Homicides Climbing
- Two men and two teens were killed in shootings that left 8 others injured Tuesday, police said.
The two teens were killed and a third teen wounded in a drive-by shooting in the Grand Crossing neighborhood Tuesday afternoon, police said.
So far, according to HeyJackass.com, 10 dead and 47 wounded by gunfire in just five days. And pretty much none of them can be passed off as "death investigations."

With the drive by at 76th and Dorchester I'm sure the BLM groups will be marching and protesting demanding thug reform and demanding that current gang leadership step down or resign.

I watched several local news shows and read the Tribune and Suntimes online over the past few days. As I read and listened to stories of these killings you know what I didn't hear?...the word GANG. I would love to see the Tribune or Suntimes go after the gangs. Politicians won't do it and I can only assume this is due to the fact that a lot of gang money makes its way to alderman and even higher. Come on Chicago media...there's a Pulitzer Prize just waiting to be won.

If you had any doubts about police wearing body cameras, watch this scene at an Applebee's in Palestine, Texas.
It takes place in a restaurant where the male officer wearing the camera, approaches a theft suspect in the restroom of the restaurant and asks him to step outside. The male officer led the suspect outside while a female officer escorted the suspect from behind.
Once outside, the suspect pulled a gun and the male police officer did what he was trained to do. A Police involved shooting - you won't see this on the news!
This is just what survival shooting instructors in the Army taught almost 50 years ago. You shoot, and you keep on shooting until you have neutralized the threat. The male officer got off 13 shots in five seconds, his hand was as steady as a rock. Twelve (12) of the shots hit the perp.
This shows the value of officer worn video cameras. This video shows just how fast things can happen out there. I don't think the female officer ever got a round off.

Good question! You can't train a rabid dog and then neuter him and then tell him a few months later "ok boy, go out there and be all aggressive now". I am afraid the police are not going to trust the very politicians who betrayed them and then when they conveniently need them the very same politicians tell them to become aggressive all over again. It just doesn't work out that way.

reminds me of the off duty chicago police officer that got held up at gun point while pumping gas and was able to draw and take out 1 of 3 of the perps while the other 2 ran for their lives....

"PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas - A small Texas university town where a black Chicago-area woman was arrested during a traffic stop, launching a chain of events that ended in her death in a jail cell, has renamed for her the road to her alma mater.
"The Prairie View City Council voted Tuesday night to rename University Boulevard, the road to the Prairie View A&M University campus, to Sandra Bland Boulevard.
"The vote came after an afternoon of demonstrations backing the move. Bland's death prompted numerous protests of law enforcement handling of her case.
"A July 10 traffic stop in Prairie View escalated into a confrontation between Bland and a state trooper that led to Bland's arrest. She was found hanged in her Waller County jail cell in Hempstead July 13 in a death ruled suicide."
