Well, if these receipt have to be given, until hell freezes over because of DOJ oversight, the body cams may not be a bad idea to disprove the ghetto POS from lying about the encounter. Though police work may be hamstrung, the cams may end up saving cops from the lying POS or exonerate cops in the shootings and the batteries to POs.
IPRA is now the lead investigative body in all police shootings. Detectives work at the behest of a civilian organization founded on the lie that police have and continue to cover up criminal activity of its members. IPRA bias was clearly demonstrated by the inept and idiotic conduct of IPRA investigators in their attempt to wrongfully imprison Commander Evans. Objectivity is essential to any investigation. IPRA finds the facts to fit their pre-formed conclusion that police officers are abusing and killing civilians with impunity. All patrolman must be aware of this and act accordingly.

I know this may be petty but McCarthy is gone. We don't need to pretend this is New York Jr. anymore. Can we please call "murders and shootings" by their proper legal terms again. We were chastised into not saying homicide and aggravated battery because Mc Fired didn't think we were taking them seriously enough.
The last couple of days, I have found myself actively avoiding any interaction with anyone. The words of "officer safety" being removed from general orders/legal vernacular is all too telling. The very minorities that these politicians and civil rights lawyers have sworn to protect, will ironically suffer more from this shift in law enforcement. No one is more victimized by crime than the black community--by far. These orders and instructors keep telling me that reasonable suspicion is still the standard for the street stop and this is a reiteration, but these orders and ISR reports in this climate strongly suggest otherwise. It's now pretty much a matter of probable cause or no probable cause. The laws and tactical advantage was always in the favor of the bad guy, but now it's just anarchy. The warlords of 3rd world Chicago neighborhoods will be able to sell drugs and kill without even the threat of being challenged. Sorry citizens, you're pretty much on your own

A Chicago police officer was coming to the aid of a woman being beaten with a baseball bat when the attacker turned on the officer and struck him twice in the head, prosecutors said today as the suspect was ordered held without bail on attempted murder charges.
The officer, alone in his squad car, had stopped in front of a home in the 5700 block of South Winchester Avenue in the West Englewood neighborhood after noticing a large group of people arguing and fighting shortly after midnight Saturday, prosecutors said in court.
After radioing for back-up, the officer ordered the crowd to break up and then saw Tythia Thigpen, 29, beating a woman with a metal bat, prosecutors said. Thigpen turned and yelled an obscenity before hitting the officer in the head, a witness told police.
Responding officers found the injured officer lying face down on the street, "struggling to stay conscious," according to court documents. The officer suffered a seizure and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was treated for blunt trauma, bleeding to the brain and bruised ribs.
Witnesses told police the name of the attacker and Thigpen surrendered at the Area South police station in the Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side Monday evening, police said.
The officer is an Englewood District beat officer who joined the department in 2009, sources said.
Thigpen has an arrest record that includes murder charges in 2004, according to court documents. He was found not guilty and released in 2006. In 2009, he pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine.

Going back to ISR receipts, stupid, stupid, stupid. First, what's the point of writing one when you make an arrest? You have to articulate everything in your case anyway so writing ISR is just redundant. Giving receipt that has no time, no date, no address of the stop, no name of person stopped, no event #... Let's say you make a stop, give your receipt to that person. Now this guy will give it to another shitbird, Mr. shitbird will come to station file a complaint saying that he's being harassed. Sgt will find no ISR in system. Ofc will say he didn't stop this guy but Mr. shitbird will say that ofc is lying because ofc stopped him, violated his civil rights and then game him this receipt...
Fuck all people that contributed to making this idiotic policy. No stops until the policy changes...

I agree the cams will definitely be the only thing that helps us out in the matter of officer's word vs. lying ghetto rat. However, those same cams that they want to utilize for prosecuting and punishing those officers acting outside their authority should be used with equal and diligent purpose against those citizens who knowingly initiate false complaints on officers. The burden of integrity rests on the shoulders of the police and it is a heavy one; the price of violating it is also just as heavy. Those who attempt to test it with malice and deceit should be served with an equally heavy punishment. Nothing will stop frivolous complaints and lawsuits unless people start doing hard time for getting caught lying. We can't just prove them wrong and allow them to continue to do the same thing without repercussions.

Hey SSC.....we just rolled out the Department of Transportation stop/frisk/pat down/search form today in Peoria. The law says it's only for stops conducted on public ways. What pissed me off is the reasons for the stop that must be completed. Person fit the description, wouldn't comply, suspicious bulge, etc. What a bunch of Bull shit. All done in the interest of doing less and letting miscreants do what they want. A lot of cops wouldn't come to work but they have families to support. I'm glad I'm just about outta here.

I can finally remain on my beat and just park somewhere and wait to get called from now on. No more patrolling or looking for bad guys. Been telling P/O's for years to just answer your calls and going home safely. They know no one wants this job so they are starting recruits out at around 45k and after 18 months they are bumped up to 75k. They also will be trapped! It took me well over 10 years to get to that point. In the mean time we'll be getting a 1% raise.
