So is there an actual ET list out?
Detectives and Lieutenants graduated this past week.
Sergeants due to graduate shortly.
Everything in place for summer - how's that homicide count looking? Or the clearance rate? Or the shooting rate?

All the spots getting filled with people leaving patrol, would make u wonder why no openings AGAIN !
I heard there was an original list that came out on Wednesday, but I guess some people declined so they put out an amended list on Thursday. This much is certain - they are sending 40 to classroom training with the top 20 in rank order and 5 "management" (phone calls) going on to field training with an ET. The other 15 are going back to where they came from to wait to be called up as openings occur. Can someone post the list please?

They are really short on ET's. Remember years back they were assigned to the districts. You had one on each watch. Now you might have just 6 citywide.

Yes, list came out. But new ET job description includes processing homicides (FI work). By accepting the position they cant grieve out-of-grade.
How is it that someone assigned to the forensic unit now as a PO makes the first class? I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that her dad used to be a crime lab guy and best buddies with the director of the unit. But hey Chicago it's all legit.
Congrat all merit or not. We know how it goes just watch their backs and appreciate them coming to your crime scene.

To the guy who continues to post about the lack of openings; there have been a lot more openings and promotions under Mighty Mac than under J-Fled. I think your problem is you need to get more time on so you can be a sucessful bidder. Good luck Jr.
The list was posted and then amended twice as certain people waived. 32 from the list and 8 management spots for a total of 40. It's on the administrative messages.

Does it really matter anymore? We are short hundreds are retiring this year classes of 85-86-87 we need more boots on the streets, the parade St. Jude was great but all the gold stars gee how many pension sucking bosses do we need? Word is another class of 50 Sgt's again with no merit after this class graduates to bring the rank to full strength. Then once merit nominations are asked for they are going to require at least 1500 or above on the list to be nominated.

ET's will be super busy this summer.
We have way too many sergeants. Look at some of thee units
4 sergeants working and 10 officers.

WORK??? How dare you suggest such a thing???
Do you really think this job et is worth the small bump in pay? Nothing like being trapped in roach infested buildings looking for prints and other things! Hours wasted nope not worth it! While the mayors and city clerk and of course the city treasurers (musical job whose got that job chair now?) all making pensionable D-3 (sergeants pay) for fetching coffee and running red lights!

Oh, you're going to enjoy the answers to THAT question. And there's a million of 'em.
City Clerk doesn't have a detail at her request.
For the younger Katz o the job Janice Dillon was a CPD Capt in 017 and in 019. Was in 019 when she came over from 017.
She is/was married to a cool Lt named Kevin that is also an attorney. We had an awesome W/C on Mids named Jim McGovern who was just a true gentlemen/prince to work for and at one time, I think 013, Capt. McGovern and Lt. Dillon were the Bosses of a watch in 013. According to all that I spoke to at the time it was the place to be cuz neither Boss was a prick and actually had a true gift of empathy w/the Coppers under their command. Lt. Dillon makes too much money w/his legal practice to take a gold star which as I understood it was something always on the table from Daley.
U'd pull up to the ramp in the old 019 and see Capt. Dillon's SUPER loud Hummer one day and Benz the next courtesy of Kevin Dillon.
Capt. Dillon's buddy was a Lt that wanted to be a Capt. Dillon's buddy couldn't take the exam cuz it clearly stated that the Lt. had to be at the exam in order to have the exam count. Janice(Capt)took the exam, administered the exam as a proctor, and in her very own home this took place. Test in hand, no one around, and lets say promotion was in the air. So, feel it like this......U'r best Bud has the test alone w/U in her kitchen as U take it. What do U think happened to Capt. Dillon's buddy the former Lt?
U guessed it. A fair and square promotion to Capt.
These BS "juice stories" used to bother me, B4 the 10 year mark, but now they amuse me. It's just so ridiculously blatant BS that I smirk when I think of it. Her kid works a Northside District and she was in plain clothes B4 she was off probation.
It's Chicago and that's the way shit rolls here. I'll B in Patrol till my time w/The Organization is done, but like I said, this stuff is so crooked and off I find myself laughing about this stuff now. Its good to B a Dillon on this job cuz as the old saying goes "they never have a bad day on this job."

I have had the privelege to work for both and if you have any experience with them then you can say they were both for the police and great bosses. It was an honor, and it's a shame there aren't to many bosses anymore you can say that about.
By your comments we can tell you have no knowledge of this department or the family. Just another sorry soul that loves to talk bad about officers and their families! I guess anonymous fits well for your label.
