Coppers and Firefighter Injured

  • Two Chicago police officers and a firefighter were injured at a fire early Thursday, according to authorities.

The officers were taken to Metro South Medical Center as a precaution after they inhaled smoke, according to police. The firefighter was treated at the scene but not taken to a hospital.

The fire was reported about 3:55 a.m. at a vacant house in the 12400 block of South State Street and it was extinguished within about 45 minutes, authorities said.
Careful out there boys and girls. Best wishes to all involved.

A thorough recovery to all involved. New lungs are hard to come by, so follow doctor's orders and take as much time as you need to heal properly.

No vacant house is worth some silly attempt at a green ribbon. Bad enough some of the stupid buildings the firemen go into so they can say they got in the "shit."

If you don't know for a 100% fact that some child was carelessly left behind, than stay the fuck away from a fire.

Firemen are trained that all buildings may be occupied until proven otherwise. Squatters, vagrants, and even an arsonist could be inside.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

FIREMEN are trained.

For better or worse they are taught to go into these rat nests "just in case" some bag of shit is still inside. They also do it with fire retardant clothes, equipment, breathing apparatus, and WATER. Police don't have any of that shit so if you don't have some extreme situation stay the hell away and let the hose tuggers miss a meal or a nap to do their job.
