Guilty

  • Bryant Brewer was found guilty Tuesday of killing Chicago Police Officer Thor Soderberg five years ago.

Brewer was found guilty of several charges, including first degree murder of a police officer by Cook County Judge Tim Joyce after a bench trial that started last week at the George Leighton Criminal Courthouse.

Brewer will be sentenced Sept. 9, according to the Cook County state’s attorney’s office. Brewer’s public defender could not be reached late Tuesday.

Soderberg’s widow, Jennifer Loudon, said after court that Brewer won’t be able to hurt anyone else. “Speaking for widows everywhere, it doesn’t take away the pain. It doesn’t erase the difficulty of going on with life,”
RIP Officer Soderberg. A small measure of peace to the family.

Too bad there is no death sentence in Illinois.

That would be real justice.

Next case.

How about a few hundred years, just to make the point?

Time to re-open Tamms -- "where you can't get anywhere by changing your behavior because no behavior is allowed."

Listen to the towboats blow out on the river -- w-a-a-a-y down state...

"Today is the first day of the rest of your life."

Sadly, I could see some Judges accepting the BS, and returning a Not Guilty.

Has SCC thought of endorsing a "throw them all out" position on judicial retention elections?

FRY HIM!!

Oh...wait...we can't. I *almost* forgot, ex-gov and Convicted FELON, George Ryan -- democrat in RINO clothing and all around political whore -- cleared Death Row and then colluded with Mike Madigan to abolish the Death Penalty in Illinois. Even for convicted COP KILLERS !!

------ That asshole Ryan did that just so he could use that as *proof* in his upcoming Federal Corruption trial(a) of the compassion he had 'for the poor and the downtrodden'(LOL) who never have a chance in Illinois' **racist** criminal justice system. In short, he was attempting to sway a future jury into a Not Guilty verdict because he was really a swell guy. (some younger folks here might not know about this) ------

So I hope that when Ryan 'kicks', he has to share a place in Hell with every f--king Cop Killer he let free or subsequently avoided the DP thanks to his bullshit!

(and NO. I never voted for that POS! Not for Gov, not Lt Gov, and for Sec of State)

-------
(a) Everyone with an IQ over 50 knew the Feds had Ryan nailed and was going to be indicted, tried, and sent off to prison to join Blago and other pols in 'The Illinois Politician Wing' of Federal Prison.

Kudos to States Attorneys Brian Sexton and Pat McGuire, the Area One detectives for their pristine investigation and preparation of this case. And the judicial prudence of Tim Joyce.

O.T. 10-1 Last Night In 025

There was a 10-1 last night in the 25th district. Everyone did a great job. Kudos to the aggressive foot patrol PPO's for stopping the piece of shit and the beat officers who responded to the scene. Looks like we need more aggressive policing around North & Laramie. Let the community know who is the boss.

Iv'e been voting a straighr NO to all judges for retention for as long as I can remember. Those who deserve to be retained are not hurt and those who deserve to be tossed have my vote cast against them. The worst of the worst, regardless of how many judcial watch dog associations recommend against their retention, still get re-elected. Unfortunately, my theory and apparently yours, only works up to a certain percentage. If everyone did the same, the good judges would also be tossed. Maybe 40% would work? I don't know. Any other thoughts out there?

We need to begin thinking "outside" the box again. First, as long as we appear to be saddled with Planned Parenthood let's send all death row prisoners to them for a "post-term retroactive abortion". PP could then sell the carcasses to a vendor to use as Soylent Chow. Let's work smarter not harder.

For those who think the death penalty would be good, I disagree, Dying is easy, living is hard. You just die and your physical body decomposes. Just like if you killed a deer or a chicken and it would naturally rot and decompose. On the other hand, living in a cage for the next several decades is better punishment. Each day will be like a slow day in hell to this animal and I am willing to bet he will wish he was dead. I've worked in Cook County Jail and I am very good at reading body language. Trust me, after being locked up in a cage, even the most hardened and toughest criminal breaks down.

Please know that ASA Brian Sexton and his partners worked their asses off on this case and they deserve our gratitude. In addition, there are many more State's Attorney's that do the same for us without us realizing it. Please remember guys like Brian Sexton before any of us slam the ASA's without reason.

Everyone with an IQ over 40 knows George Ryan went to Federal Prison 5 years before Blagojevich saw the inside of a Federal prison cell. Blago joined Ryan. That was 4 Illinois governors since 1968 gone to prison.

Slightly off topic - today i saw an email from FLOP Pres. Deano loudly announcing the verdict. This short email had each sentence end with an exclamation point. This poorly written communique gave the tone that the FLOP was instrumental in reaching the verdict. Deano, for a PhD. to write this drivel is extremely embarrassing. It is also infuriating that this is the only email i've seen this entire summer! With issues such as the pension, uniforms/tattoos, Stop&Frisk receipts, IAD subpoena power & CALEA to name a few you have not kept the membership informed-let alone try to place our position in the public dialogue.

Get off your duff & become the leader that you claim to be. Better yet, resign and let the 1st VP try to repair the damage that your inactivity has caused.

Finally - please do not use the trial of a cop killer to advance your non-agenda.

RIP PO THOR SODERBERG!!

You guys are really gullible to think that politicians and judges want justice served... GULLIBLE!

1. Asshole kills and Asshole--- how much time will he get?

2. Asshole kills Cop--- I can bet you 99 to 1, he will get less time than if he was to had killed and asshole.

This is the society we live in people.... now write that 100 times on a black board and don't forget it.

If it's all the same to you, I'd just as soon NOT spend millions of tax payers dollars on keeping this animal alive so you can feel better about yourself.

In a decade or so, the appeals will start and people like you will start to feel sorry for this animal. Maybe it wasn't his fault. Maybe he was some kind of victim, too. Maybe the criminals at the Northwest Innocence Project can spin another web of lies that suckers like you will fall for and spring this animal. This animal will find fools to dredge this up for the family to suffer some more.

If it's all the same to you, I'd just as soon execute this waste of humanity today and save us good citizens all that. You and you ilk can sit back and wring your hands while sitting on your pedestal. You think badly of us, be will sleep just fine.

I looked into Thor's fathers eyes at the wake, and I agree with 10:05's observation; "The proudest father, but with a hole in his heart." I teared up as I made eye contact with him.

I would like to say that I personally saw the F.B.I. guy, Peter Brust, take down the remaining "crime scene tape," from the top of the chain link fence, a couple of weeks after the murder. I will be forever grateful for the spirit of the moment.
