- A scoop for you SCC, and as usual you will be the rags to the punch: Eric Holder will be installed as the head of an oversight agency which will have IG type authority over CPD and IPRA. I'll save my opinions for the future, I just wanted to get it out there. If I was making this up I'd come up with something much funnier-I'm not. It's real. (Also, McCarthy is PISSED about it)

Makes no sense. He can make big money with a speaking gig, university job, major law firm or private industry with none of the aggravation of working for a city that is tanking.
LOL. What a massive step backward if this is true. No one else would hire him? Not a single large firm, nonprofit group or civil rights organization anywhere?

If he comes here in this capacity, I'm going to have to take a deep breath and sell the home that's come down through my family for more than fifty years. The city I used to love is dead and nearly buried. The job I loved is unrecognizable. It's time to research other cities in other states.

Part of the pension bill includes a section requiring independent review of all police deaths. Rahm is mending all ties with blacks and the Elizabeth Warren Left to establish his vice presidential cred. It's not about the money for Holder-it is 100% politics. Remember who really made Holder in the first place: Bill Clinton. Most don't know this, but Holder was acting AG at the end of the Clinton administration administration. It's all politics, and sadly accurate.

Retired guy here...Anyone working should consider getting out..If you can retire, do so..If you cant retire yet, find another agency to work for..I'd call Sheriff Joe put in Arizona. At least you know he will back you. There are tons of Police agencies across this country that would love to hire Chicago coppers...Your experience makes you a good hire for any agency

Lori Lightfoot got the job of being the president of the police board. Her reputation is that of being fair and impartial, but now she owes Rahm for earning a big check to work one day a month. I guess we shall see.
Perhaps Lori's appointment was confused with the Eric Holder rumor of being a federal oversight of cpd and ipra. But then again, Lori IS friends with and respected by the Obama administration. So if the Holder rumor is true - now you have Rahm, Lori and Eric controlling the cpd.

Wasn't there a federal investigation a few years ago and a fees cops were offered to pay for their case to be dropped and they said no, now this BS!!!!! Whatever came of the investigation?

8:57 am -- Lori's Seventh Circuit issues happened while doing the people's business and under the guidance of a respected supervisor. Her integrity is unquestioned and let us not forget her fine work on behalf of the officer in the Jefferson tap case. She is a fine choice for the police board and plays it down the middle.
