Texas Attack
Just like happened with the NYPD double slaying, the constant drum-beat of anti-police rhetoric bears bitter fruit:
- HOUSTON - Prosecutors said a 24-year-old police woman was stabbed a total of 14 times by a man who allegedly told investigators he was out to kill the police officer because "cops are oppressive."
Houston homicide investigators said Jeremiah M. Matthews, 23, tried to kill an off-duty Houston Community College Officer Aprils Pikes early Tuesday morning while she was working as a security guard at a Meyerland Walmart store.
During a magistrate's hearing Tuesday night, prosecutors said, "The defendant gave a statement admitting he had the intent to attack a police officer and his desire to kill a police officer.”
Investigators at the scene said Matthews told them he did it to get back at police for what he calls brutal treatment. But customers helped stop the brutal attack.
According to witnesses, Matthews came into the store, tackled Pikes and began stabbing her with a hunting knife.
No previous interaction with this officer who was working a Department-approved side job in uniform...just a target of convenience. She'll live, but at last report, will likely lose her entire right arm, meaning at the ripe old age of 24, she has worked her last shift as a street officer.

We have coordinated this with the HCC Chief of Police and he asked that we handle these donations.

What you must've missed is a little thing entitled "Employee Resource 05-09, Application For Police Officer (Assigned As Evidence Technician), title code 9206".
If you signed up for the ET test, you should've read this to do so. In it, one would find the following section:
E. Management reserves the right to fill 20% of recognized vacancies at its discretion without regard to seniority or rank score, provided that the position is filled by a candidate on the eligibility list.
So, no conspiracy here regarding how some people wound up on the list. What exists is the usual verbiage that allows those with clout/phone calls to slide into a spot they didn't earn. So you see, it's not that you missed an opportunity to put in for "merit" ET, it's that the chosen ones not smart enough to make it rank order have whack and you don't. It's labeled "management" instead of "merit" for obvious reasons.
For an even more egregious example of just how fixed advancement on this job really is, ask around about those who ranked highest on the recent canine lists. You'll be shocked to see that those who work directly for the Bossholes who conducted the oral interviews (i.e. assigned to O'Hare & HQ to name just two locations) ranked in the Top 10. Those with ties to existing canine handlers also did exceptionally well.

I have friends in Houston police department. You can work approved side jobs in full uniform. So the offender knew she is an off duty officer and stabbed her. Now at the age of 24 she lost one arm and God only knows what the rest of her injuries are. Now she won't be able to work as a p.o.

Very true. I was working VRI and went for gas. It was astonishing to see so many cars just sitting there. Like sitting ducks waiting to be attacked. If you don't think the bad guys have noticed that then you are fooling yourself. Be smart, be proactive and go home safely. This department does not care about you so it is your job to care about yourself and each other.

She charged all six officers in the death of Gray and said his arrest was illegal.
Mosby said the officers are being charged with a number of counts of manslaughter, assault and misconduct. One officer will even be charged with a count of murder.

I for one appreciate the off topic postings in the absence of any thread dedicated to very important issues like promotions and all the sheananigans that come with them. Yes it was a sickening attack against another LEO but in case you haven't noticed our promotional process is just as sickening but in a different type of way. When you run your own blog, you can pick & choose what gets posted and where. Until that time - ASSHAT - maybe you should figure out that the world doesn't revolve around what YOU think. When that happens Holder's pal Loretta Lynch will take another swing with Federal charges. Count on that. Maybe even if they are convicted. Cozzi was convicted in state court and Federal court for the same incident. We are fucked.
Everyone with a badge needs to heighten their safety and security. This is one of the most anti-police time periods I've ever seen, mainly because there are direct attacks on police because of the prevailing sentiments. It reminds me of the gruesome 1970's when the police were attacked and killed indiscriminately.
Obama and the communists are ginning up these riots with the ultimate goal of nationalizing the police force---destroying the republic and creating a police state. These incidents are being centrally coordinated by the hard left.
Not exactly sure where this is heading or what the endgame will be. Maybe attacking or ambushing a LE will become a "rite of passage"? But it sure makes a tough job almost un-doable.
