This is a "Safe Passage"?

The Department released a pamphlet of the so-called "Safe Passage" routes across the city to the affected Districts recently. This one caught a couple of eyes:

We certainly hope everyone in this ::ahem:: Safe Passage area is using proper....protection.

Anyone catch the article on abc 7 about Joey "weed" Bataglia? Moron was fired from CPD years ago for trying to buy weed off an IAD officer (moron)!! A bunch of sympathizers cried foul. Now, this ass clown is arrested for threatening the Lake County coroners office. Apparently Joey "weed" Bataglia is demanding that Lt. Glieniwicz death be ruled a suicide. Apparently he tried to conceal the call, which he made from his own cell phone, by dialing *67 before making the call!! Stay classy, Joe! I worked with this loser at VSEP and he was a loud mouth asshole then, and it looks like nothing has changed. I'm curious what his sympathizers have to say now!? Loser

WHOA!... I thought I was having a flash-back.

Except for that (ahem) *interesting graphic*, if I didn't know better I'd say I was looking at a 'Xerox' copy of an Architectural drawing aka: 'Blueprint' -- which haven't really been 'blue' in over 40 years (but that's another story).

I'm not kidding that's how walls are drawn. With the streets names being room names, and that heavy dash as a wall construction type like a Fire Wall. Though that type shown would be only one of a few hundred drawings in the set. Like a few with all the dimensions and notes.

Thanks to computers and 'CAD' drawings there's almost too much info given now in a set of construction plans. ('almost' being the operative word)

Preckwinkle Praises Accomplishments of Cook County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management as Michael Masters Departs Post

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle announced today that Michael Masters, the executive director of the Cook County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, will leave his position at the end of September to join strategic consulting firm The Soufan Group as senior vice president.

“We are grateful to Michael for his years of service to the residents of Cook County,” Preckwinkle said. “As I often mention, when I took office, the Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management was one of two County agencies that I knew was under investigation by various entities. Michael effectively transitioned the department to one that has not only made the safety and security of our communities a top priority, but that is now recognized as a national model in multiple areas. The programs instituted under his leadership have made our municipalities more resilient and our County more secure.”

Since joining the Preckwinkle administration four years ago, Masters has overseen the development of comprehensive planning, information-sharing, operations, logistics, training, cyber security and grants management programs. Under Masters’ leadership, the department increased the amount of federal grant funding received by the County, using those funds to develop innovative programs that support local, state and federal partners; address natural hazards and information security threats; counter targeted violence and protect critical infrastructure, as well as communal spaces such as schools and houses of worship; and train residents in resiliency.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve as President Preckwinkle’s executive director of Homeland Security and Emergency Management,” Masters said. “I am proud of the work that we have done to undertake an organizational redesign of the department, developing innovative programs that have enhanced the safety and security of Cook County and our residents while serving as an example to other jurisdictions. I am – similarly – confident in the state of the department and its ability to have an ongoing positive impact on our regional preparedness through a whole community, all-hazards approach. I am grateful for the opportunity to work for this administration and look forward to continuing to have a positive impact on public safety.”

What kind of boss looks at this? Thats like when "Smart coppers" found the gang reference in the city sticker drawing which Susie Mendoza city clerk thought was OK, then she gave the kid $1,000.00 as a booby prize! Who checks this stuff? People are paid big salaries and cannot spot anything! time for all new elected and all new bosses the clowns need to leave the building!

Why are we paying parents to take their kids to school, and stand outside "funnin" with others? How many city resources wasted? Why not fund the pension first for the hard working Blue shirt coppers? Why not if your on link you have to be there to monitor the kids? Watched Trump the other night he said "people on welfare want to work and I will make sure they do!" Lets hope it's like during the depression where if you received any government aid you had to work on building roads, this country is in bad shape time for them to work again, watch Trump does this crime goes down, welfare rolls plumment win!Win!

OT --

So what was with Oak Park/015/025 this fine afternoon? Out for a bike ride, OPPD heading lights-on, east towards Austin Ave. just south of Taylor Park, could hear stuff coming from all over, than 2-3 helos, one mostly black, larger/newer, with a fluorescent orange nose hovering mostly over NE corner Taylor Park (Ridgeland/Berkshire) and than an older white helo with blue vertical stabilizer circling, circling all over, general North/Austin area. They worked it north into Galewood, too. Could not make out any markings on a/c with my old eyes.

Obvious they weren't looking for a parking violation. Anyone?

No noticeable smell of napalm...nice to get some sun, anyway, but, jeez.
