Another Bloody Weekend
- A boy who was wounded in the hand in the Rogers Park neighborhood became at least the eighth person to be shot Sunday, including one fatally.
Since Friday at 1:44 p.m. five people have been fatally shot and at least 26 people wounded in the city.
- An off-duty Oak Park police officer was shot early Sunday on Chicago's South Side, according to authorities.
A family member said the 58-year-old officer was leaving for work when he was approached by two males armed with a gun in the alleyway behind his home in the 300 block of West 103rd Place.
The off-duty, a 25-year vet, took one in the arm, one in the leg and is expected to recover. He also managed to wound one of the assailants who was picked up later.

I don't understand the "Thanks Garry Thanks Rahm" headline. Don't you say on here all the time you cant stop of gang banger from shooting another gang banger? But its the Sups fault when someone gets shot? I'm confused? And to the guy who says "fuck you Rahm, fund my pension" Grow the fuck up. You sound like an idiot.

Slightly off topic: Yesterday afternoon, Corpus Christi, Texas lost it's Chief of Police. Chief Floyd Simpson, died as the result of injuries sustained while riding his motorcycle in Port Aransas, Texas just north of Corpus. A 16 year old driver veered his F-150 into the Chiefs path. The chief laid his cycle down in an effort to avoid the oncoming truck, but despite wearing a helmet, he sustained a fatal head injury. Chief Simpson was beloved by the citizens of Corpus and well respected by the officers under him. At the time of his death he was engaged in increasing the size of his force. He will be greatly missed by all.

Father Flaker was really pissed when the brother of one of his workers got offed this weekend! Could someone close to him explain that for how many years there have been shootings every other day in his parish! But now he is concerned? He was only concerned when the Police were involved in a shooting.what a maroon!!

Easy Game Plan for CPD this Summer:
Do only what you are ordered to by a Supervisor, and have witnesses to those Orders.
Respond full force Only when your fellow CPD Officers, Active, Off-Duty, Retired, or Disabled need help badly and immediately. Same goes for your Family & Friends.
Wear your Body Armor and be fully Armed at ALL Times, whether going to or coming from, work, court,Spec Employment, Sode Security Jobs, etc.
Be aware of your surroundings at all times, don't hurry in, and make sure you do have plenty of backup when do venture in.
Watch your backside as much as possible.
If involved in any serious or Life-Threatening Situation, make NO oral or written statements to ANYONE, without your Attorney.
Always think survival, and have a plan and a backup plan.
Never under-estimate the Enemy, even if it's a 12 year old kid or 80 year old woman.
Hands Kill. NEVER, NEVER take your eyes off the hands of an offender.
Stay Safe, and don't work the summer away. Enjoy it with your friends and family. A few bucks more or less is really not what matters, but they and yourselves do.

HIRE SOME POLICE, that's what they're supposed to do.
Trying to do it with smoke, mirrors and creative accounting isn't cutting it anymore. Crime is climbing, regardless of the propaganda Rahm is peddling.

No one can stop a gang banger from shooting another Gang banger. They don't matter, just the kids and old people they sometimes wind up shooting. But they make the city look bad because either 40 people(Gang members) got shot in a couple days, or 40 people including innocents got shot in a couple days. Garry and Rahm take credit when 40 people don't get shot so they must also take the credit when 40 people do get shot. Simple.
McLiar says crime is down to historically low levels..... so how can this carnage be happening?
