Thanks Again

We'd like to thank all the real and imaginary characters who stopped in this morning to wish us a Happy 10th Anniversary. And all the real commentators who took a small part of their weekend to say, "Congratulations." It was and continues to be appreciated. We've often said we have the sharpest (and funniest) readers in existence, so again, our success is due as much to you as to us. Let's keep it going.

Is it true that an officer could have a 160 IQ, an unblemished record, hold the all-time CPD career record for Part One felony arrest incidents yet retire after 30 years without a promotion, "merit" or otherwise, while still pushing a beat car?

5/31/2015 10:30:00 AM

So what you are saying is that a guy with an IQ of 160 could not score well enough on a promotional exam to make rank legit?

Complete bullshit story but I do love trolls coming on the blog to start shit. I do it myself often after a few pops.

Keep it up

Dear diary, well it has been a little while since my last entry.... Driving in my cruiser on the horrible bad streets of 019. I finally couldn't take it anymore so I asked a few of my special forces friends and they told me my life would be much better if I got away from the bodybuilding mustache M.R. So I made my move... A bold move! The scenery was much greener but then it came... The flight of malcontents from 019 turned into the flight of the mean poopie heads.... That goofy sergeant on days who thinks he is the best cop in the world but really is just a secret member of the Manhole touchy club, he bid out... That strange sergeant from afternoons and then days bid somewhere else... Then the Stache moved away and Looney moved in... So now the misery of 019 has spread all over the northside.... Are they following me? I can't bid back.... But where else can I go? I already did my recruit year on the Wild West side... So I'm burned out from all that action... Especially from the time I had to work the desk there... Stress is stress though...

In any case, I'd like to take this moment to wish you at SCC, my diary, a happy 10th birthday!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Thank You so very much shining the light of truth and providing an alternative countering the junk put out by the agenda driven media, political entities, the F.O.P., politicians, the politburo at 121 N. LaSalle, the shenanigans by the tarnished brass of the C.P.D. and the everyday follies of the C.P.D.

Sunshine is the best disinfectant. The wit, the wisdom, the resourcefulness and the humor of the Men and Women of the C.P.D is like a breath a fresh air in the polluted environment which officers have to deal with. Keep up the good work and you have reached the ten year mark so you are now vested. There is no turning back. Keep up the good work!

SCC you provide a most valuable service of providing checks and balances on so many levels. Dirty Fifth Street ivory tower types cringe when they are alerted to a posting fearing their misdeeds or short comings will be aired. What once was rumors now whether true or not is put under the proverbial microscope for review. Some bosses despise their nicknames but remember for a nickname or moniker to stick, there must some truth behind it.

Thank You SCC!

Know that the corporate sponsored political/media powers
and the joyfully ignorant surely desire to shut down this place
where Policemen gather to exchange information,
have a laugh, vent our anger, sadness and frustration,
post pithy observations honed by street knowledge,
rubbing against bad people, enduring bad
circumstances, trying to keep body, mind and soul
together in this anti-Police for no damned good
or rational reason climate.

The work you do MUST be divinely ordered because
afterall, aren't Chicago Policemen the best(-est), baddest,
roughest, toughest and fun(-est) soldiers in God's
come one, come all, rag-tag army?

"Blessed Are The PEACEMAKERS, for they shall
be called The Children of GOD."

-Gospel of Matthew
Ch.5 Verse 9-

The Good Shepherd
never commanded that
his Peacemakers be
perfect.

He didn't demand they "get it right"
every time and to not confront/stop
hard-heads who need confronting
and stopping.

To say nothing of those who demand
that the Peacemakers tread lightly
so as to give no offense to those
hard-heads and their supporters
and enablers.

Nor did he command his Peacemakers
to not push back against the evil and
the powerful who commit more eye-
watering outrages than any true
Peacemaker could ever imagine
while holding themselves up as
being smarter and having more/better
answers than any Peacemaker(s)
ever could.

Why does anyone think the evil and the powerful
in municipal, state and federal governance so energetically
troll this blog?

Because they're afraid of the power of truth.
They're afraid that put-upon people will
align with "those dumb cops" and actually
start thinking about putting up a fight against
the avalanche of outrages being committed.

That you lasted 10 years inspite of many vows by
many powerful and evil people to shut this blog
down and punish, persecute, prosecute, imprison
and greatly inconvenience you and those who
contribute here, is a noteworthy testament to YOU
SCC, and the "wild and out of control" spirit
of Chicago Policemen.

You do righteous work SCC.
Congrats on another service bar.
You've finally earned your
"Undergraduate Street Degree."

Get that gold star on your sleeve and
you'll have earned a Ph.D.

Happy birthday happy anniversary to the #1 police blog in the country, next let's conquer the world! The singer Madonna on American Bandstand years ago was asked by Dick Clark what her goals were her reply "to rule the world" wonder if SCC WILL become the place the world turns to for truth justice and honest reporting? To the so called "bosses" scratching their bubble heads tryouts to figure out who SCC is to score another merit promotion it will never happen! Let's see blog hits times revenue equal worth of about 2 million or more, inquiring people would like to buy the blog you can bet and run ads, but truth is blog will never be sold, like the great OZ from wizard of OZ the people behind the curtain will stay behind the curtain! Oh and boss if your wondering still who we are look around spinning more could it be the smiling face next to you? The girl in short skirt? The muscle head over there! Keep going guessing!

We had a Blog (TheCountyGuy.com) as you may well remember but Dart located the Court Deputy Sgt, threatened him with termination unless he shut the Blog down. The Court Deputy Sgt complied and kept his job but was demoted.
That's the fact!

Best police blog? Damn one of the best blogs, period. I've become so disgusted with the local media for the pandering to Rham and the fact they protect the Machine by stifling the public dialogue that comment sections in the paper provided before they disabled or discontinued them.

I refuse to pay for a Tribune (sorry John Kass) or a Sun-Times. I'll read them if they are laying around somewhere.

SSC, I'd pay to read. I respect how you, for the most part, publish everything submitted. Sometimes, that results in readers reading thru a lot of jibberish, but that's the price you have to pay to learn something and find interesting and insightful comments. I check this site just about every day like I do Drudge, Lucianne.com & ZeroHedge.com

Congrats SCC and Thanks!

Oh ye of little faith... While your skepticism is understandable, you obviously doubt the following anonymous post alleging that it's the bullshit of a troll:

"Is it true that an officer could have a 160 IQ, an unblemished record, hold the all-time CPD career record for Part One felony arrest incidents yet retire after 30 years without a promotion, "merit" or otherwise, while still pushing a beat car?"

First, I recommend that you Google "Jordan v. New London" and read where Robert Jordan was denied appointment to the New London (CT) PD because he was "too smart". Jordan scored 33 out of a perfect score of 50 on the 12-minute Wonderlic IQ test. Using the Wonderlic/IQ conversion [Wonderlic score x 2 + 60], Jordan's IQ was calculated at 126. The median Wonderlic score is 20 [IQ = 100]. MENSA membership (at or above the 98th IQ percentile) requires an IQ of at least 132 depending on the test used. The Wonderlic is the same test that is administered to college football players during the annual pre-draft NFL combine in Indianapolis.

Could it be that like the New London PD, the CPD finds it intimidating to have officers that are "too smart" for management positions?

The CPD administers the Wonderlic under special circumstances. At least one officer reportedly obtained a perfect score.

My response to the anonymous person you described as a "troll": YES! It's absolutely possible. After all, it's "the Chicago Way".

That can't be true. The well-defined CPD "meritocracy" policy only promotes "the BEST (felony arrests) and the BRIGHTEST (high IQ)".

The City would never cheat and lie. Corrupt politics would totally destroy morale and make the CPD into one huge CLUSTERFUCK.

5/31/2015 10:30:00 AM

Yep. It happened to me, except I did it to myself. I have a 160 IQ, took 30 days once and a few lesser suspensions of varying lengths, haven't made a Part I arrest since 1985, have 33 years otj with two years to go for the health insurance and still pushing a beat car, but I never got my lazy ass out of bed on a Saturday to take the written portion of any test, so I guess I am rested, but was never ready. You left out one very important component when writing your hypothetical scenario. Desire. You must desire it to seek it to get it. Get it?
