Shit Just Got Real

  • CHICAGO — FBI agents seized a trove of investigative documents, computers and files from legislative inspector general Faisal Khan’s office on Friday, its last day overseeing Chicago elected officials.

“We received a subpoena of the FBI to take custody of our files and our computers with the understanding [that] we are working with them on a number of investigations,” Khan told POLITICO on Sunday. “In order to protect the integrity of these cases, we had to take the extraordinary step to make sure they don’t end up in the wrong hands.”

Khan said some of the officials he investigated were “devoid of ethical morals and values.”
Well, no shit Sherlock....they're aldercreatures.

This would be a brilliant last "F#$% You" to the City Council if it pans out with a few indictments. In any event, there are more than a few aldercreatures walking around like they're trying not to drop a potato chip clenched in their backsides.

I believe they are scared but will the FBI know where to look? Will Kahn walk them through it? I certainly hope this wasn't out of desparation and a longshot allegation.

Someone in a previous thread brought up a great idea which is also cost cutting: one alderman per police district, office in CAPS office cut each alderman's operations budget and make the line item for rent allowance a $0. Heck, they have police at their disposal, cut their staff allowance line item and their phone allowance.

Sounds very nice on paper.

Call me paranoid, but I'm not convinced these computers and documents aren't just going to waft into the ether without INTENSE scrutiny of some kind constantly monitoring both their whereabouts and whatever progress the FBI is making in its investigations of them. It's not as if corruption exists only at the local level. This is a test of the FBI's integrity as much as it is a test of that of the aldercreatures, in my humble (and paranoid) opinion.

And to ensure that doesn't happen, who will provide said scrutiny? The media? Does anyone really believe that the Sun-Times (to name one example) will be able to provide accurate, and more importantly, unbiased reports detailing said progress? So that the people of Chicago can see for themselves the level of shit that goes on behind the scenes at City Hall, revealed piece by piece on a day-to-day basis as the info in those files comes to light?

Worse still, the notoriously short memory of the Chicago electorate has long been one of the biggest reasons the Democratic machine has remained in power here (at least in some form) for years upon years upon years. If this is truly that big of a scoop, then it'll need to be constantly hammered home in order to make any kind of proper, lasting impression on the public. Again, can anyone truly envision the Sun-Times doing that? But it's the only way, if there's to be any hope that the preprogrammed voters of Chicago won't simply either forget about these documents and files (and whatever may be in them) in a week, or disregard them as yet another feeble attempt by the evil Republican conservative cabal to discredit their noble, selfless Democratic civic leaders...pardon me while I vomit for a moment...

OK, better now. ;) But even if the FBI actually does hand down indictments, what then? I wonder if any of the potential crimes thus revealed will be prosecuted at the federal level. More likely (I think), they'll be prosecuted at the state or (even worse) the county or city levels, since that's where they were committed...undoubtedly in front of loyal Democratic judges, many of whom are just as corrupt and/or incompetent as the aldercreatures themselves. Mild spankings at worst, I'm thinking.

Whatever's in those files needs to be something spectacularly earth-shattering if there's to be any positive change in Chicago as a result of the revelation of their content. Something so big--and far more importantly, something so legally unassailable--that even the most corrupt judge (or biased media creature) would HAVE to render a guilty verdict and levy a proper sentence or risk an angry public's lynching. Or would Chicagoans be angry even then? Would they not perhaps just shrug their shoulders, think "business as usual in the city of the big shoulders" yet again, and just blithely vote in even the worst miscreants' hand-picked successors to carry on the tradition of corruption when the next election rolls around...because by then they'll have forgotten all about it AGAIN???

Meaningful change? Criminal politicians gone permanently? The electorate shocked out of its ignorant stupor? Sorry, but to quote my biblical namesake, I'll believe it when I see it... :(

OT --

While Barack Hussein Obama mocks us, saying "we're afraid of widows and orphans," police in a Paris suburb have raided another "no-go zone" apartment looking for "refugee" terrorists, resulting in another ferocious automatic-weapons gun battle echoing for blocks, with one female suspect blowing herself up with an explosive vest. Several officers have been injured, and one suspect may still be holed up.

Airliners are being blown out of the sky, hundreds of innocent people are being massacred by organized child rapists, dynamiters, and homicidal maniacs who respect no laws and no borders, and who keep telling us that they will "kill us, make concubines of our wives and slaves of our children and destroy all non-Islamic religious buildings, books, and artifacts."

They mean it, too. They're doing it in every area they control -- and posting videos of it all, showing them laughing and waving a Koran in one hand and an AK-47 in the other. The fighters who just re-took Sinjar found one mass grave of 78 unnecessary elderly women -- and there were other graves. The ancient World Heritage site of Palmyra has been bulldozed into rubble, and the expert curator of Iraq's antiquities murdered. Women who do not cover their faces properly are being flogged, and having their breasts torn with spiked boards, libraries and museums have been smashed up and burned, and people are being thrown off buildings and crucified and burned alive in cages and drowned and beheaded and run over by tanks.

THIS is what we're afraid of, you stupid asshole -- and the world is mocking YOU for your "unloaded gun."

As I write, CBS has a CIA analyst on the air, saying that "This country has got to go on a war footing. Now."

I would say that he's right.

'F*** you, you filthy white f****!' Black Lives Matter protesters scream epithets at white students studying in Dartmouth library

* The protesters, clad in black, entered the Baker-Berry Library on Thursday

* They chanted 'Black Lives Matter' and abused anyone who did not join in

* Around 150 people had reportedly gathered to peacefully demonstrate

* But soon, the protest descended into the verbal and physical abuse of white students and those who did not join in

* Eight migrants have reached Europe with passports identical to bomber
* They are carbon copies of one found on one of the ISIS bombers corpse
* They are in the name Ahmad Almohammad and had same date of birth
* He was one of three jihadis who blew themselves up outside Stade de France

What, are you going to phone Syria for a "background check?" The only "government" there is too busy kicking huge "barrel bombs" out of helicopters onto its own citizens in crowded marketplaces...

I read posting such as this and it makes me appreciate where I live, Cheyenne, Wyoming. That is not to say we are totally free of corruption but what we call a corrupt politician would probably be awarded for his honesty in Chicago. We once had a State Senator that suggested, one of the few Democrats we let out of our Libtard reservations, an state income tax. He was gone on the next election. Nobody is sure what happened to him afterwards. I suppose his remains will be found by a hunting party in the Bridger Wilderness area in a few decades. ;^)

I am not joking when I say a Chicago cop could retire to Wyoming and become a town constable in one of our small communities. The worst you might have to put up with is teenage boy showing off loud pickup trucks on a Friday night, and when pulled over would crap their pants, not so much from scrutiny of tough big city cop, but in fear of what his parents are going to do to him when the constable calls his parents at home. And when you hear gun fire it's somebody plinking cans and bottles.

Good for this Khan guy. As far I can tell he is the only person with the balls to investigate everyone. The city punished him by leaving his department without funding to function. And then dumping him. Now he's sticking it right up their ass. He has some balls.

I don't know what else he's good at, but I would seriously vote for this guy if he ever ran for mayor. On the surface, he may be the only person in city hall that has some ethics. I hope he doesn't fuck up and bust my bubble by getting locked up for child porn, caught stealing, with a hooker, etc. Dude is almost too good to be true.

There has to be a job for this guy somewhere. Someone has to value his style. "Devoid of ethics." Fucking awesome. It's about time someone from within said it instead of the rest of us.

Sheesh, first it was with Conceal Carry and now corrupt politicians. The well known phrase; 'Chicago ain't ready for reform', wasn't made in goddamn jest.

Well, today's city council meeting Ed Burke is expected to submit a Resolution to allow refugees into Chicago. Once a "Resolution" it is a streamline to becoming Municipal Code.

Btw, for those who commented about how one can't beat residency, well i've done my research, it's very possibleand there are at least 5 coppers with dual residences. I would like to see both you and Rahm Emanuel take a public stand and denounce the importation of Syrian refugees.

While their plight is noteworthy, the safety and security of the American people must always remain our number one priority. Period. End. Of. Story.

You want to keep them in Europe and use American dollars to send humanitarian relief? No problem.

You should consider carefully that most of these refugees are Muslim, but yet none of the numerous Muslim countries in the Mid-East want to accept them either. Why is that? And why should we accept them when their own people will not?

Heck, they have police at their disposal, cut their staff allowance line item and their phone allowance.

Are you out of your mind? They would believe that they had total control over the police if this happened. It is bad enough that they call all the time with bullshit, but could you imagine them bringing every whining asshole client of theirs to the desk with their problem. Then they call YOU in off the street to handle it because it is on your beat. This is one of the most stupid ideas ever put forth. You want those aldermen and their people as far away from you as you can get them.

You still don't get it.

Using the most recent U.S. Census Bureau population data, Chicago WARDS must be of EQUAL population. Your one ward to a police district is mathematically impossible (with a quarter million residents, the 8th District alone would qualify as the second most populous city in Illinois). After meticulous research and per capita representation comparisons among the nation's other most populous cities, Chicago should have no more than SEVENTEEN (17) WARDS/ALDERMEN.

If you would like to read more about these FACTS, using quotation marks, Google SCC's "LESS ALDERCREATURES = LESS WASTE" thread which was posted a few years ago. The local MSM silence on these facts strongly indicate that the shameless Fourth Estate is in bed with City Hall Democrats to keep Chicago's "SHEEPle" electorate uninformed. It's "the Chicago Way".

Don't even get me started on TERM LIMITS and initiating binding RECALL referendums in this, the most corrupt major city in the nation. DemocRATic politicians would be committing political suicide.

Do they want total mayhem? isn't enough going on with the terrorist threat? Lisa Madigan what kind of person are you? Your office? Mike madigan wow!

The Chicago Police Department violated the state's Freedom of Information Act by refusing to release a video of a white police officer fatally shooting an African-American teen to a newspaper, according to a recent opinion from the Illinois Attorney General's Office.

The five-page ruling on Nov. 6 was made public one day before a Cook County judge is scheduled to decide whether to make public the police car dashboard video of Laquan McDonald's shooting.

City officials so far have declined to release the potentially inflammatory video, citing an ongoing federal grand jury probe into the shooting. No charges have been filed against the officer, identified by the Tribune as Jason Van Dyke.

The opinion stemmed from a open records request for the video first filed in May by Wall Street Journal reporter Zusha Elinson. The Chicago Police Department denied the request citing the sensitivity of the ongoing investigation and concern over a fair trial if charges result.

Beginning in March, the newspaper also filed a series of FOIA requests for the video to the police department, the city's law department and the Independent Police Review Authority, which investigates shootings that involve police officers. FOIA requests to all three agencies were denied.

After Elinson appealed the decision to Attorney General Lisa Madigan, her office asked police for a confidential copy of the video so it could make a determination on whether rules had been violated. Police refused to comply.

"French President Francois Hollande held up the vicious back-and-forth as further proof that "we are at war" with ISIS.

"What the terrorists were targeting was what France represents. This is what was attacked on the night of November 13," he said. "These barbarians targeted France's diversity. It was the youth of France who were targeted simply because they represent life."

No, no. Daesh [the Arabic term for ISIS, which will get you flogged at the very least] has TOLD you, over and over again, that you are a "nation of the Cross," a "Crusader nation." They have TOLD you that they will kill you, take your wives as concubines, enslave your children, and destroy all non-Islamic institutions.

Youth? Some of those machine-gunned were in wheelchairs.

Good on the air strikes, good on the determined police/military assaults that apparently prevented yet another atrocity-in-the-making. One of the things that came out of the Nuremburg trials is that Hitler didn't sign his name to any order directly related to the Holocaust. Did Daley and Rahm personally ordered department heads to do dishonest any illegal acts or were they ordered by cutouts and buffers. Interviews by the feds and granting immunity may lead to Shortshanks and Rahm incarceration. We can only hope so.

OT: a couple days ago i commented on another thread about the states with Governors who are not welcoming refugees. I welcomed comments, and was informed that we had nothing to worry about because Rauner was issueing a temporary ban on Syrian refugees.

We need a binding referendum on the ballot to reduce the number of aldermen to 12. That's all we need folks. With 50 aldermen we have 50 opportunities for graft and corruption. Each aldermanic office has a 2 million dollar budget. What a waste of tax dollars. Every so often they gerrymander the ward maps to get the "right" racial majority to favor the incumbent alderman, unless you are in disfavor, then they draw the ward boundaries to put the alderman at a disadvantage. Ask Alderman Sposato, he will tell you all about it. With 12 alderman you draw a grid with 12 boxes of equal population. All of the current aldermen can run in any box that is currently in their ward boundaries along with any challengers. The problem with my plan is getting a this on the ballot. The aldermen will never agree to this voluntarily. We would need to gather thousands of signatures to get this on the ballot.

So true and many of these countries that don't want these type of destructive individuals are extremely wealthy they don't even want their own! But yet as Trump says "Our leaders are dumb, other world leaders are smart" he is right, they dump all the non-producers and terrorists out, our leaders welcome this drain on our country, the Republican President cannot come soon enough go Trump!

12:35 am is right , why not have unions and volunteers to get petitions signed to get this on the next ballot , save $1,000,000 for every alderman .
Less people for feds to investigate

Btw, for those who commented about how one can't beat residency, well i've done my research, it's very possibleand there are at least 5 coppers with dual residences. You have to be careful and smart to where you out smart the system. Lots who have been caught in the past were their own worst enemies...as we often are.

I got away with that for ten years. Is that a record? Probably not.

Has any other retired Chicago cop, or other city employee, who has gone from Blue Cross/Blue Shield P.P.O. to Medicare noticed that their last bills on the P.P.O. plan are not being paid? Is Rahm screwing with the retirees again? Maybe a department head here can blow the whistle.

If you just now qualified for Medicare, the clock started over with regards to beginning of deductibles for both programs.

...and now Daesh has the CHINESE furiously pi__ed-off because they killed a couple of Chinese citizens they were holding hostage.

We need a mutual radio channel set up, so that the Americans, French, Russians, and Chinese don't bump into each other while running air strikes.

Going to be a real crowded sky over there.

Bravo, Warthogs! 110 Daesh fuel trucks destroyed in one go.

Some bureaucrats keep bad-mouthing it, but look what gets sent to every hot spot in the world. It is not time to phase out the terrifying A-10. It is time to get busy building a Gen. II model.

So many worthwhile things to do in this world, yet the Middle East seems to produce as its specialty limitless numbers of young men with guns, constantly surging through the streets.

The great achievements of Islamic culture in mathematics, art, architecture, medicine, astronomy -- they named so many of the stars -- ended a long time ago, and Daesh has been blowing up what is left. It is a pity.

There are indeed disagreements between Israel and the Palestinians, but the divisions within the entire, greater Arab world itself are so profound that Israel could simply disappear tomorrow and I think that no one would even notice, so busy are they at endlessly killing each other -- Sunni vs. Shiite, etc.

This is an unfortunate situation that seems eternal and irreconcilable. I think, therefore, that we do not need to import it onto other continents as well.

Let this terror remain in the sands of its birth.

Ahem... Please reread the question. It is about the "last bills on the P.P.O. plan are not being paid?" In other words before the party started Medicare (Age 64 years, 364 days, 23 hours 59 minutes and 59.9 seconds.) In some cases a week or two before the party turned 65.

Yes and no. I'm switching over to Medicare in two more weeks when I turn 65, and some recent claims under bcbs ppo have come pack unpaid. But here lies the real problem, and it affects everyone.

Certain procedures and tests must be approved thru Telligen before you undergo that procedure or test. Many hospitals and doctors will call Telligen first to get approval for you to have that procedure or test and to be assured that bcbs will pay the bill. Telligen gives the hospital and Doctor an authorization code which should be documented in your file. However, not every hospital of Doctor will do that, so its best that you as the patient always call Telligen first and get that authorization number yourself. Get a name too and document everything, because I guarantee you will need it later when you get a big bill from your hospital or Doctor saying that bcbs denied your claim.
And then you will call bcbs asking why they denied payment, and they will tell you that you did not have prior authorization from Telligen. You will tell them yes I did and here is the authorization code that Mary Smith from Telligen gave me. And the bcbs representative will tell you that she has to call Telligen herself to verify that authorization code.
It's Fkg insane. This has happened to me and my spouse often over past few years. It has become standard operating procedure in our house when another denied payment comes in the mail from bcbs. We pull out our self created medical notebook, and start making the phone calls. Thus far every hospital or Doctor we have has called Telligen first and got an authorization code, and as back up we call ourselves and get an authorization code. And every single time Bcbs denies payment telling us they did not receive an authorization code from Telligen. I ask the bcbs rep every single time 'why are you and Telligen not communicating with each other directly?' No one can answer that question.
Which leads me to believe that bcbs does this by design. Bcbs probably figures just deny the claim using the excuse of 'no authorization from Telligen', and let the hospital or Doctor send a big bill to us the patient, and since we are old and senile we will just pay the bill without question, thus saving bcbs money.
As always in Chicago, you must cover your ass and document everything and design yourself a big medical notebook with folders.

I'm the one who gave the simple answer of the clock resetting.

Odds are, you did everything by the book with regards to making your BCBC your secondary coverage by making all the necessary notifications and sending off the proper documents to the different departments. So did I. And though you don't indicate it in your post, my guess would be that you also know that Medicare begins on the 1st day of the month that you turn sixty five and not on your birthday.

I'm not going to address the whole Telligen part of your post. I agree with what you say but lucky for me, I have never had the issues that you apparently have had.

Maybe the original poster or you are experiencing the reverse problem that I had when switching over BCBS as my secondary insurer. I got myself released from the hospital on the last day of the month because I couldn't imagine the cluster fuck that would have happened if I was still in there on the 1st day of Medicare kicking in. Guess what? It was still a cluster fuck. It took three months for my primary policy to be changed to my secondary one even though I was johnny on the spot with having done everything right on my end. I didn't get my new card for three months and every bill had to be recalculated. No one anywhere could figure out how it went so wrong. So, don't despair; It will get sorted out.... eventually.

Mine did.

All's well that ends well.

Good luck.

If you think the DOJ and FBI are going to investigate public corruption in Chicago when they would rather indict policemen for staring cross-eyed at black thugs you are simply naive. As you join you're families this holiday season don't forget to give thanks to your parents and grandparents who elected democrats for the last fifty years. You deserve what you get. As for me, thank God I married rich!

Congratulations to you and rich.

I think that the bureaucrats like Tellegan and some at BCBS are sadists and have no other purpose but to donate to Democommunists by cutting benefits to city employees.

Thank-you for having a reasonable discussion on the matter.
Hope to buy you a beer some day.

Thanks. I'll take you up on that beer but you would have to leave Il. to make it happen. A move that I would highly recommend.

Again, good luck.
