- A man and a woman have died and at least 11 others were wounded during shootings across the city since Friday morning, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office and police.
Added to Thursday, we're at 5 dead and 19 wounded in just two days.

Is there a historical real estate time bomb set to explode in gentrifying cities like Chicago, New York, Boston, etc.? A lot of these older cities and Democratic enclaves have seen their neighborhoods close to downtown explode in real estate values. Most of that is done via TIF financing or a variant of. What happens when the tif tax exempt status expires? A real estate tax attorney brought this to my attention last night. A very interesting topic. This all seems like a mirage and politicians being who they are, they will only do what is in the interests of small parties instead of the whole city. More cronyism and more insiders benefiting from the hard work of other people who punch a time clock.

You are 100% wrong. Where is this so called explosion of crime? Let's deal with facts. If you do a iclear search for various crimes you will see that the long term rate has declined. This pattern is nation wide. Saying "crime is out of control" makes for good dinner conversation. But it simply isn't true. Technology has a lot to do with crime going down.

You aren't the first. We had to cary that thing around and get written up for years. Leroy Martin was nuts about wearing that hat. There were courtrooms at 1121 S State. An inspector would often be waiting inside and wrote up every policeman in uniform without the hat. A great big cheer went up when we could get away from that damn thing. And now it's back.
I was very sick some years back and accidentally cleaned out the squad car into a dumpster, crown hat included. I tried everything to get a new hat shield ordered. I would pay etc. No good. That star I wore for years was put on the lost star list. That shit about serial numbers on the stars is bullshit. Lose a shield and it is still a new star number for you. The department is as full of shit as ever.
I had already called Blackington, the maker of stars and shields, and knew the price and that the CPD did order new shields for some officers who lost them. But not for me. I didn't have my head up the right person's ass. The CPD owns copyright on the star and shield. They wouldn't make a shield on my say so even if I paid double. But if a bosses kid wanted one, well, that was different.

I think we're simply being lied to and the numbers are being fabricated.
The other thing is, who is being victimized? Perpetual underclass crime has always been there, and, quite frankly, has always meant jack shit. Losers killing losers means nothing. But now the underclass is victimizing nice people who have money, and money means publicity. Combined with new communications tech like the internet and 24/7 news channels and the perception of crime among normal people is way up.
Also, too many people are making too much easy money off the criminal justice system, and pumping up crime means more frantic people and frantic fearful people are prone to tolerate more fuckery. Recycling criminal vermin out into the free world pumps up the fear. "Fear up" is a psyops technique.

Maybe I'm an a--hole, but I don't even feel bad for the innocents anymore. I haven't seen any of the families of innocent victims holding any type of pro-police rallies supporting any type of proactive policing. When we start tossing cars and searching these savages, all we hear is harassment and profiling complaints. When the families start calling the reverends, Fr. Phleger, and the rest of the police hating activists and media out on their bullshit, I'll start caring again. Till then, my care is for my family, fellow officers and their families.
Crime is down , yeah , so are all the projects , half the homes in high crime areas are now abandoned or vacant lots .

Actually, Chalky had to step down because his appearance did not represent the victims he was suppose to outline. You see, Chalky is usually drawn in white or yellow chalk. Since, there's more black victims than white or Asians, the NAACP demanded the departure.
