- The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI were warning law enforcement Friday about the possibility of terrorist threats around the Fourth of July, unnamed authorities told CNN Friday. Officials circulated a joint intelligence bulletin that does not discuss "any known active threats," but does sound the alert about the potential for "heightened threats," CNN reported.

In the terrorism business for first responders "silence is not golden" it could be deadly! Homeland,FBI, are saying "unspecified threats" what do they really know? It has always amazed me why they think that their plans for the 4th of July holiday needed to be kept under lock and key until the very last minute. Do they honestly think that there have never been any leaks of these plans? Always have been. There is nothing so secret squirrel. Pretty stupid on their part.
Time to ban fireworks. These too can be used to make bombs and terror weapons.
We have to not only worry about terrorism, but economic terrorism. Imagine if ISIS or Al Queada blew up a dirty bomb on Michigan Avenue, Lincoln Park, Manhattan, etc. I am not even talking about a sophisticated dirty bomb. Just a bomb with various chemicals. It would render those areas inhabitable and cause hundreds of billions of dollars in damage. Something to think about. Please be alert and defend the Homeland. It's leader can't even formulate a plan to address The Englewoods, it can, but won't because it's going to offend some 'folks'. But the City sure has resources for today's Parade. The jihadis are going to show up here at some event and when they do, the City will deny it. They don't want panic and hysteria before they can prepare a spin for it.

Gay Pride Parade just now, someone spotted a "black backpack tied to the traffic light pole at Clark and Roscoe" and called it in right away, got it checked out. Good. After Boston, people are more aware.

Rahm Emanuel is the smartest man in any room he stands in.
He blew into town, picked an unnecessary fight with The Police
because his friends on Wall/LaSalle Streets want to get their hands
on all that Cop Pension money that's just sitting there unmolested
and not doing anything for them.
Then he escalated the fight by defunding the department, not hiring (enough)
and running the department on the cheap.
Bringing in McCarthy and Compstat was key to running CPD on the cheap.
Rahm figures he would just lean on his federal snitches to keep him
ahead of any threat so he could skate on devoting money to hiring and
training. The true mark of a mayor who doesn't give a shit about the safety
of his city and those who inhabit it.
Go figure...

No it's not... See I'm not a rubber and don't need to "be cool" like the guys of samcro motorcycle club... You guys know, the make believe fake TV show.. But you guys bought a Harley, got awesome tattoo sleeves and grew out your zero dark 30 special forces beard because you qualified with the carbine rifle and bought one because now you think your a tactical operator or something.. Me though, I stayed normal and real. I didn't have to pretend to be somebody im not. How do guys like you go from being normal your whole life, then all of a sudden you become cops and you have to get tattoos, long hair, special forces beards of all of a sudden become hardcore down south country boy who has to buy a huge obnoxious pick up truck... So many posers on this job

I see that we have some posts here tied to articles at Alex Jones Infowars Site, many of those posting criticisms of Homeland Security bulletins are Truthers.
They are probably not police officers, they don't know any police officers, and/or have little respect for police officers and do not know the sh-t that the police have gone through, and go through on a daily basis.
They do not know that there are police officers on special teams that operate undercover and have thwarted potential deadly attacks on Chicago, that these threats are sadly real.
Things that you police officers really don't talk about here because it is classified information.
These truthers are the ones that see Homeland security bulletins as a scenario for the government to be able to do "false flag scenarios", which the truthers think give the government more control over the citizens
Remember most truthers have little care or respect for the police and many of them are not on the same team as the police.
Many of them are actual trolling rebel rousing trouble makers.
Its sad to see so many people with little care or respect for the police, That is until they have their ass in a sling and need to be rescued or have some arrested.

Not to mention, I had tats before I got on the job, some in places that would make your mother blush. Went and chased "Terry Tali" around the mountains in AFG for a year, grew a beard & long hair over there and in fact I did grow up in the south! A little about the "pipe hittin" BAMF'rs I was with overseas, all cops mind you and some from little hick towns, half had tats, beards and long hair and about half were clean shaven and "pristine" as you might call them. Every single one of them, regardless of their looks, would run circles around your ass when the shit hits the fan.

Yes, this past year has seen an awful lot of negative, anti-police publicity, and while the politicians dont truly like us or care about us, the fact is, They Need Us (The police). The reason is : The inevitability of violent crime in cities with substantial minority populations. That Ferguson-Baltimore ,anti-police, protesting crap is already being forgotten as violent crime spikes in cities across America.Politicians who only realy care about their political survival, realize that while the anti-police stories carried the news days for a while, that is soon forgotten when the gang bangers start dropping kids with errant and purposely aimed gunfire. Most minorities dont like cops, but hate the gangs even more when their kids are being killed on the streets. (They sure arent going to blame the activities of the kids themselves or their own parenting skills)The politicians are under pressure to "do something about it" and thus, they need the police and ultimately will come back and sit there and say, "OK, police, what do we have to do to stop these killings?" Whether it is bringing back stop and frisk, hiring more cops, purchasing better euipment, or dishing out OT money (VRI) they will reluctantly do so to save their own skins. Rahm is a first class Adam Henry but realizes he wont make it to higher office if he is the mayor of the murder capitol of America.
