We Just Had a Thought
Has anyone been thinking about the end of summer parade coming up? Yes, we're talking about the Bud Billiken parade. Has anyone thought about what a shit-show this event if going to be this year?
- Ferguson, Baltimore, Cleveland
- D.O.J. "investigations"
- the usual race-baiters spouting their BS
The rhetoric and nonsense is going to be piled on waist high and lord knows what the amp-ed up sound systems and floats are going to be spouting at coppers lining the route. Plan on hearing a lot of "Fuck the police" and "I Can't Breath" t-shirts along with a lot of "Hands Up" gestures that have zero basis in reality.

My favorite float hands down had to be the "Twerkin for Travon" at the last Biliken parade I worked. What a dumpster fire...

Why not cancel the Bud Billiken Day Parade this year and say it's because "the neighborhood" has been too violent" and it's not good for the children?
They have cancelled other events in Chicago due to..."Fill in the Blank".
Why get all upset and worried about it? Just cancel it.
Let it sink in that there are consequences for bad behavior. Make it a teaching moment.

A parade named for a fictitious character. Yeah it's to get kids motivated for school reopening. A moving circus which the media fawns over and seldom reports the various criminal acts before/after&during the parade. Last year's shooting was labeled as the "1st shooting to mar the parade" - when it should have been labeled "the first we would ever dare report." Someone should try to sue the promoters for causing another opportunity for mayhem/traffic congestion/misuse of city services but that would be racist. And politicians always lead the parade - then drive to their float said they can wave & be seen a second time.
Mr. Billiken calling Mr. Billiken .... Lisa Madigan is looking for a photo op. Where are you Mr. Billiken! Supt Mc Carthy would like to swear you in as a junior police! The mayor wants you to meet his film producing brother so the rest of the country knows of your good deeds!
To all the CPD/CFD working that day - stay safe so we can bitch about this wasteful spending next year. Bread & Circuses, right Rahmulus?
