your numbers are off... depending when you pulled those numbers that is. As of this morning we had 13 homicides, not 12. tonight alone we have had three more homicides since about 8pm. one in 019, 008 and 025. So, now that number is up to 15 homicides for the year. besides the three killed tonight, there are 12 others shot... this is not even including anything before 7pm tonight! So since this evening 12 shot and 3 killed. there were I think three others shot during the day today. A january day with cold, rain and sleet and we see near 20 shot and 3 killed.. Hey mayor, city, ACLU and the department... How is this new ISR system working out? How about the Body cameras and microphones and in car cameras??? well, good luck chicago. We are done protecting you. We are done stopping people and we are done arresting people. The thugs are starting to realize this and it will be just as bad downtown this year when they flood the loop and mag mile. Sorry, I was a very hardworking, low disciplined and aggressive police officer for 14 years... that all changed around november 24th with the media bashing, protesting and degrading from the mayor, public media, feds, presidential canidates and BLM. I pray that normal citizens can remain safe... we will only be able to respond after the fact.

I am retired so I can't access the clear system. How many total arrests were there for 2014, 2015? It would also be interesting to know the total monthly arrests. It wouldn't surprise me if it has declined significantly like it has in Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, L.A. and now Chicago.

Any copper with 10+ years on the job knows that the Desk Sergeant always ran the Watch . Desk Sergeant is necessary , look at Field Lt. rank , years ago when city was down to 10 captains the Field Lt. was in charge of 65 out of 75 watches in the city and then the watches with a Captain the Lt. was in charge two days a week . Guess what , the Desk Sergeant still ran the watch . I think rahms cousin , nephew or uncle that was a desk sgt. told him about the scam of captains . why he is bringing it back , politics , it is now appointed , merit selection system . That gives the little man a feeling of power .

Sounds like a few people didn't get the memo that we're not doing contact cards anymore. Those 2000 should've been 0. It also sounds like that means there are 2000 ISRs that weren't completed. Oops.

I sure wouldn't want to be a commander of a district or unit today. Can you imagine trying to tell your people to go out and put their neck in a noose getting you some bullshi t contact cards? I'm just a retired guy who was the Police for 34 years and all I can say is I am glad I was the Police when I could be the Police. You won't recognise this city in five years the way it is going. To those good tax paying citizens out there I would strongly advise you to buy a gun and learn how to use it and memorize the phrase," I thought he was going to kill me".

However, the majority of the hard-charging, numbers-seeking, "real police" go-getters out there, have no fucking clue how to do things the right way in order to avoid getting themselves jammed up. In the process of trying to impress someone with their DOPW, reckless conduct, street gang contact while on parole, and gambling arrests, they're forgetting that the rest of us who assist them, will end up getting fucked over along with them when they do shit the wrong way. You sound like you have less than two years on this job. If you have more than that, it doesn't mean I'm wrong, so don't try to impress us by following up with "actually I have 5 years on!" That won't help your case. You still SOUND like someone with less than 2 years. You just don't get it yet. You're unable to actually see what's going on, and how easily you could end up being the one on the news or in handcuffs for "doing your job" or being "the real police." You don't understand that you don't actually have to do anything wrong to end up fired, sued, arrested, humiliated, ostracized, and have your entire life turned upside down. Wake the fuck up! The Desk Sergeant is the Landlord of the Station; that came from my academy class. Some W.C.s could be micro-managers and some would let the Desk Sergeant sign their names to just about anything.
An uncle of Rahm was a Sergeant in 017 and a good guy. He didn't care very much for Rahm but he was family.
