Ald. "Line 'em up Joe" Moreno was drunk and, perhaps under the influence of other substances, at the East Village Association meeting (12th District) tonight. His behavior bordered on the bizarre. He's the alderman SCC eviserated recently when he introduced the ordinance requiring us to no longer "stop and frisk" (hard to stop doing something you weren't doing) and give receipts out to people we don't arrest.

According to sources, he was slamming down beers, but by his red eyes, inability to focus -- eyes or thoughts -- and vicious personal comments about citizens there, it was clear to attendees there was something more going on. Someone recorded the rants, so hoping it gets leaked to the media.

The department just rescinded the Nylon Belt order on 14 SEP 15 No longer can you wear the nylon with a black outer carrier. You must now buy a Molle vest if you want to continue to wear the Nylon belt. Fuck being grandfathered because that was the uniform order when you bought your gear or give anyone leeway to order a Molle vest. Inspectors were out gigging people in area south today.

A virulent antipolice campaign over the past year—initially fueled by a since-discredited narrative about a police shooting in Ferguson, Mo.—has made police officers reluctant to do their jobs. The Black Lives Matter movement proclaims that the police are a lethal threat to blacks and that the criminal-justice system is pervaded by racial bias. The media amplify that message on an almost daily basis. Officers now worry about becoming the latest racist cop of the week, losing their job or being indicted if a good-faith encounter with a suspect goes awry or is merely distorted by an incomplete cellphone video.

Are sergeants getting gigged for not admonishing officers with uniform infractions .
Why are inspectors receiving xo/ captain pay ?
That job should be held by a sergeant , if uniform , grooming standards are observed on the third watch , is the XO/captain written up.
Are inspectors or IAD monitoring activity of the equals xo/captains , do they work a full tour , swipe in and out

After a job transfer, I recently moved back to Chicago (Old Town). I've always been a supporter of the police. Frankly, I don't know how you officers put up with it.

I have a question. If you check the city light pole on the northeast corner of Sedgwick and Division Streets, you'll notice that a silver or light gray rod extends up beyond the streetlamp arm. It is not a stop light or speed camera and it doesn't have the Chicago Police logo and a flashing blue light. There's another one on the street light a block west at Clybourn Ave. on the northwest corner.

WHAT ARE THESE THINGS? Please explain.

Write me up. I will take my day. We are going to be inspected by a guy that hasn't seen the street in a patrol capacity in eons? These holier than thou inspectors need to go work. How about the guys in dreads? How about either sex wearing 8 earrings? Full beard with no card? Yeah yeah yeah...I get it. I'm out of uniform. The problem I have is that they change the rules in the middle of the game. This guy and his hand picked idiots need to go back to NYPD!

You don't need a new vest; just a new vest cover. Shitty of them to gig people, though. Weasels.

AUTHORIZATIONS / RESTRICTIONS:

1. The ballistic nylon duty gear will only be worn in conjunction with the MOLLE overshirt carrier.

Can someone tell the 003rd District Commander to go back to Management School and learn to address his people.
Apparently they had a shooting yesterday and he berated a decent Lt. And several Sgt.'s after going into a tizzy about another shit head getting shot on 66/Cottage. Guess what bossman, your in the 003rd District and gang members are going to get shot. That is not a reason to scream, spit and foam at the mouth and further demoralize ALL of your supervisory staff in front of a bunch of PO's. One of the female Sgt.'s was so upset that she began to cry and hyperventilate and was almost rushed to the Hospital. Do you actually think that is going to make them work harder? LMAO! Activity is way down and crime is out of control and at an all time high in 003 since they moved GE. If I was GMAC I would look to replace him as well as the little two face XO. This Commander has a mutiny on his hands and ALL watches have shut down. You go get your own fucking contact cards... We are done! Good luck at CompStat brotha!

Hey retard it is new. Learn how to read

Old order allowed allowed you two choices for nylon belt
Nylon belt with standard black vest or Nylon belt with Molle .

New order eliminates option of nylon belt with standard black vest carrier and only allows it with Molle

My gripe is the Molle vest is absolutely retarded for patrol duties. It's easy for bad guy to grab on to,pouches don't fit tight an it looks like shit w no pocket to store anything. They should have eliminated that not the use of the standard vest w nylon

Gee, doesn't she know she can be an Army ranger or even a Marine Corps infantry-person now? Of course, she'll have to stop getting the vapors and blubbering because some asshole lost his temper.

Darling, I know you love the pay, the easy work, months of vacation per year, but, you need to either get your head on straight or, I know, get some boss to put you in an inside job. Don't worry, just because you're not very old and some old copper could do that, it's the breaks, you're special.

2:45 @ 9/15 - Sounds like part of the infrastructure for our Mobile Data Terminals (which quite often are down). If you used to live in Chicago, why be @ Clybourn & Division unless you already have a CCW permit. There still are former CHA rats which remained in the area. Just because the hi-rises were torn down does not make the area safer. If you want a non-police opinion ask the firefighters at the firehouse down the street & they'll give you an earful. We usually would label you "a report # waiting for the time & beat of occurance."
Now that you're back - check out the website for crime stats in your neighborhood and the areas that you frequent. And remember that there are fewer police patrols than the last time you lived here. Right Rahmulus? Right Mc Streetlight?
Hey Garry -'did you know that a missed shot could damage these MDT REPEATERS?? Another reason to keep your target practice at the range!!

Thanks for your woman hating rant......we all feel enlightened.....sorry you are too dumb to pass a test and probably too much of an asshole to get someone to put you in merit. While crying and hyperventilating seems utterly ridiculous to me, dont paint us all with one brush. Some of us are there ans in it just like you, and we dont cry when we get yelled at.

245: that is a gun shot detector installed nearly 20 years ago, now non functioning. It was supposed to analyze sound waves and determine the exact location of a gun shot. Never used. Besides, not the most difficult thing to determine by other means.

If I could have had a light weight nylon gun belt with tactical suspenders under my body armor from day one on this job maybe I wouldn't be on pain pills and unable to walk or climb stairs very far.

I used a nylon belt with suspenders at the end of my career and I was amazed at how light it was. But the damage was already done.

The officer's backs, as in spine should be considered.

All too often these "Uniform Committee" people are making decisions looking at photos of cops wearing uniforms and equipment standing up in photos. Not actually testing them in the field, getting in and out of cars, in all weather and so forth.
