Stop Whining Dart

  • Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart is issuing a dire warning about what will happen to his jail because of Governor Bruce Rauner’s cuts to state social safety net programs, reports CBS 2’s [...].

The ARK, a community project of St. Sabina Catholic Church, is called an after school center, but it operates seven days a week from 3 to 10 p.m., giving at-risk kids on the South Side a safe place to learn and have fun away from the streets.
Um...church programs paid for by taxpayers? Where are the atheists when you need them?
  • Now a big question mark hangs over these kids. State money, $200,000 a year, has dried up.

A letter came in January from the Rauner administration, saying, “You are to cease any and all operations funded by this grant, effective immediately.”

“We’ll have to cut back on the number of youth we can support and provide services to,” said program director Jocelyn Jones.

Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart is incensed by the scores of social service cuts by the Rauner administration. He predicts an avalanche of new inmates at his Cook County Jail.
Then you can un-mothball the shuttered division. Or you can ask for another max security wing to be built - the County still owns dozens of acres behind the jail. The tradesmen would love to have a large-scale County job to build and their unions would kick in tons of donations to various election campaigns.

Quit whining and start building you sissy.

Actually hears on the news about 2 weeks ago that the total state money that goes to Fr. Flaker is close to $930K.

True? False? Never hear another word about it tho.

$200,000.00 for a good cause should be easy to raise. If it is a good cause?

How about just building a large double fenced area with a gate going in and out of it? Set up some tents inide it like Sheriff Arpaio (sp?) in Phoenix. Put the troublemakers there, and keep the cells for the well behaved.

If St. Sabina wants to have some program, that's fine - they, their flock, and the Church can fund it.

No need for the taxpayers to fund that useless shit just so parents can keep squeezing out kids they don't want to watch or control.

People raised $481,000.00 for Memories Pizza in Indiana in about 24 hours.

Dart should set up a Go Fund Me page for his pet project.

Say, listen here, little boy Tommy:

You were elected to be responsible for keeping criminals locked up and nothing more.

"Now go home and get your shine box."

"...scores of social service cuts by the Rauner administration..."

...and it's bad enough that I haven't seen a complete, understandable, line-by-line list anywhere. The local media have been spoon-feeding us one or two bites, here and there.

The last one I heard was that they're going to stop funding burials of the indigent. $1,650 isn't much to -- well, not honor a lifetime, but at least lay it to rest. Someone says a prayer -- I think. Apparently the better specimens of the unwanted poor will end up suspended from tongs in their ear canals, hanging in tanks of formaldehyde at some medical school.

...while the no-bid contracts fly, endless lines of "leased semi-dumps" going one way and cement trucks coming the other, and gleaming new objects you're not allowed near arise everywhere...

Someone busted the moral compass on the ship's bridge, huh? So we thrash along, our course a descending spiral.

I wondered why dart and others never have anyone run against them at election time? I think in his case everyone thinks that you have to be or you will become a whinney bitch to hold that office! He has it made and still bitches about something!

Tommy is still a little PO'd that he didn't get the Shall Issue concealed carry law he wanted ... and the big payday of "applicant donations" that go with it. By the way, has he totaled up all the bodies from the CCW permit holders that he swore were going to litter the streets in Cook County?

Tom Dart is not our friend, and he never has been. He is one of the most self serving people around and has a low opinion of the CPD. As for Fr. Phleger and St. Sabina go, they are the most financially well off Catholic Church on the South Side and south suburbs. If Fr. Phleger wants to fund his after school programs let it come from the church budget or from liberal idiots who have supported him like Chris Zorich. Don't take a dime of my tax money to fund him or his programs.

What? Last time the welfare roles were cut during Clinton's presidency, liberals were screaming that there would be a crime wave. What actually happened is that the crime rate went down. When you have to show up to work, you are not on the street getting in trouble.

Hey, you guys voted him in and will do it again so stop complaining! IIRC, there was at least one good candidate who ran against dart last time and yet dart won. So next time get out and tell the rest of the populace the truth about dart and send the bum packing!
