Testing...Testing...
- Police remained on the scene searching for a gunman after shots were reported fired at a North Side building on Sunday afternoon.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired at the building in the 2700 block of North Pine Grove Avenue in the city’s Park West neighborhood about 3 p.m., according to [...] a Chicago police spokesman.
“Out of an abundance of caution, SWAT was called,’’ but no victims or suspects could be found.
As of 4 p.m., officers remained on the scene searching the area, including the roof of the building, Quaid said.
According to preliminary information from police, the suspect may have been a man with white hair or wearing a white hat who might have been shooting from the roof of the building. A bullet casing was found, police said.
No suspect was found, said police who were looking at surveillance video from the area.
According to a Facebook posting by Ald. Tom Tunney, 44th, police were reviewing video, and believe a male and female were testing a gun on a roof.
See? Where else are law-abiding citizens going to test their firearms without a range? Pretty soon everyone will be on rooftops testing all manner of ordinance....mortars, howitzers, cannons. It'll be a madhouse.
Oh wait. What asshole tests a gun on a rooftop?

This would not have happened if the city had not taken the gun club down that was on lake front. Time to bring back the gun club and skeet shooting.
This city is nuts, can't wait to move......
I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For, so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight.

"Oh wait. What asshole tests a gun on a rooftop?"
One who has no access to the basement?
To answer your question, the kind of person who has no where else to go to test fire their new gun. Would you want them to test it down on the street. This happens when people don't have access to gun ranges.
I tested my gun. It got a 28 on the A.C.T.. It is a very good gun.
There are too many Starbucks in that area. The person(s) with the rifle were probably thinking (with their Starbucks atrophied brains) that if they go to the roof and shoot towards the lake, nothing can go wrong. Also, the rifle would not fit in the Smart Car, so they couldn't drive to a suburban range.
To answer the final question...the same asshole who fires a gun into the air on New years Eve expecting the round(s) to magically evaporate before coming back down.
Inside scoop please, who the #@$#@ in their right mind opens up on a roof of a residential building.
They were angry at the pigeons who WHITEwashed their car!
I hear that there is a lot of open space in Englewood. That might be a perfect spot for the Chicago Park District to set up a rifle range, a pistol range, and a trap and skeet range. Although the residents may complain about all the shooting going on.
Q: "Oh wait. What asshole tests a gun on a rooftop?"
A: It's 2700 N. Pine Grove, the 44th Ward.
• The largest per capita of freaky, liberal and obtuse assholes in the city.
• This activity is common for anyone who once lived further to the south and in high rise public housing.
Damn Elks and their hijinxs again.
Great, now I will repeatedly hear about this from every anti-gunner. Forget the hundreds of thugs with illegal guns commiting murder and seeing the revolving door, this is he type of thing the antis will use to try to take the rights of law abiding citizens away.

No; it's the kind of person who shouldn't OWN a gun, because they're a certified moron.
Anybody know whatever the update is on that eagle nest they discovered in 004? I hear eagles keep adding to it every year. Some scientists found one that was 20 feet deep! That's deep enough to stuff the chicago democrats in.
Still no outdoor range for CPD? How can a major department like us not have an outdoor range, instead we rely on using other departments like Harvey?

Actually, that address is in the 43rd Ward.
44th Ward doesn't start until you hit Diversey Pkwy, Racine to LSD.
That's 3 blocks east of my damn building.

So, is the new job gonna happen, or what?
I blame the public school system for this....wait..no no no...its CPDs fault ..everything is CPDs fault. All officers need to be aware of shooting and gun testing from rooftops.

Doesn't look like I'm going to make the cut for APD. Such is life I guess.
I'm going to have to just keep swinging for whatever opens up on the various job portal boards, cause this shit is getting old. Maybe I will land back at OEMC as one of the new supervisors for the Crossing Guards or at a District as a Front Desk CS staffer.
