Word from the Academy is that the 100 sergeants-to-be are going to be there for nearly 3 full months, graduating in March?
So the Department shorted the Districts and Units 100 bodies for a quarter of the year? That's some advanced thinking there!

have to indoctrinate them into the new orders and protocol of the dept since the two shootings. Car camera, body mic and isr are all fucked up.
As it is no sgt or lt knows anything about the IRS protocol let alone about carrying body mic without clip for mic. Waite for body cams to come all dist even though has been a few already, no one will know anything about those also.

This is the problem with promotions:
The have been several complaints of documented cheating and compromising of classified information regarding the recent Lt’s Examination. The Department of Justice has been informed and an investigation will search for patterns of unconstitutional policing practices throughout the police force. The officers involved should be held accountable! If the department tries to rush a promotion of these suspects from the new list, all participants from the old list will be part of the upcoming lawsuit.
Hopefully the CPD will be proactive and avoid another negative media press release by holding off promotions from the new list until the investigation is completed.
Meet the new training for sgts. The Feds are here. In ALL of the investigations that the Feds have done the main issue has been not enough supervisors and not enough training of supervisors and supervisors not monitorin and managing the troops. You can bet that's going to drastically change. Sgts are going to get tons of training, especially in law regarding legal stops with this new contact card system and dealing with complaints and bad officers. I think we will also see an increase in promotions of sgts quicker because the Feds scream that more sgts and supervision is key to lowering corruption and misconduct.

The City Council has not approved the additional Sgt.'s candidates (who were suppose to be promoted in the 2016 budget - April to be exact). The FOP in its hurry to appear as if they are actually doing something fucked over the class of 58 to get to the class of 13. The end result could have been accomplished without actually fucking anyone over if they just had some sense and weren't so worried about being "perceived" as doing nothing. Now 100 PO's are sitting in the academy stroking each other off in the gym. Well done FOP.
In the Old Days...
...most newly promoted Sergeants were seasoned veterans and even if they were not from districts they had been studying and working hard for years.
Also the Department was not going through such drastic changes and new supervisors had to adjust to "new ways". The Academy has to be making the lessons up as they go along.

Speaking of promotions, why are they promoting captains that were picked by McCarthy? That captain's list was developed by McCarthy. Scrap that list, and start fresh. They are promoting these ass kissers before the Feds stop it!

Wonder if they are training them to do "round-up" style policing? Maybe they are being trained to "crack that whip" on 9161 blue shirts, in a futile attempt to make us less fetal! Listening last night to various zones and the dispatchers are really being good about telling coppers the "possibly mentally unstable" but of course they cannot be not politically correct on the zone radio! We were informed yesterday that as of 1 Jan 2016, any shots fired by Police with hits will be investigated by IPRA. The Dets will investigate everything that lead up to the shooting and, everything after the shots fired are IPRAS job now. Shootings with no hits will be investigated by the Areas form start to finish.
Just a heads up for what to expect.
Also, the next superintendent will be a civilian from the us department of injustice and, is expected to be an attorney.
Time to do what 9.5 fingers said we are doing.

Well if the FEDS are screaming CPD needs more supervisors then they better also be screaming the city needs to hire more police officers to replace the newly promoted ones! We are so short it's scary. The FEDS should see that. It's been bad for many years.
Supervisors are afraid to write up officers with shaggy beards , wearing unauthorized stocking hats , leaving before check off or coming to work late a few times a week .

Too F'N bad that those hard working otherS in the newly made sgts class have to suck it up and spend time at the academy waiting. Cry me a river. So I'm moving out of 019 in the next couple of months to, let's call it the 5100 block of Monitor area of Jeff Park.
What's the area like? How busy is the best for you district guys and gals?
Should I be concerned walking from that area to the Blue line in the a.m hours to get to the train?

The FOP could have accomplished that end result without holding up the next 58 by forcing the City to add an additional 29 off the list who have not been approved by the City Council budget. Response: Just for your edification and for my own amusement (I'll go slowly since your vocabulary is limited to insults, and not even clever insults) - the original 13, plus the next 58 equal 71. Now, my dim-witted brother in blue, add the additional 29 (which is causing the delay since Don O’Neil did not get authorization and are not budgeted till mid April, if at all) and POOF you get the 100 (who are in the academy sitting around while all the districts are short Sgt's and PO's). I know this a lot to digest for your feeble mind but I hope I've cleared this up. If you have more questions - my next post can have blocks and pictures for you.

I started my own business and will make more than both of you two SGTS together (and your VRI checks). I just do my job with my business. No clout involved. I do a good job and my phone rings. No media coverage. No shootings involved. I will move my ass to Costa Rica while my 4 employees make me money here in Chicago while I sit on the beach.
