They Made Captains?

No, not really.

They're sending these people to "XO School" where they learn how to be XO's, which is essentially collecting a bigger paycheck, sit in the big chair when the Commander is absent, and pretty much figure out if their clout is heavy enough to get them a gold star or if they're stuck in a dead-end position.

Then they'll sit around and wait for a spot to open up.

By the way, if Rahm ever gets around to taking us up on our "SCC for Superintendent" offer, this is possibly where the first $3 million of our promised $15 million in first year savings will fall - eliminating this pension-draining spot. It's either these jokers or the 18 Deputy Chiefs of Assorted Bullshit spots that McJerseyShore created.

In Patrol Someone with common sense has to be in charge on the watch and held accountable, whether its the lt. designated as Watch Commander ect. McJersy destroyed all that and saved himself $40 a couple of nights a week. This isnt a game funny shit happens but people are going to get hurt.

You're lucky everyone is still showing up. You think last year's increased shootings and homicides were high, wait til 2016.

"A review of the Deployment Tracking system over the past 30 days reveals that many of the daily missions being conducted by each watch are not being entered into the system. The DSS and WOL are responsible for ensuring the missions are defined and entered into the Deployment tracking system on each watch. Additionally, based upon a review of the mission activity that has been entered, the officers are not spending sufficient time on the mission or within the mission boundaries, as very little activity is being generated. Please ensure we are properly identifying the daily missions and identifying the post shooting missions. I enjoyed going to work and felt a tremendous sense of satisfaction and accomplishment in what I was doing. My last year before I retired, they made all of the Cpts. XOs. I spent a year not having a clue as to what it was I was supposed to be doing. As hard as I tried, there was a real disconnect with the district personnel. I was no longer involved in the day to day operations of the watch and with the officers assigned to the watch. Absolutely hated it. A completely useless position. Retired Captain.

They actually made six captains today, including Lavoy, Joyce, Dejanovich, Chung, King-Smith, and one more. With the promotion of Dejanovich, every one of Tracy's people has been promoted. It seems that he was able to assemble an incredible pool of talented people, as three of them were promoted to captain (Looney, Murphy, and Dejanovich, with Looney subsequently promoted to commander) and others were promoted to other ranks.

Not even close to an accurate statement. Bosses are collecting over 100-120k in pension money. No one mentioned LT. that's an earned rank, captain is clout, no test . Pension should be on earned rank is the argument. An Officer who put in 20 years of their life earned a pension, it wasn't handed to them. ! Because you wanted the bars and did 30 yrs good for you, no need to punished the hard working officers that EARNED their pension. Chief!
