Misleading Headline

You know, you'd think that the papers could at least get the first impression correct:
Damn those police - blazing away, killing unarmed citizens, wounding bystanders, we really need more police oversight and shit.
  • A man was fatally shot Sunday morning after police were called to a domestic-related incident on the West Side and were confronted by a man who left a woman injured, according to Chicago police.

Police responded to the 3500 block of West Grenshaw Street at 8:30 a.m. for a call of a "man with a gun," Chicago police said in a statement.

After police arrived at the address they were told that a person had been shot inside the home, officials said. Police attempted to enter the home but the door was locked.

After finding the door locked, police tried to speak with the man who refused to open the door.

Police then forced their way into the home, fearing for the safety of the victim. Once they got inside of the home, police saw a man with a handgun who then refused police commands to drop the gun, police said.

The man then charged at police while pointing the gun toward the police, officials said. Police, in fear of their lives, fatally shot the man, according to the police statement.

Inside, police found a female with a gunshot wound and several stab wounds, police said. The woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.
Oh. So the police saved a woman who had already been shot? And stabbed? And held against her will from seeking medical treatment? And defended themselves against an armed assailant? But the headline conveyed none of that.

How about one of these:
  • Hero Cops Rescue Wounded Woman Shot during Domestic
  • Woman Beater Dead After Threatening Cops with Gun
Those might make more sense.

[...]by a man who left a woman injured.[...] Why not left a woman wounded by shooting and stabing?
Silly me. It doesn't fit rahm's or obama's agenda.
Pravda...ah I mean the Chicago news media, works for the state.

Great job cops.

Media as usual trying to sensationalize anything to generate more clicks. They already had a "hero story" with cops driving the baby to the hospital last week. Wouldn't want another positive story lest they become run of the mill and hard to sell ad space. After all, the only repeat stories that people will click on are ones that involve police "brutality". What a joke.

Hey no mention of the race of the offenders of the cops either. What's that? It doesn't matter? NO SHIT. it's only brought up when trying to sell ad space.

God bless the police and damn the mutts.

Don't worry Guy/Gals,

Help is on the way. The Department will once again be in good hands. The Tiny Dancer has come to his senses and realizes it takes a Chicago Copper to run the CPD. High level complex negotiations are ongoing. Chuck Williams from Streets and Sanitation is assembling a management team to accompany him when he takes the helm of the police department. Charlie is bringing in a mixed team of CPD and DOJ veterans to assist him in moving the department forward into the 21 st. Century. Superintendent Williams will come in at a lower salary but will be eligible for substantial bonuses based on crime reduction metrics being met and department promotional exams being more transparent with an increase in diversity targets being met. Especially the numbers of women, gays, and Asians being increased. The Narcotics Division is going to be led by a DEA manager named James Doby while IAD is going to be led by a former FBI executive who served in Chicago when Charlie was assigned to C5. Charlie really trusts this guy. The management team will be rounded out by Fred Waller who will take over the Patrol Bureau. All other exempt rank positions will be filled by CPD veterans as well as veterans from the Illinois State Police and Cook County Sheriffs Department.

Is there no code of conduct policy in the catholic church? He probably didn't even need directions he just wanted to show his disgust and hate he has for the cops when you gave your answer. One of those times when you're answer is never the correct one.

======

St Francis of Assisi Church is in 012 and no where near 011 - not surprising a few cops in 011 might not be familiar with it, especially if he's asking the foot kids on Roosevelt who wouldn't have a clue
