Coordinating Violence

  • The Cook County Board has approved appointing a gun violence coordinator who will be expected to “live, eat, breathe and sleep gun violence,” reports WBBM [...].

Commissioner Richard Boykin, who is behind the idea, said the yet-to-be named gun violence coordinator will certainly have his or her work cut out for them with roughly 2,500 shootings in the city this year so far.

“This will be the first gun violence coordinator, to my knowledge, in the United States of America,” Boykin said.

“The Cook County Board heard the people who said this is intolerable, we’ve got to change it,” said Jesus “Chuy” Garcia, chairman of the Criminal Justice Committee.

Boykin said he hopes the person is in place before the end of the year.
Well, let us be among the first to say that coordinating gun violence is loooooong overdue. All these people (and folks) running around with guns, firing willy-nilly, wounding thousands who can't even begin to pay their bills must end.

First up should be "Target Identification" and "Checking Your Backstop." Those two courses alone would cut down on the "Unintended Victim" phenomenon almost overnight. Next, "Controlling Your Weapon." And finally, "Getting Away With It," which unfortunately, seems to be the course that all of the shooters in recent memory have no problem passing.

You know what might be some good alternatives instead of expanding government? How about some of these courses?
  • "The Present Father"
  • "Complete Families"
  • "I an NOT a Ho - A Lesson in Self Respect"
  • "The Pitfalls of Materialism"
  • "Passing 3rd Grade (and 4th, and 5th, etc)"
  • "Respect for Others"
  • "How to Earn a Living - Step One: Laborer"
  • "How to Earn a Living - Step Two: Assembly Lines"
  • "Conflict Resolution Without Guns"
So the only question now is who gets this new highly paid government spot that will waste more and more tax money - Ernie Brown or Jody Weis? Charlie Williams is the outside shot. You think we're joking?

I hate the term "gun violence". It focuses everything on just one aspect of overall violent behavior. There is plenty of violence to go around in our troubled communities. "The fight against gun violence" gives one the impression that once that fight is won, everything else will be better. Nonsense.

I just hope the new gun violence coordinator will be able to hold it together mentally. I would think the job would soon result in shell shock, combat fatigue or post-traumatic stress disorder. So much concentrated violence is enough to drive even a politician mental, or even crazy after awhile. Maybe that is why no other large city in the world has such a position.

The best person for the violence coordinator would be the legendary 1020/1070. He is the best at coordinating post shooting missions and contact card missions. He is hands down the best at taking command and control over any situation and, takes over the zone as he barks out his jibba jabber. Not so long ago at a fire scene, he commandeered all but 1 unit from 010 to control a fire scene. Now that takes skill and experience to have control over so many units at a fire scene.

If anything Charlie will take his skills to Philly or, with the Clinton's return to the White House all but assured, he will take over the DEA or BATF. Charlie ain't taking over a job fit for a Suburban Lieutenant. Hell his ace Eddie Gilmore just now did a di di mao for the US Marshall job for the ND/IL.

In case you missed it earning a living has been outsourced and offshore or delegated to illegal immigrants. This frees up Americans to do things such as what we are seeing.

Don't be stupid. Working and earning for a living is so 20th century bullshit.

The Social Security Administration has just released wage statistics for 2013, and the numbers are startling. Last year, 50 percent of all American workers made less than $28,031, and 39 percent of all American workers made less than $20,000. If you worked a full-time job at $10 an hour all year long with two weeks off, you would make $20,000. So the fact that 39 percent of all workers made less than that amount is rather telling. This is more evidence of the declining quality of the jobs in this country. In many homes in America today, both parents are working multiple jobs in a desperate attempt to make ends meet. Our paychecks are stagnant while the cost of living just continues to soar. And the jobs that are being added to the economy pay a lot less than the jobs lost in the last recession. In fact, it has been estimated that the jobs that have been created since the last recession pay an average of 23 percent less than the jobs that were lost. We are witnessing the slow-motion destruction of the middle class, and very few of our leaders seem to care.

***

-39 percent of American workers made less than $20,000 last year.

-52 percent of American workers made less than $30,000 last year.

-63 percent of American workers made less than $40,000 last year.

-72 percent of American workers made less than $50,000 last year

And as far as education to get a better job goes...

Back in 1999, a quarter of all 25-year-olds lived with their parents. By 2013 this number has doubled, and currently half of young adults live in their parents home.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-10-27/why-are-half-all-25-year-olds-still-living-their-parents-federal-reserve-answers

Good luck with those tax, fine and fee increases Rahm.

People can't even afford to pay that hidden Obamacare tax increase this year!!!

Obamacare, a tax hidden under the guise of caring about the people. It's oh-so noble and altruistic isn't it. How can anyone not be for affordable healthcare.

Obamacare, a protectionist move to funnel money to insurance agencies and the big pharma's locking out competition and free markets that would otherwise be reducing costs.

One giant fucking screw job transfer of wealth.

Sophism is a method of teaching. In ancient Greece, sophists were a category of teachers who specialized in using the techniques of philosophy and rhetoric for the purpose of teaching arete — "excellence" or "virtue" — predominantly to young statesmen and nobility. The practice of charging money for education and providing wisdom only to those who could pay led to the condemnations made by Socrates, through Plato in his dialogues, as well as Xenophon's Memorabilia. Through works such as these, Sophists were portrayed as "specious" or "deceptive", hence the modern meaning of the term.

The secret agenda here is and always has been doing away with private firearm ownership. Obama has proposed legislation that would make illegal 80% of firearms in private hands.

Heck, with that big City tax increase expected over the next 4 years, the Crook County Bd gotta have its turn.
As for who gets the Top Spot of CCGVC will depend on who already doesn't have a CC Pension yet, or only has 2 govmint pensions.
No word on how an expensive Program like this can possibly be effective when the CC Board has a sitting president that says "too many brown folks are in jail". There will probably be spin off programs and of course more money will be demanded from the taxpayer.
If they need funding for this Program, how about taxing the Entitlements, garnishment of the Entitlements for the entitled perpetrators and of course, those who own homes under $250,000.
Now don't forget tomorrow's start of the release of thousands of freeloading drug dealing parolees crowding out Fed funded halfway houses
and not too soon, the reenlisment back into the trade. That isn't going to be free.

OK Ms Prickwrinkle-first it was hike the sales tax that you once repealed. Then increase the county amusement tax. Even though the voters stated "we are not amused!" Of course the #blm nonsense of too many blacks incarcerated. Then the crap that your former Chief of Staff will be a great States Atty. Now we have a brand new county commissioner that starts the idea of a gun czar so he can get publicity.
If you want to stop gun violence - keep the thugs arrested by CPD in jail!! The 9 year old shot during the 4th of July whose daddy was the intended target is the perfect example. The father should have been locked up for .... a prior gun violation. Not shoplifting or a minor drug charge.
Please voters - don't listen to Prickwrinkle's bullshit and do NOT vote for Kimberly Foxx for a states Atty or we will see more #blm crap.
Remember to toss these commissioners out next time they run. Don't forget the rogue judges as well. VOTE.

The last example of coppers not voting was our Pension Board election. Only 23% of the active members could take the time to mail their ballot? We are great at posting our anger but lackluster at voting these fools out of office. #taxpayer $$$ matter!! VOTE THE BUMS OUT!

Not to mention that everything you have, and see, and stand on, and wear, and eat, is the product of many centuries of what you call "bullshit."

Tell you what -- you put on coveralls and goggles and crawl through a manhole to get under a HOT, operating boiler at 3 AM so a block-long building full of people won't freeze on a Chicago winter night -- with me standing there tending the rope tied to your ankles (and there is a special way to rig this) so that I can haul you back out if you don't answer me -- and then we'll talk.

I was 15, and that was my father in there.

Great comment, as usual the 1% is in a safe position far to the rear, urging the "people" to revolt. The facts are good -- as far as they go -- but one must also consider the source.

OT --

Now, here is "coordinated violence."

Police: Customer with concealed carry license kills robber at corner store

"A robbery was thwarted at a Southwest Side corner store Saturday night when a patron with a concealed carry license shot and killed an armed robber, authorities said.

"Citing preliminary information, police said a man walked into a store in the 2700 block of West 51st Street in the Gage Park neighborhood around 7 p.m., announced a robbery to an employee working behind the counter and displayed a handgun.

"Another employee came from the back of the store and the gunman pointed his weapon at her, police said. He then made her go to the back of the store, which also serves as a currency exchange.

"After that, a customer who was also inside the business pulled out a gun and opened fire at the robber, killing him, police said. The robber, believed to be in his 40s, later died.

"Police said the shooter has a valid concealed carry license and a valid firearm owner's identification card."

Sheriff at center of sanctuary city debate, illegal immigrant allegedly killing San Francisco women faces reelection

October 31, 2015

"Only two incumbent San Francisco sheriffs have lost re-election in the last 60 years -- but Ross Mirkarimi is facing a tough battle Tuesday to avoid being the third.

"The San Francisco sheriff's office has been in the spotlight since a Mexican national in the country illegally was accused in the fatal shooting of a San Francisco woman this summer. The man had been released from Mirkarimi's jail even though federal immigration officials had requested that he be detained.

"Also, Mirkarimi has endured a series of personal and official embarrassments, including having his driver's license briefly suspended and flunking a marksmanship test that prevents him from carrying a service weapon.

"I'm in the redemption industry," said Mirkarimi, 54, who launched the Green Party in California before changing his voter registration to Democrat. "I believe in second chances."

"His opponent, retired sheriff's official Vicki Hennessy, 62, is running a low-key campaign -- her first -- hoping to capitalize on Mirkarimi's negative image.

"The department needs leadership," Hennessy said. "It needs its credibility restored."

"The latest campaign contribution disclosures show that she has raised $286,000 to his $109,000 and won the endorsements of the unions representing the county jail's sworn officers. Hennessy is also supported by the mayor."

Guns do not kill people, people kill people. A person convicted of a non violent drug offense just did not get caught for the rapes, murders and theft he committed to get money for drugs, so, this is a bit of revisionist history saying they are non violent drug offenders. It is also true that wages are too low but, it is because of racism and racism does exist on both sides and not just minorities use guns to kill people. This is a good idea and people will be eating crow when it works.
