Head of IPRA Gone
- With an impending investigation of the Chicago Police Department by the U.S. Department of Justice, the head of the Independent Police Review Authority Scott Ando resigned Sunday evening, effective immediately.
According to a release from Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Sharon Fairley will replace him. Fairley is the current General Counsel of Chicago's Office of the Inspector General and served as an Assistant United States Attorney for eight years.
Gee, a former Assistant US Attorney in place just as the actual US Attorney announces an investigation. Anyone want to bet on a announcement praising the "close cooperation received" in the near future. The decks are being cleared and you can bet the archived files are being fast-tracked over to Lynch's office.

Rep. Stephen Lynch (D., Mass.) disclosed that a congressional investigation recently found that at least 72 people working at DHS also “were on the terrorist watch list.”
“Back in August, we did an investigation—the inspector general did—of the Department of Homeland Security, and they had 72 individuals that were on the terrorist watch list that were actually working at the Department of Homeland Security,” Lynch told Boston Public Radio.

In the end the Feds will find nothing. They will make suggestions including more and better dash cams and body cams as well as outfitting all cars with these. This will include unmarked and supervisors cars and discipline for those not using them. They will make several procedural recommendations such as having the Ill State Police handle all police involved shootings with hits so as to avoid any possibility of a conflict of interest. They will find that there is NO systematic abuses of civil rights and no biased based policing. They will suggest more police-community programs in order to build bridges between the two. Bosshole then reiterated the importance of and correlation between activity and time off.

Heard two CPD Chiefs just resigned
I watched the news today and our first deputy / acting Superintendent came of as. Joke. He has a star and two bars on his sleeve which is 30 years of service. He only has 29, he sent out a letter stating that. Also it is a disservice for a leader to wear their awards as he does. If he is going to issue an order for everyone to be in uniform and follow the rules he should lead by example.

Ando was former ATF and an investigator. They don't want that. They want someone that will bow to the Mayor's political pressure. He fired the former Commander and known racist for finding fault in shootings when there was none. I would never say he was helping us out, but he wasn't out to hurt officers doing their job if they were doing it correctly....

It's not enough that there is one per day. They are overlapping them now, two, three, four "cases" going at the same time.

Originally, I didn't care about the allegations of test takers being fed "study tips" from subject matter experts....it was nothing new...if your guy is" in" ...you get a helping hand and I always believed merit was "fixed"....(though nothing beats the merit only class put in by McCarthy--they should NOT be promoted)
But these promotions are the future--- the current Captains in waiting...the recent Lt exam top scorers...the merit Sgts in school----and they should ALL be thrown back...if worthy, they will rise again under a fair process.
