- Jamyah Lee, 7 months old, was lying in bed playing with her toys over the weekend when a chunk of concrete shattered the window of her Englewood home and hit her in the head, fracturing her skull, according to police and family.
"Where I come from, you think about bullets going through the window. You never hear about bricks going through the window," the baby’s mother, Janica Lee, said by phone Monday from her daughter's room at Comer Children’s Hospital.
Witnesses report a male white fleeing from the scene dressed in a checkerboard hat, blue shirt, multi-pocket cargo pants and black shoes, driving a busted up late model white SUV with blue trim.
We may have made up that last paragraph, but you know the left wishes it were true.

Keith Haring Art Project From 1989 Could Be Worth Millions, But Some Of It Is Missing

(CBS) — A colorful mural created by a world-renowned artist with the help of Chicago students may be worth millions. But Chicago Public Schools apparently doesn’t know where all the pieces are.
CBS 2’s Derrick Blakley reports.
Orange Line riders arriving at Midway Airport may not know they’re passing by murals created by the late, world-renowned contemporary artist Keith Haring. But retired CPS teacher Irving Zucker does.
“I’ve been trying to track it for the last 25 years,” Zucker says.
Zucker recruited social activist Haring to Chicago to create a giant, colorful mural, with the help of 500 CPS students. Even more came from the suburbs.
“He did it because he loved kids, and he was committed to urban culture and urban life,” she says.
Students signed the murals with their schools, like Wells and Corliss, and with uplifting messages, such as “say no to drugs” and “stop the gangs.”
Zucker would like to see the whole mural reassembled, as a 25th anniversary project. There’s a problem: No one knows where all the panels are.
“It’s a mystery. Where are the missing sections? We don’t even really know how many missing sections there are,” Zucker says.
CBS 2 observed nine panels, measuring 8-feet square, at Midway. There are more panels at CPS headquarters.
Haring died in 1990 at age 31, and the value of his work has soared. A CPS consultant valued the mural panels at $60,000 each. But MIR appraisals, a respected art valuation service, says the panels could be worth up to $600,000 each – or $20 million total.
“I would like to know where they are, and I would like to see the whole thing reassembled one more time,” Zucker says.
That high appraisal is partially dependent on the condition of the panels. Many at Midway show signs of wear and tear.
CPS officials say the school system has protected and restored some of the panels. The school system is able to account for 68 pieces at different CPS sites, in addition to the ones at Midway. Originally, the mural was 500 feet long.

It was on TV news that this child was to be released from Comer Children's Hospital later today to be monitored at home. Best wishes for a speedy recovery and a good productive life. Hopefully this ass who be in jail for a long time with all the baggage that goes with any con who hurts a child.
Back when I was working during the anti-NATO demonstrations there was a lot of anti-cop shit going around. I took a look around our station and got a Streets and San crew to clean up all the loose concrete chunks up and down the main, side streets and alley around our station. We didn't want to leave ammo out there that could be picked up and hurled at those huge glass windows in front. Not to mention all our cars in those big open parking lots.
Stay Safe. With all that is going on right now take a look around and access the risk factors (broken concrete, high weeds, street lights) around your stations and do something about them. It should be someone of rank, but does not have to be someone of great rank.
Wheres jackson,sharpton,the msm? This is a disgrace, little children being attacked, wonder who did this? black on black violence? How can this be with a church on almost every block!

What about the white man who stole the black lady's home, put in new carpeting and then began renting it to tenants after collecting a security deposit and first and last month's rent? This was a channel 5 investigation. The actual owner of the home, found out what was going on and was able to get the "fake" homeowner arrested. He has been sentenced to two years probation, money she got back from him, she also gave it to the tenants but was unable to evict them because the home is in foreclosure and it will be up to the bank to evict them. Now what about that statement, a white male?

I'm retiring in September looking to move what suburb, how much real estate taxes? Section 8? My partner retired moved to lemont last year this year he noticed thugs found out section 8 welcome in lemont can't get away from the thug life! You can run but cannot hide from thugalicious destiny. Another state maybe but here don't think so!

The humor gets rough, seeing this awful stuff every day, but no one would handle that poor little kid more gently. That's where it's at.
5:05 4:39 P M Officer, I had only one stipulation when my wife and I got serious about moving.
I wanted at least one suburb between my home and the City. Original thought was to also leave the County, but lost that battle( Family, close friends ,etc)
Yes taxes are higher, but it keeps out certain elements of Society, if you get my drift.
Bottom line: I wanted a home where I could not reach out my window and high~five my neighbor.
Fr Pfleger will be protesting brickmakers, bricklayers, and the Sakrete company along with Sharpton to stop blunt objects from killing our brown chillins! Brick drive-bys gots to stop.
