What Matters Again??

  • The photographs went online earlier this month after a 27-year-old man was gunned down in South Los Angeles. One showed a man flashing a chrome handgun from his jacket pocket. In another, a young man held a pistol in each hand.

“Better wake up,” one person wrote on Instagram. “It's a war goin' on.”

“This area ain't safe right now,” someone else posted with a map showing a portion of South L.A.

The warnings of increased gang violence intensified across social media platforms this weekend after more than half a dozen shootings in South L.A. left one man dead and 12 people wounded.

The postings created an echo chamber in which it was difficult to determine what was a real threat and what was rumor. One of the most incendiary claims was that a gang had vowed 100 days of violence after the 27-year-old man was killed on July 17, sparking alarming hashtags such as #100days100nights and #PrayforLA on Twitter and other sites.
The Chief is downplaying the significance of the threats - what else is he going to do? But he met with his gang officers and extra patrols are in the affected areas. Based on how the cockroaches like Chief Queef and his crew get on social media and the number of murders that follow, you can't discount this stupidity.

And now the lamestream media actually covered "chief's" announcement tonight that he's running for Mayor of Chicago!!! Hope he comes back to campaign so he can be served with the outstanding warrants for his arrest. Then again, maybe not since that would be another media 3 ring circus.
Stay out West & perform via hologram. A big thank you to Hammond, Ind. PD for shutting down "chieF's scam benefit for the dead toddler. That child's murder was inspired by the violent lyrics of "chief" and the media gives air time to his excrement.

With all this social media crap, glad we have SCC to keep us aware of this potential scenario.
Stay safe.

It seems as if posting a picture online, taunting your rivals, is the kiss of death. Heard through the grapevine that one of the "victims" of the double homicide on the 500 block of Avers last weekend, posted a picture on Twitter. He was holding a gun(s), saying, "You can't catch me!" Well guess what M-F? They got you!

Now here's a question for ya...will Gary come up with a new category in the homcides column, Death by Social Media?

This shit hasn't changed in decades Chiraq

Poverty and organized crime have long been associated with the area: a 1931 "map of Chicago's gangland" by Bruce-Roberts, Incorporated, notes Locust and Sedgwick as "Death Corner": "50 murders: count 'em".[5] At first, the housing was integrated and many residents held jobs. This changed in the years after World War II, when the nearby factories that provided the neighborhood's economic base closed and thousands were laid off. At the same time, the cash-strapped city began withdrawing crucial services[1] like police patrols, transit services, and routine building maintenance. Lawns were paved over to save on maintenance, failed lights were left for months, and apartments damaged by fire were simply boarded up instead of rehabilitated and reoccupied. Later phases of public housing development (such as the Green Homes, the newest of the Cabrini–Green buildings) were built on extremely tight budgets and suffered from maintenance problems due to the low quality of construction.

Unlike many of the city's other public housing projects such as Rockwell Gardens or Robert Taylor Homes, Cabrini–Green was situated in an affluent part of the city. The poverty-stricken projects were actually constructed at the meeting point of Chicago's two wealthiest neighborhoods, Lincoln Park and the Gold Coast. Less than a mile to the east sat Michigan Avenue with its high-end shopping and expensive housing. Specific gangs "controlled" individual buildings, and residents felt pressure to ally with those gangs in order to protect themselves from escalating violence.

During the worst years of Cabrini–Green's problems, vandalism increased substantially. Gang members and miscreants covered interior walls with graffiti and damaged doors, windows, and elevators. Rat and cockroach infestations were commonplace, rotting garbage stacked up in clogged trash chutes (it once piled up to the 15th floor), and basic utilities (water, electricity, etc.) often malfunctioned and were left unrepaired. On the exterior, boarded-up windows, burned-out areas of the facade, and pavement instead of green space—all in the name of economizing on maintenance—created an atmosphere of decay and government neglect. The balconies were fenced in to prevent residents from emptying garbage cans into the yard, and from falling or being thrown to their deaths. This created the appearance of a large prison tier, or of animal cages, which further enraged community leaders of the residents.[6]

not possible. LA just outlawed firearms magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds. so, i bet it will be pretty hard for the gangs to live up to their promises with the new law in effect. see? law makers are actually DOING something productive and effective to curb the problem of "gun" violence. /s

Watched news yesterday for 1 hour starting at 1600, stories "police officers in New York" inside target store arresting trespassing thug, showing how many officers to take savage in custody they feel to much force used!

Next story a police officer in another state throwing peanuts in homeless guys mouth!

Next Story People in Chicago (Blacks) mad at police saying "police are to rough"

Next Girl that committed suicide tape of her being booked as Texas people are getting "death threats"

Bottom line watch yourself, everything you do is potentially a situation where Chicago could be next to have lawless people attack and start major trouble for taxpayers (to put in in politically correct language).

Don't be officer "bulls-eye" be a "tough target" the lawless don't want to abide by laws, in their communities they don't like the police, don't want the police OK so be it!

Love it when the so called bosses want you to "go get them" and when as the crap hits the fan they say "I didn't mean it like that," or the famous "I never said anything like that."

The media and elected panderers have created this anti-police bias situation, dont lose your freedom, home, family, pension, savings for any criminal, easier to write a report than to go through the court system in the most corrupt county in America! What color matters? What lives matter the most in these troubling times? "BLUE LIVES MATTER" May God Bless CPD officers and all officers throughout our nation! Lets hope that a law and order type of real man like Donald Trump gets in to turn this awful situation around!

Nothing like making it much easier for thug lawyers to go after hard working aggressive officers! Can you fell the lawsuit love? Going to look into these aldermen contributors to see collusion maybe? Anti-police sentiment guess aldermen want no policing in black and brown communities?

29 July 2015,L.A.Times."Defying sharp warnings from gun rights groups, Los Angeles thrust itself into the national debate over gun control Tuesday, as city lawmakers voted unanimously to ban the possession of firearm magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.

Such magazines have been “the common thread” in almost all the mass shootings that have devastated the country, from Newtown to Virginia Tech to Columbine, said Juliet Leftwich, legal director for the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence. Backers of the plan said it was a small but meaningful step to minimize the bloodshed, by forcing attackers to at least interrupt their rampages to stop and reload".........Problem solved! Now if we outlaw six packs of beer and quarts of booze to three packs and pints only, we can end DUIs.

Nothing is going change until the whites are routinely victimized as the silent majority of blacks are by they're own. It's time to let those with CCL's pick up the fight then. Eventually even the attorneys will be living in fear and maybe just then law and order will prevail and public opinion can change from ridicule to support for law enforcement.

In the meantime, Mr. and Ms Citizen, stay in your car or get out of car. Drive off with or without your citation. Feel empowered to say and do what you want. That’s right. Do whatever you want. But don’t be surprised when your fellow protestor or neighbor is doing what he wants and now you’re the victim. I don’t enjoy infringing upon a person’s constitutional right because it lessens my own. And if you want respect from me then treat me with respect.

And as for you Sgt, Lt, Cpt, (sorry I like most of you) Chiefs, (don’t know any of you) Supt.(go pound sand) you want arrests or tickets? Feel free to go out there and do the job all over again. But haven't you heard what the majority is saying? They don't need nor want proactive policing. They’ve told us over and over who are we to tell them.

As for the politician’s who claim to be for the citizens and their rights. The citizen doesn’t want the law in its current state to apply to them. So change it. Stop putting our poor cook county judicial system in jeopardy by having these judges make up rulings as they go along appeasing both the officer and the law-biting citizen. Lets face it. You legalized Cannabis. Now legalize whatever else they want - narcotics, traffic laws, public assembly without permits, etc. Just change these outdated, unwarranted laws so I can have a more clear view of where this county is heading so I can better determine my and family’s path.

And finally, give us technology that is reliable and expedient. Technology, that takes the guesswork out of whom we’re dealing with on the street. The full version of LEADS 2000 would be a nice start with an infrastructure that doen’t routinely crash. So when I’m told ‘just run my name’ by the citizen on the street I’ll be able to do that and actually get a picture of the person I’m dealing with in a timely manner.

For a county that is service orientated Cook County/Chicago has a long way to go.

That is NOT what the "majority" wants. You cant show me any proof that the "majority", "#blacklivesmatter", regular citizens, or politicians want cops to NOT do their jobs (well politicians are probably a different story-- they're as clueless as most police officers are as to why there is a so called "anti-police" atmosphere in the country). What police can't seem to get wrapped around their heads is people don't want cops to murder and brutalize UNARMED people (in some cases it's justified, others, not so much).

No one is shaming cops for shooting a person because that person posed an actual threat, I.e. Is in the act of ruthlessly beating you (note: in the act of doing.. At that moment, not when the offender runs away and you want payback), the offender points a gun at you (if it turns out to be a phone, welp, get ready for a shit storm to come your way), the offender lunges at you with a weapon or under certain circumstances that you can only shoot (the "majority" will rather a taser, but THIS is only a situation a cop has control over; there won't be Any Monday morning quaterbacking from me, personally. Either way, expect a possible shit storm), and of course, an offender shoots at you!

There is evidence upon evidence of plenty of police officers beating people for no reason and killing people for no reason. that is what the "majority" doesn't want. Factor in overwhelming social media "reporting" where the "majority" has access to more possible witnesses, videos, pictures, and quicker leaks of info in general, and you get the type of atmosphere you have now. Especially when it's clear a police officer at one point violated a right/and or broke a law/protocol. it is YOU who doesn't want to do the job(and plenty other police officers, including the owners of this blog or at the very least it is suggested) because it SEEMS they don't want to do their job if the "majority" is going to get riled up because they shot an unarmed person for maybe no reason and the "majority" in turn wants an investigation.

It isn't that the "majority" doesn't want cops to not do their jobs, as I've already stated, it's more so like the "majority" wants officers like you to not do the job (or cops like you/your statement)-- beacuse it is dangerous for the public, and not to mention it (your statement) is just an excuse to not do your job. I don't want my taxes going to anyone who is supposed to work for my taxes but they refuse to -- proactively. Do you believe you can't do proactive police work with out killing or brutalizing an unarmed citizen? That's alarming. Because that's all the "majority" objects to and that is a fact. And I'm more than positive that you can do your job without brutalizing someone, but statements like that make it seem like you can't or don't want to. Once again, that's very alarming.

Now maybe you could kindly show me where the "majority" has stated police officers are not needed for proactive police work.

GoFundMe skims a percentage of everything donated. And they refuse campaigns to help anyone accused of a crime, even in situations like this. The fundraiser for Ferguson officer Wilson was tied up because GoFundMe shut it down (when Brown's family complained about it) and held up the money, refusing to release it until a charitable foundation stepped in and took over the fundraising effort.

Best to contact their local FOP and see if a direct contribution site or account has been set up.

Where is this evidence upon evidence of police brutality? Then you mention "this blog"? Without this blog there would be the information sharing today. I remember life before this blog, when a few individual officers created local newsletters to share information. Thank god for the blog despite your opinions. Another thing you fail to address. Where is our leadership for the street officers? The guidance, training and help for officers? The only thing I hear at roll calls are contact cards without reasonable suspicion? Pressure for contact cards putting officers in a bad situation? Hiding crime, changing case reports, down grading crime, pressure to make stops. Training and in service training absolutely sucks. Officers read the news stories every day about anti police events. Without proper leadership, how should young officers interpret the stories? Ask veteran officers or sergeants who do not care? Give me a break.

I want to do the job but some reasonable leadership and guidance would really help. Maybe more training on street stops, contact cards and how to avoid problems? Wow, what a thought? More guidance from the clueless white shirts. A veteran sgt with street knowledge are worth their weight in gold but are rare. So, I along with other street officers will continue to read this "blog" for information and avoid situations on the street. I need to know this department will support me. maybe you could actually talk to officers on the street about their concerns and fears???
