Look Who Dropped By

Again:

You know, people could get used to this sort of thing. It might actually give them good feelings and a happy outlook on the long cold winters here.

Congratulations to what we consider one of best organizations in all of sports.

HAWKS!!!

Arrived home at a reasonable time, despite the long bus ride up Belmont due to the "celebration" and the fact that it was no-can-do on Clark to catch the bus south.

Good times.

I think it's patently unjust that once again African Americans have been systematically excluded from the Stanley Cup finals and a large part of my presidency will be devoted to redressing this wanton assault on the freedom of blacks. And I will do this after I disarm all police officers in America. And I will do this as soon as I can get Bill to remove my stockings just as he did on our wedding night-to Gennifer Flowers....

Your truly,

Your swinging' little hottie from Park Ridge '

To Mr. Rocky Wirtz:
Congratulations on yet another Blackhawks' Stanley Cup Championship! You have proven yourself to be an outstanding judge of sports talent on both the playing and management level.
If, sir, you have a few million dollars to spare, or have some acquaintances who share your passion and ability to produce winners, there is a neglected and abused Major League baseball team on the South Side of Chicago that badly needs new ownership. Suffering through a decade of decline, they have been used as a tax write-off by a penny-pinching Brooklyn (!!) Dodgers fan.
Opportunity awaits!

Great job by the command staff of C.P.D. last night. Downtown, United Center and Wrigleyville was all good. No major incidents of looting, rioting, fighting, etc. No violent crimes either. No shooting, no rapes, no murders. The command staff did a great job.

Wrigleyville citizen here to thank law enforcement for a job well done!

That was an intelligent crowd control strategy being used last night....blocking off the east-west neighborhood streets so that Clark was "exit only" seemed extremely effective.

I got a chance to chit chat with a few officers at the barricades and experienced an impressive level of professionalism at every turn.

THANK YOU to all the coppers on the job last night.

stay safe!

Very disappointed by the number of rioting revelers, overturned cars, er, wait, sorry about that, I must have been dreaming. Credit to everyone for a restrained celebration. Good for us and I'm sure the CPD appreciated the lack of animal behavior.

Nice job Blackhawks and their fans!

WOW, I really hate to say this, but Hockey doesn't appeal to all that live in the city and surrounding suburbs and that is why hockey is a sport that appeals to the somewhat educated, non violent people who just want to celebrate in a civil manner. It s tempting to just dismiss the Blackhawks championship, 3rd in 6 years as a Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire diversion - "Bread and Circus" . But, I'm not that cynical.

Our Blackhawks from top to bottom, from management, to the coaches to all the players, sports announcers and the fans all played as a team, won with style, sportsmanship and class.

I didn't notice a single display of poor sportsmanship the entire post season. The final winning goal by Patrick Kane was almost as good as the one he did "the hidden puck" in our first NHL Championship.

God bless our Blackhawks. Let's hope Chicago street gangs don't try to crash our street celebrations.

Saw the video on the trib site, where the coppers in wrigley try to arrest 2 men. The one cop is lucky the kid wasn't really trying to fight him, the cop was struggling a bit, and when it went to the ground the kid clearly had an advantage. At least the young copper had his crown cap on though!
Food for thought brothers and sisters......whether there are cameras rolling or not, use enough force fast enough to avoid putting yourself in a bad situation. Could have been a lot worse if the kid wanted to hurt the cop. If handled properly it may have not looked so well on video, but that's better than putting your safety in jeopardy.

Worked awful hard for those goals. Goaltenders today like having a giant rubber plug that fits into the goal -- gotta go close combat and hope a gap opens for a second.

6/16/2015 12:18:00 AM

That was not a "problem." It was a carefully-planned "event." The Bucket Boys had planned to use chunks of 2" x 4" to paddle down the river in their 5-gallon round boats, towing smoldering Redmoon Theater kayaks behind them in a spectacular display of, uh...

...and once more that 3" of monsoon rain wet all the pyro down, nothing but a little smoke...

Fortunately all were rescued by border collies wearing sunglasses and kerchiefs, and by French clowns on fifty-foot stilts.

Oh -- how'd the runoff from that newly hard-paved 606 go? Everyone for blocks on each side dragging soaked carpeting up the basement stairs and cursing, or what?

I am not paid to fight drunken idiots. If there isn't adequate support, the hell with it. I don't give a shit, if someone doesn't want to be arrested, adios. I am not fighting anyone again. I've been through that. I've been hurt, I've made the trips to the doctor and then the Medical Section. I've had medical bills denied when I am in box 1 of the arrest slip and asshole is charged with Agg Batt of a PO. No more. Break some bones with the metal baton and you get sued. Shoot and you get sued. Hesitate and you get hurt or killed. And then these judges don't give a shit if you get hurt. Fuck that. No thanks. No more.

Congrats and something to be proud to be from Chicago.

Enjoyed it but came home to a flooded basement as did many of my neighbors.

We always seem to get these storm of the century when there is an important game in Chicago and we get flooded in our neighborhoods. What's the connection you might ask.

It seems that the city channels the rainwater away from the United Center, or Wrigley or Soldier Field and we get it in our neighborhoods and into our basements. The city does not want to open the locks and let raw sewerage run into the lake, better off let it go into our basements.

Damn you! What the hell happened with DEEP TUNNEL?
Was that just a sinkohole for theft of our pension money.

Eli is good guy, but he's NOT a guy to run a District. He took an extreme biased positioned to those who were of Greek Origin even to those who weren't Greek but married to someone that was Greek. The last Cup Eli commanded he ended up in an ambulance & had no plan on how to handle that night. The place was in shambles to the point where 023 & 019 didn't even want to deal w/the other.
Here's the kicker.......A LOT of POs wanted to go to 017 to get away from Eli's impotence issues from a managerial aspect and now those POs that indeed did get to 017 are officially treading water. Eli will goof up there too. Again, I want to say that Eli was cool, but a manager Eli is not.
Keep this in mind.......Eli took one straight in the ass w/his 1st X/O. Iron Mike had to be a bitch to be around and expecting help intellectually from "Iron Mike" had to be demoralizing. Eli didn't know until the damage was done that "Iron Mike" was controlling the sheets behind his back on ALL three watches. Texts between "Iron Mike" and the W/S on Mids weren't just frequent, they were an every day occurrence. The W/S was feared by both Lts(one of whom is a Capt. now)and Bald Bull tool full advantage of Eli by choosing to be obsequious to "Iron Mike" and his psych patient games.
W/S, Bald Bull, actually had a rank about her that I couldn't define. She(BS) was essentially a boss w/out the salary of one. Came in on the early side obviously, but was gone with her Ewok before 05:00 too many times to count.
If these practices are allowed in 017 then the great Coppers of 017 will experience the same thing we did. That's so unfortunate.

I looked all over, nowhere is that in the orders. With tough guys like you there is no need. I broke a hand arresting an idiot drunk and wired on cocaine. Then Ed Burke's Finance Committee denied my medical bills. It had to go past a grievance to arbitration and finally the City paid. That was long after the bills went to collection. And I was in box 1 of the arrest report.

So I get paid to go through that? Fuck you. If I had paid the bill myself I would have a very hard time ever getting paid back. I'll shoot someone, tase them, mace them, metal baton. But going hands on? No way.
