- ATLANTA (WXIA) – A bold new ad campaign is being launched next week by the board formed as a watchdog group of the Atlanta Police Department.
It's called 'Don't Run' – and it is a direct response to the number of incidents of police-involved shootings around the country and here in metro Atlanta.
Starting Monday, at least 20 billboards will be going up in neighborhoods across the city of Atlanta – including in Vine City, just west of the Georgia Dome. The message is a simple one
"Don't run – that's it," said Steven Reid, executive director of the Atlanta Citizen Review Board.
As in, don't run – from the police.
Wow. Maybe these signs can go up around Chicago, too. Next to the "CeaseFire" stickers and the "snitch boxes" and in VRI/VRE enforcement areas and "Impact Zones" and "Hot Spots" and "Gang Conflict" areas. And as a topper, maybe Rahm can run a parallel ad campaign directed at Officers - call it "Don't Chase." Everyone will be happy then.

Don't run?! Hell, that's been my policy for years. I'm lucky if I walk at a medium pace. The fastest you'll ever see me move is exiting VRI and entering the bar.
Sometimes I am just overwhelmed by the number and type of programs that are in place or starting just to keep the lid on behavior in the black community. When does it ever end?

The City of Chicago would rather strong arm the taxpayers and private sectors for millions in "programs" for the disenchanted and misdirected (by gov'mint programs) urban youth.

I'm sure there will be a Daley-Rahm Joint Venture that has an exploratory committee formed to examine the profitability of promoting such a campaign, sponsorships could include Nike,RedBull and BreatheRite.

Good idea . Now for the citizens living in mount greenwood . Speeding camera on 111th st by the ag school generated $190,000 in fines in less than three months . Wow add that to our high property taxes , do you think we deserve 2 extra beat cars to patrol our neighborhood ? I do and think most other citizens do . Where is the money going , time for a forensic audit .
By.2211 is often used on calls east of Sacramento , that means no car on patrol . During roll call , check off , no car on patrol in mount greenwood .

We had the signs "don't shoot I want to grow up" that worked out well. Don't run? I chase maybe just maybe 4-6 sidewalk squares in my 29 years (retiring in September), to many coppers got seriously hurt chasing thugs why bother, unless it's assisting a copper not going to risk my future. If you catch the animals what happens in court? Nothing they are released as you have a injury that affects your livelihood, the department does not want you getting into anything why bother! At 1 time called other coppers dog ass for being lazy they retire collect pensions live comfortably,while "hard chargers" are still nursing old wounds, broke body parts!

A duty that we ALL would do in the beat of a heart when the crisis hits. But worthy of a promotion, raise and added responsibility? No! Worthy of recognition and respect YES!
There was one alleged "black leader" who said it is natural for blacks to run when they see a police car, because of the history of oppression by the government etc. etc. etc. So, the Don't Run signs are just another way to keep da bros down, yo.

Was at doctor yesterday he has many police officers as patients I have minor high blood pressure he told me many officers he sees lately of any age have high blood pressure he finds it peculiar, but them says "I watch what you people (meaning coppers) go through in the media and understand why high blood pressure is so common with us!
