Nice Investment
Yet another reason why the city and state are pretty much bankrupt:
- A clout-heavy couple convicted of stealing more than $3 million in state grant money to support a lavish lifestyle of yacht-club memberships, luxury cars and vacation homes also had a sweetheart deal with the University of Illinois at Chicago that reaped them hundreds of thousands of dollars in profits, a Chicago Sun-Times investigation has found.
A business owned by Leon Dingle Jr. and his wife, Karin Dingle, leased out a portion of a small, one-story building they owned on the West Side to UIC for storage. They collected nearly $700,000 in rent over seven years from the state university — more than twice the $310,000 they paid for the entire building, university and property records show.
The Dingles’ Advance Health, Social & Educational Associates Inc. shared the 9,000-square-foot building at 2234 W. Walnut with UIC between the summer of 2006 and the fall of 2013, when the lease expired. That was about a year after the couple’s Oct. 4, 2012, indictment in a federal grant-fraud case in Springfield.
How come the pension fund can't make investments like this? Vanecko too dumb?
The good news is they're due to be sentenced shortly and face 20 years. We doubt they'll see half, but it's nice to dream of a federal judge making a statement in this corrupt shithole.

But I bet the parties they threw for their UIC friends were EPIC!

Someone come by and hand you the mittimus sooner or later. Yo s__t disposed of in court of law. That paper makes it real.
Enjoy cleaning toilets 3 AM.
Later. Much later.
How much of that valuable equipment they stored went straight into a dumpster after sitting in storage for seven years?
That is a lifetime for any electronic equipment. If I don't use something in 3 years it gets sent to Goodwill.
Why not just request foreign aid like many other nations do? After all Chicago, has become a third world nation.
Question, is their son the officer in fugitive apprehension? Will he have to find his parents when they're on the lam???
Didn't Dingle get caught with his dongle in the talented and lovely Quinshaunta Golden? He promptly steered another $10,000 in grant money to the person who walked in on the lovemaking session. Similar to an episode of The Wire that got a dopey PO made Sergeant.
As usual don't forget SCC the Daley vanecko DV urban that received 60 Million of our pension money and lost it all! Wonder what clout guys on our pension board allowed the give away of our hard earned pension monies/ why are they not indicted for this crime?
To bad when the temptation of money leads to greed, their son is on the job. CD keep your head up!
I'd rather see people like this wind up in the woodchipper.
Nothing good happens when two Dingles get together.
Their kid in fugitive apprehension (phone call) is a legend in his own mind.
His linked in page had me laughing so hard I almost ______ my drawers!!!! Ya gotta see that thing LMFAO!

And yet the daleys are free and clear of any wrong doing
This is labelled corruption/wrong because more higher ups were not taken care of. What is the difference between this and Depaul University getting a stadium with tax payer dollars? Or a company getting no bid contracts for supplying hand soap at O'Hare airport? None. Just look at all of the waste and fraud that our politicians and government from the city, county, state to federal engage in. That money they play with belongs to us. Provided to them by our sweat and aching backs.
There is nothing uncorrupted in this state. The day I retire I am leaving this cesspool. Leave it to the politicians, sheep and the savages. They deserve each other.
Great question on how our pension board held more accountable, even criminally. They do have a fiduciary responsibility.

I am using a Mac Pro computer that is 8 years old. Works fine and has been running for all those 8 years. Never gets turned off. I replaced the video card once and increased the RAM. By time I go to Goodwill with this they will be asking me "what's that?"

Richard M Daley had a fiduciary responsibility. How did that work out, do you recall?

I thought Dingles were a Hostess snack cake but it was Hostess Ding Dongs, my mistake. But Dingles has a ring to it.
