Just What We Need

  • Chicagoans will get an opportunity to weigh in on the search for a new police superintendent and their priorities for Garry McCarthy’s replacement — but only if they can jam their thoughts into a two-minute speech.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s revamped Police Board will solicit input from everyday Chicagoans at a two-hour public hearing next week.
Given the inevitable people ignoring the gong and the bumping and shoving at the microphone, at maximum, the Board will hear from maybe 30 people. But since the Board is made of persons appointed by the mayor, we're pretty sure only one voice will matter.

Considering his track record though, it'll be the worst choice possible.

The only qualification for the new boss will be the ability to say "Yes"!

Mayor Rahm, he's just one of the common people. Always thinking about the little guy. Rahm is head and shoulders above previous Chicago mayors. Be lucky we don't have a mayor like Baltimore's.

I am nominating the police impersonator kid. He has done more police work in his short lived career then the last 4 supes combined.

Maybe he can hire someone from Washington DC, or New Orleans? They seem to be doing as poorly as Chiraq.

How about an African/American female? Why not use that commander who's tour has included 015 and 011?

I bet almost 99% of rank and file expect nothing other than the next Supt. to be another political hack, crony of the mayors. He'll get to town, cow down to the phony rev's. and begin to disassemble/reorganize CPD all the while telling everyone things are improving, and crime is down. His longevity ultimately being decided by how long can the Chicago sheeple long suffering citizens keep the vomit down. I like to use the example of Chgo sports teams when I talk about this subject. Chicago is known to have the most loyal fans in sports. Even though, mediocre teams are put on the field year after year, A few bright lights in sports trivia history to light the way, and we/they suck it up like some cultic religion. No matter the reality.
Politicians have got to love this town.

I love this excerpt from a Tribune article from Dec 31st, about the release of City e-mails:

As Emanuel struggled with the fallout from the video, he fired police Superintendent Garry McCarthy. But after that was announced, the former top cop was still able to track developments through his city email account.

When the Emanuel administration sent out a statement Dec. 6 saying that CPD had no role in the McDonald investigation because it had referred the case to the police review board and federal authorities, McCarthy mocked it in an email to a few department employees and Emanuel spokesman Adam Collins.

"Good time to put this out!" McCarthy emailed six days after his firing. "Oh, wait. It's a week too late."

I'd rather the public had a say in picking the new superintendent than the ACLU telling us how to do our job.

When the shit hits the fan and the public beings to the beef it'll be a lesson in life to them on how they don't know shit from shinola.

Whereas the ACLU, who has no skin in the game, will just say it made "suggestions".

Of course I'd rather have the input of neither. And although it's nice to hear a compliment from the public once in a while I'd rather they spoke up at the ballot box or spoke up to reporters. Send these yellow journalists emails on your thoughts. Jam their email accounts. Cancel your subscriptions with written emails explaining why. That will help much more than your thank yous.

Look up "Delphi Technique."

Once a decision has been made behind closed doors -- like to eliminate a bus route or throw you out of your house and tear it down -- a meeting will be held "where comments are accepted" to provide the illusion of public participation.

The initial decision stands, however.

I would bet my money on an insider, normally, but these are not normal times. But, who in their right mind would want the job? The leadership of CPD are all political merit promotees up through the ranks. If it is not a black, the black political class will be up in arms for they think that this is the answer to their prayers and will give them more access to the department. I predict a black from a mid sized police department, possibly a female.

I have an idea so our voices can be heard above all the unemployed protestors and democrats that the MSM likes to promote. Everyone's vote for elections have a financial value. It would no longer be one vote per person. Now your vote is counted by how much you pay in property taxes and income tax. Say you paid 6000.00 in property tax and you paid 25,000.00 in income tax your vote would be equal to 31,000. Someone who "pays" their share of a section 8 apartment of 200.00 and has paid no income tax would be valued at 200. Section 8 vouchers would be deducted because that was a government payment and not from the person. You pay 2500.00 rent in the gold coast the landlord would have to devide the property taxes between all units. You still live at home with your parents, but you paid 3000.00 in income tax your vote is 3000. This isn't perfect but it will straighten a lot of shit out.

No need for the open forum. I can sum up all requests from the non-taxpaying leaches of society: "We want you to hire the person who commands the police to NOT enforce gun, drug and theft laws. ALL batteries will be deemed mutual combatants. OUR community will be able to disregard, batter and disrespect the police at will." Of course the language will be far less eloquent. That will be the cliff-noted summary of that meeting of socialists. There will more than likely be some requests for more taxpayers' money for "programs and stuff" as well.

NO post anywhere in the City showing who these great patriots are!
IF a lawyer for corp council( Jordan Marsh) hides evidence what makes the city think that ACLU lawyer wont leak info to LOEVY and Loevy and receive a kick back later?

Do the lawyers sign agreements of any kind?

RAHM hello who are these ACLU lawyers?
