Rapper Shot
- Chicago rapper King Louie was shot in the head Wednesday afternoon in the Ashburn neighborhood on the Southwest Side, his management team confirmed.
The rapper — whose real name is Louis Johnson Jr. — was shot while in a vehicle in the 3900 block of West 83rd and Street about 3:30 p.m., according to his management and Chicago Police.
At this juncture it looks like he'll live since he wasn't stuck in any vital organ.

- King Louie, 27, coined the term “Chiraq” in 2009 and is also credited with the creation of “Drillinois,” a term that plays off the hip-hop genre of “Drill” that he and other Chicago rappers, including Chief Keef, Lil Reese, Lil Durk and G Herbo helped popularize.
So the originator of the term "Chiraq" is almost the victim of Chiraq's violence. Ironic almost.

Just because a self-promoting, self-interested, entertainer claims to have coined the phrase... doesn't mean he did. But let's perpetuate another urban myth.

It is a horrible thing when the violence extends to attempted murder of sensitive musicians and balladeers. I am beginning to wonder if Chicago has lost all of it's culture.

My old neighborhood was once the last bastion on the southwest side. After I retired from the CPD we moved and I thank God that we did. It's over for that neighborhood as it is also for a once great city. Sad.

ER doctors at Christ are getting better & better at their profession every year. I would love to get the numbers on how many they can't save cause it sure the heck seems like most are saved if they make it there alive. Live 5 minutes from there, go to Palos if we need the ER just because all you see is banggers and their mommas carrying on. Disgusting. Nice to have a trauma center so close but I wonder if good people lose their lives because the dr's are busy with this shit heads. Expansion on the hospital is crazy. Adding beds to accommodate more "victims".
OT*. The word victim: cracks me up that the word "victim" is used. To be a true "victim" it seems as though you should be innocent of any action that would put you in the same category as the shooter/ offender.
