- Mayoral candidate Willie Wilson said he had a message for the “whiteys” listening to his speech at a River North restaurant Thursday.
After calling out African-American aldermen for not supporting his mayoral campaign and for “voting pretty much 100 percent with Mayor Rahm Emanuel,” Wilson told a crowd of more than a hundred that he’s accepting of all people.
“To the whiteys here, I’m letting you know, I ain’t prejudiced,” he said to some laughs.
And evidently, he has no concept of proper English usage and grammar either.
As an amusing exercise, try imagining Fioretti or Garcia saying something like this, but using any of a number of less-than-flattering terms for black folks (or people). Can you imagine the shocked faces? Can you feel the outrage? Can you see Jesse "Hymietown" Jackson or Al "Greek Homos" Sharpton or even Louis "White Devils" Farrakhan calling for marches and protests and violence?

I watched a portion of the mayoral debate last night and I must say that Ol Willie had me grinnin from ear to ear. He is honestly more like a caricature of [insert racist black stereotype here] than an actual person running for mayor. He can barely speak English! He wants 4 Superintendents and for cops to be more friendly. Other than that I couldn't make out the slurred ramblings of that ol coot. Priceless!
Chuy is the best option to beat rahm in a run off. Fioretti can't beat rahm 1 on 1 but I think chuy can. We need to be sure this happens. I'm not Hispanic and I don't know much about chuy BUT I know he has the best chance of beating Rahm and we need that jagoff out of there

Listened to Wilson on Roe Conn show and he was asked about that remark. He's from the south and did not mean anything by it. Considering the rest of the interview, we found use someone who doesn't need the money, isn't interested in being President and speaks his mind. Not polished, but honest.
Roe ended the interview asking about Wilson praying at end of debate and after chuckling he finished the interview with a prayer.
He has my vote because Rham never will.

You really think Wilson and Walls will get a total of fifty percent of the vote? You really think one dropping out would push the other one into a win?? They are both non-issues in this election.
Our next mayor is Fioretti, or Garcia or Emanuel.
No one is going to get more than fifty percent of the vote this time, unless Rahm flat-out steals the election somehow.
So, choose between Fioretti and Garcia. Then, no matter whether it's Garcia who's second, or Fioretti who's second, vote for him in the runoff.

I've been around long enough to see income and socio-status is more an indicator of behavior than race. If you end up in a room full of black bougie people, your "us whites" comments will show for what they are. I grew up in Englewood and to this day I'd rather be the only black guy in a Chamber of Commerce meeting in Naperville (has happened before) than in a room of all black bougie people from the south side or that have an affiliation with the machine. Rahm doesn't care for any of these challengers. With his numbers in the tank, no planted candidate is doing him any favors getting attention drawn to Rahm doing things like using the tif funds as a slush fund for his rich chronies, closing 50 schools, or not trying harder to undo a lousy parking meter contract.

Is it too late to get Roland "Tombstone" Burris out there as another viable black candidate? I am always OK with Roland Burris on the ticket. Like a pair of old soft comfortable slippers. They don't do much but they don't hurt you either.

Pensions are in trouble all over the country, public and private. You can blame anyone you want for the problem, but it is here and taxes alone will not salvage pensions. I am retired and I do not want a cut in my pension,. Only a fool would say otherwise. But, I also do not want the pension fund to run out of money, which it is going to do and soon. Chicago has the worst funded pension funds in the USA, Daley is primarily the fault of this. The police and fire are the only funds that do not pay compounded 3% increases each year. The alderman and tradesman have been getting this for years as well as teachers. Again, I listened to the debates and compared to Rahm the rest of the candidates are just plain dumb, with their ideas and with their presentations. I do not want to see the city spiral into bankruptcy and if that happens all bets on pensions are off.
There you have the hypocrisy of this city. And the apologists here about being an old man from the south. He has been here for decades--hes a racist.If any other candidate would have said that about any other race, they would have been vilified and forced to withdraw. Jay Levine ,a Rahm ass kisser said --he didn't mean anything by it. Hes been here for years--he should no better. The Sun Times Neil Steinberg is allowed to call Fiorettis face after cancer surgery "an appliance from American Horror Story. " And nothing happens--no apology--nothing after repeated calls, emails, etc. We have two sets of rules in this city---one for minorities and another for the disables and whites. Fioretti is the only sane choice.
