$500 Million

Did anyone call the Pension Board to see if the City made the required contribution?

What was the due date on it?

Someone keeps asking in the comment section and we thought we'd save them the time of actually, you know, making their own damn phone calls and stop clogging up our comment section with something they could find on their own.

Plus, we'd like to know if the Pension Board is going to have to sue Rahm to get it - that seems to be the only way to get anything done around this city.

Maybe they can buy a Powerball ticket and if they win, just put it in the pension fund.

Don't count on FOP.

Speaking of FOP - where the F&#K are they?

Are they waiting in their chairs to get the call they "just got that Merit Promotion they've been waiting for."

New Year? NO, same as the last as far as FOP is concerned.

Rahms to do this----
1. Attain title of "Fuhrer"
2. Make buddies millions
3. Install more traffic camera
4. Outsource throwing cops under the bus
5. Make that bus environmental friendly, low carbon
6. Get more tasers
7. Get a finger implant-- so people stop getting weird out about it
99. Get money for police pension

When I saw > "$500 Million"

I thought you were talking about the latest POWERBALL jackpot.

But that is now $800 Million

My My, just think about all the money raised for education by that Lottery jackpot alone. Why that could hire more teachers, build new schools, new computers, school security and lunches the kids would want to eat. But this is Chicago and Rahm, Daley and Vaneko have already skimmed their share. It must be nice to win the Lottery every time.

Not his parents, because they never parented the thug properly.

For those of us who are clogging up the comment sections with a legitimate pension concern that affects everyone in the Dept, we are trying to get a legitimate or honest answer, because we can't get one from either the Pension Board or the FOP. Not by calling, not by attending meetings, not by websites nor by reading their news rags. So, we apologize for OT comments regarding the pension payment due and will reserve OT comments for making fun of dork coppers in our districts.

No, but instead they bought a Powerball ticket and a card saying: "Good Luck".

Probably the same chance at winning the Lotto as seeing the cash deposited.

Pension board won't Sue the city. Their strategy for pension fund solvency is to attack the character of members on duty disability to get them all back on the Police payroll. They'll never press the city for the required payments. Easier to attack a disabled cop. Go Mike

And some one should keep asking this question.

If the payment was made, that is news. If the payment wasn't made, that's even bigger news.

I am glad to see this post because I was wondering if ANYONE was following this issue.

And why isn't the news media covering this? Did Rahm put a brick on the news media to protect his ass from yet another major embarrassment?

And what about the credit reporting agencies? You'd figure if anyone would be monitoring it, they would be.

Yet not a word from anyone. WTF?

Call the next case. Not a cop.

I retired, and it took an extra month for the pension board to meet and "approve" my pension.(Normal pension, 25 years on) I got the back pay in a later check, but don't believe that you will get your first check in 6 weeks. Have a little emergency cash on hand my friends.

The pension board works like the police department. Call someone and they are out to an early lunch. Call back, and they are gone for the day, leave a message. Everything rolls in slow motion, and you better have your t's crossed, and your i's dotted.

Now what makes you think they give a rip about something as unimportant as a pension contribution...?

just ask'n...

No because Rham is to busy paying so called parents, who gave away custodial rights to their son 10 years ago, which means she and he are no longer a mother or father to their so called son. 5.9 million dollars! there is your answer!

Rahm's planning on winning tonight's Powerball and with those winnings he'll make that $500 million contribution....... that's Rahmenomics at its finest.

I am retired and since turning 65 I have to pay for my healthcare, not provided free for retirees when you hit 65. its about 1500.00 per month for me, my wife and son. plus the 105.00 each month for medicare payment. my question is that I have heard that our pension board trustees have turned against the retired police officers in our fight against the city due to Rahm refusing to pay what the city is supposed to pay towards our health coverage. I have heard that Ken Hauser a retired officer and Mike Lappe still active have taken a stance against the retired officers. I truly hope that this is not the truth as I have always thought highly of both of them. Brothers and sisters you need to start your war now.

Off topic.

I phoned the FOP the other day with a question as to their take on a CPD policy position that was given to me by a 35th St. low level boss of that unit.

"Dolly" at FOP did not understand my question and went and asked the PRESIDENT of FOP the wrong question and I was told to phone the unit with whom I was at odds. Tells me to ask the same people that I believe to be wrong. THANKS.

I tried to explain that she did not understand the nature of my question, re-explained it, and off she went to talk to the PRESIDENT again even though I asked for her to just connect me with him since he was available.

She returns and tells me that the PRESIDENT says that they have no control over policies of the Department. WTF! I wanted to know if FOP had a take on the position I questioned of the Department, not whether they ran the Department show.

So, the president has time to answer the questions that are not understood by the well qualified [wink, wink] Dolly but won't take the time to talk to a FOP member? What a fucking tool.

Rant out.

These are the same, lazy coppers that constantly ask "what's the FOP doing", etc.

It's easier to bitch on the blog than pick up the phone, get the info, and share it here.

As of now the pension board is paying the same percentage now that they have been paying for the last 20 years. I think its like 13% and have not heard of any change coming.

=========================================

My phone conversation was with a female. It was on 05 Jan 2016. You must be one of their lacky's, so I'm sure you can find out who was answering the phone that day. If she doesn;t work there, then what the fuck was she doing answering the phone and going back and forth to the "PRESIDENTS' office for with my misunderstood question?

Enough of of my time was wasted on the phone with the clowns at FOP as has been by reponding to you, so no, I will not attend the next meeting. Besides, it costs too much to travel there from out of state.

Keep drinking the FOP Kool aid that both the FOP and Department is dispensing to you.
