Picture Submissions
We've gotten almost a dozen screen shots from e-mailers regarding crazy, stupid, and insane misuses of police manpower submitted already. We're sure there are more. Our e-mail can be located in the upper right corner of main page under the "Contributors" section.
As a precaution, because IAD is always trolling the blog for "Misuse of Department Equipment" violations, (even though these submissions would be easily discover-able by the most routine FOIA request), we would recommend that prior to sending a picture, you "wipe" it. If you right click a picture and choose "Properties," you should be able to go to the "Details" tab and create a duplicate of the file with all identifying characteristics removed (camera type, date, time, addresses, GPS coordinates, etc.)
SCC does this as a matter of course from most picture files and we will do it for all submissions in this case. In any event, keep the pictures coming - we'll use them as amusing open posts every few days as filler material.

Or you could open it on a computer and do a screen capture. Snipping Tool.
Save the new image. Much easier.

This one, get over there. Don't need any bug-eyed people off their meds performing "ritual exorcisms" with kitchen implements or anything.
Could be that kid is clownin, won't change his favorite shirt, but better to walk away shaking your head than some of the alternatives. Gives ya the chills, after all this time...

The photo data you are talking about is called EXIF which stands for Exchangeable Image File Format.
Here is a good article that addresses easy ways to remove it from a myriad of products/OS'.

"CALLAWAY, Fla. – Authorities say a Florida mother who killed her 3-year-old son and stuffed him into a suitcase tried to buy a bus ticket out of town shortly after the killing.
"Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen says the child's 27-year-old mother, Egypt Moneeck Robinson, faces a murder charge. He said "ritualistic sacrifice" is among the possible reasons the boy was killed. His body was found Dec. 29 behind their house near Panama City.
"The News Herald of Panama City reports that the woman made statements while being taken to the hospital about needing to save the child from the end of the world..."
