SCC, what happened to the lawsuit that the FOP filed against Recording Secretary Greg Bella? It was filed under Shields group. )over $200,000 was given to attorney. Depositions were taken and then we changed hands at fop. We have heard nothing about this suit. Is it being swept under the rug? Was there an agreement last election between Dean, bella and McDonough to make it go away?

10/19/2015 09:27:00 AM

$$$

Donahue AND Davis signed the check.

Your starting your campaign way to early. Give at rest till after St. Patrick's day.

No campaign slick. Bella hasn't said boo about this and we as members are entitled to know. The money has never been accounted for. I'll admit I never cared for Bella and his tough guy attitude, but I was told that his pairing with Dean was agreement to make this lawsuit go away. Seeing that Bella bad mouthed Dean to us when he was a wagon guy in 025, it does seem strange that they would join forces. I will continue to watch the outcome of this suit.

Pension Board Election Results

The ballots for Pension Board Trustee for Active Officers and Pension Board Trustee for Retired Officer were counted today and the results are in.

Active Trustee - 11,018 ballots mailed and 2,468 ballots returned = 22.4%
Michael Lappe received votes 1,671 = 67.7%
Michael Koszola received 547 votes = 22.2%
Wilson Factauzzi received 250 votes = 10.1%

Retiree Trustee - 12,629 ballots mailed and 5,845 ballots returned = 21.6%
Kenneth Hauser received 4,619 votes - 79%
Edward A. Richards received 1,226 votes - 21%
* * *
Figures supplied by FOP: The percentage of retirees returning their ballots is wrong (its more like at 45% return rate). This ballot return rate is how you get a Pension board and an FOP board of directors made up of disabled and retired cops.

This will solve all problems I'm sure. Aren't they just finishing meeting in DC?

Bill Bratton is a big spender on the taxpayer dime.
The city’s top cop is allocating more than $100,000 to take along about 45 NYPD officials for a four-day conference in Chicago beginning this weekend, law-enforcement sources told The Post.
That’s 42 more than the three his predecessor, Ray Kelly, had taken along to the International Association of Chiefs of Police Conference — an annual event that draws chiefs from across the nation to swap ideas on law enforcement, the sources said.

What a waste

A West Side convenience store owner is now charged with fraud.

Investigators say Ali Al Najjar knowingly bought stolen products, such as over-the-counter medicines, perfumes, and purses on six occasions between June and September from an undercover police officer.

He then sold the same items at his Garfield Park store, police said.
New revenue stream....Seize all of their assets..this is and has been going on all across the city..welfare queens trading food for cash.

Investigators say the owner also let an undercover officer use a LINK card to get cash back in exchange for food stamp benefits.

Al Najjar, 45, who owns Uptown Grocery at 4024 W. Madison St., was charged with two counts of felony continuing financial criminal enterprise, felony money laundering and felony wire fraud, the Cook County state's attorney's office announced Friday.

Authorities raided his store Thursday and recovered $40,000 in cash and $30,000 in high-value merchandise along with two cars, according to Chicago Police.

WTF!! - Only 21% of the Pension Fund ballots were returned !! If you don't care about your financial future - who will?? You had 2 incumbent trustees who said nothing when the daley/vanecko crime family borrowed then lost $ 60 M. And now they remain?? We are our own worst enemy.
Hey SCC - you work hard at providing timely information regarding a plethora of issues. Thank you for this unrenumerated work. i just hope that you continue this blog cuz if i were you i'd give up when these type of results occurr. Coppers can bitch & moan but are too lazy to vote! And it was a mailed ballot! So we continue to cry but never take positive steps to fix the problem.
The next FOP Election should be interesting but the results will see "double dipper" Hauser re-elected as a do nothing Trustee. Hopefully,'Disability Dean' will not seek re-election and a working PO will run for President.

You're right, more like 46.5% of retirees made an effort. The REAL sad issue that is the lack of 8,550 coppers that did not even care enough to take a position. I'm pretty certain those 8550 out of the 11,018 that did not respond would be the first ones to beef about the city, department or pension board fucking up, but if the ballot was for cars, rifles or capes then the return rate would probably have been 90+%.

That display of dismal interest in the return of ballots shows those in charge (city, department or pension board), the intelligence level and mindset of their minions therefore, no threat,no contest, no change,..no care....no chips for you !

07:53 - Agreed - Bratton is wasting money bringing a large contingent to IACP. But don't write off this event on Sunday & Monday since the EXHIBITS are extremely interesting for the real or street cop. Take advantage of the hands on displays for weapons, equipment, uniforms, etc. That part of the conference is well worth it. Avoid Tuesday since Sparklefarts will actually appear (first time since he became Pres.) and the security/media whores/traffic will be unbearable.
TO ALL VISITING CHIEFS:when you read our blog be happy you don't have a similar one back home.

The Cancer In Our Midst

Someone posted here about the Joyce Foundation's subsidies of gun control efforts.

You don't know the half of it.

The Joyce Foundation: Betraying donor intent in the Windy City

by Jonathan Hanen, Foundation Watch, February 2014

"Summary: The Joyce Foundation’s endowment came from David Joyce, a lumber magnate who believed in the American system of free enterprise. Today the foundation that lives off his wealth is a hotbed of trendy, left-wing thinking and grant-making. It funds efforts to hurt the lumber industry, turn schools into union-controlled sources of Democratic Party patronage, block Americans’ gun rights, and constrict economic freedoms. Barack Obama sat on its board from 1994 to 2002, and directed the foundation’s money to causes Joyce almost certainly would not have favored."

"Maybe something in policing has changed," Comey said. "In today's YouTube world, are officers reluctant to get out of their cars and do the work that controls violent crime? Are officers answering 911 calls but avoiding the informal contact that keeps bad guys from standing around, especially with guns?"

Rather where are the parents! when I'm out there I see youths and 1.000,000 black men without their off-spring these misguided black boys and men are without a moral compass because not officer are reluctant, its their parents! they are non-existence in their daily lives which otherwise would control VIOLENT CRIME!.

"Yes, it is true that young men of color have long been dramatically overrepresented among both homicide victims and killers," he said. "But it is also true that white people buy and use most of the drugs in this country — and the white peoples' demand for drugs drives the drug trade that is destroying black neighborhoods. It's a problem our society simply must not drive around."

Since the Police have no friends,
they should work and conduct themselves
accordingly.

Respond quickly.
Drop a Victim Information Notice.
Arrest ONLY on someone else's
signed complaint...

(Let Obama's
DOJ-Gestapo turn that other m/fer's
life upside down instead of yours.)

Leave the scene as quickly as possible.

Engage no one.

Keep your opinions to yourself.

Make yourself scarce and hard to find.

No proactive Policing whatsoever because
99% right = 100% wrong + the loss of
EVERYTHING you worked your ass off for
including your good name, your family, your home,
your job, your pension, your FUTURE...

Be ever mindful of how hated and reviled you are
just because you're a human being wearing that blue suit of clothes
and a star.

Leroy Martin is credited with saying:
"Policemen didn't come here from Mars."

That's a pretty apt and prescient summation from one of the biggest
clowns in a series of, to wear the Superintendent's star...

No revelatory insight...
"Broken Clock Theory" looms large there...

History surely won't look kindly upon the lamentable latest of amoral,
craven, hateful and vicious clowns to wear the Superintendent's star.

Since the armed drug dealer that got punched twice in the face did not suffer any harm, I would think the officer will not spend any time in jail, but he loses his job, pension and is not a convicted felon. Plus, the armed drug deal got 100 grand from the city, more then he has made selling weed in the past few years. this charge is just a shame, but the feds and juries are not on the side of the police.

I spent my entire career working on west and south side and I have never met an honest arab store owner. All that I have met bought and sold stolen goods, sold poor quality food to the neighborhood and were generally lousy citizens and store owners.Plus many of them liked hitting on the local women causing more then a little grief for themselves. But, there is nothing the average cop can do about this. It does take undercover buys and the city to crack down on them. I say that I have NEVER met an honest arab store owner, not there are not a few out there that I have not met, but could be!!

The Education Mayor

News radio reporting now that Chicago City Colleges has a 17% graduation rate, and boss Cheryl Hyman-Whatever is all bent out of shape about "news reports that we are inflating those figures by including dropouts and the dead."
------------------------------

Junior colleges are not about "graduating students".

The majority just go for the cheaper tuition rates then go on to a 4 year university to get "ripped off" financially.

Junior colleges sure ARE about 'graduating' students. Financial support is pinned to it and they draw more students based on the number of people who receive a two-year degree or certificate. The more the rates appear to go up, the more successful the school is perceived to be, so the payscale for the upper echelon goes up, too.

Hauser is as useless as they come. Still, he is elected with nearly 80% of the vote. Like Daley.

You may not like him personally but he he's getting the job done. He should invest in a new wig thou.

It is the other way around; I have nothing against him personally. He doesn't know shit about that pension fund. I asked him questions about pensions, questions I knew the answer to. He answered incorrectly. Repeatedly. He was anxious to get to that pizza.

Figures supplied by FOP: The percentage of retirees returning their ballots is wrong (its more like at 45% return rate). This ballot return rate is how you get a Pension board and an FOP board of directors made up of disabled and retired cops.

There is only one rep fro retirees.

There is one for actives, Sgts. And all of the above rates. And four city appointees.

The next FOP Election should be interesting but the results will see "double dipper" Hauser re-elected as a do nothing Trustee. Hopefully,'Disability Dean' will not seek re-election and a working PO will run for President.

&&&

Of course that would be YOU?

I remember a store at 19th and Kostner, the basement looked like the warehouse from Indiana Jones. Also a store at 21st and Pulaski where the dude Ali was going back to Yeman in 2003 spend time with "family" and don't forget Osama's at 13th and Central Park with a shrine dedicated to bin Laden behind the counter.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Hey hair Gel..... time to leave your momma's basement.

Wait to see how much Donahue, Street, Graham, DOUGHERTY, Ag-u-liar, Del Rivero, and Bourret have to pat after Shields gets his settlement. Look for FOP and The State Lodge to recoup their losses because of their actions. Jimmy boy is going to pat too unless he gives up his co-conspirators.

There is "supposed" to be a rep for actives, but a disabled cop who will be mandatorily retired in 13 months was elected by 21% of the "active" voters.

It's really all about the informed electorate.
