Missing Pipes
An appeal for assistance from a CFD Piper:
- Hoping you guys could lend a hand.
This past weekend one of the CFD bagpipers auto was broken into in 22nd District after playing a charity event. A $5000 loss for a guy that spends much of his free time playing for firefighters and police officers mostly for free. Can you spread the word to have the CPD keep their eyes peeled. We are also passing the hat and dropping donations at the Quinn FA.
Any help would be appreciated,

That's a big hit for a musician who does charity gigs many times a year, including a number for CPD. Keep an eye out boys and girls.

Where in 022 did this happen? I work there and this is the first I'm hearing of it! I would like to help. 3rd watch.
I thought I found them yesterday, but it turned out to be a couple of cats fighting.
Normally this claim would be on homeowners insurance subject to deductible and a premium increase. Not worth it for a $5000 loss

When a piper takes up this 'hobby' it costs THOUSANDS of dollars for pipes and bag, custom kilts, jackets, spats, big wool sox, cases for the pipes...
My ex took up the pipes when he was about forty and it was a real expense. There's constant upkeep, too.
For the commenter about 'no insurance?', yes, your car insurance might cover some of the cost, but nowhere near all of it, and pipes are pretty unique to the piper. You buy the size and style that work best for you. You customize them. You 'break them in' like a pair of shoes.
When they're stolen, there's financial loss and there's a very personal loss, too.
Come on rahm step up, Phil Cline lets go replace the pipes!
The copper is on the radio now, steve dahls program, sounds like a goof! Get off the radio! The copper says his homeowners insurance will cover it.

What? No car insurance? I can't keep up with all these victims, whether it's a break in, or "medical bills piling up." Don't we all have health insurance, too? With low out of pocket maximums?
For sure doesn't play for free, but I'll keep an eye out.
This is why you never leave your pipes in the car. Especially in the cold!

Homeowners Insurance or Automobile insurance should cover the loss...

Car insurance does notr handle personal property inside of your auto, that property is covered under your homeowners or renters insurance and the bagpipes just may be an excluded item.
