Shots Fired at Police
- One person was in custody Tuesday night after someone fired shots at police who were investigating a homicide from earlier in the day in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, authorities said.
Shots were fired at police near 4100 W. West End Ave. about 5:45 p.m., said [...], a police spokesman. Some of the officers who were attacked were detectives who were investigating the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man Tuesday morning near Keeler Avenue and Madison Street.
Officers were fired upon but did not return fire, with a police vehicle being hit, [a police spokesman] said.

Gee, you mean there might be some other explanation for shooting at the cops? Something acceptable? We mean, it's daylight, someone got killed nearby, detectives are investigating....it would be hard to mistake anyone on scene for rival gang bangers.
If our calculations are correct, this is about a mile or so from where the three tact guys got shot the other night. Be careful out there.

She laughed and said that guy cannot protect people from the potential of being shot in Grant Park on a Sunday afternoon. What the hell is he talking about? This is typical CPD stupidity. So the beat guys are threatened with discipline up to and including termination if they don't log on and use the in-car camera and at the same time the unmarked tactical cars don't even have cameras. Rahm, why don't the tactical cars have cameras? What are you hiding? Don't tactical officers stop people (and folks) too? ACLU / DOJ where are you? How could you forget about those tact guys? Can anyone think of a reason why tact cars shouldn't have cameras?
I say give the people what they want. I'll make popcorn and watch the fun.
I think all the officers should stay out of these areas and let the community members solve their own problems... it would save taxpayer dollars by not having to send police to risk their lives or risk injury to arrest them, save money by not having to tie up the court system, and save money by not having to feed and house them. they don't want the police.... simple don't go in those areas except to pick up the debris when the day is over. BLUE LIVES MATTER...stay safe and stay fetal!!

Dash board cams have come into being since I retired and don't know what they look like, but, if possible, I think it would be hilarious to make it take eight hours of video of you or your partners mug.

Actually they find the "community despising us" rather useful. We become the bad guys instead of them and then they can come riding in to the rescue. Its an old trick perfected by the Irish mob under the Daley's.

What about the goofs at IPRA taking a cooper out of ISR training, taking him to his home and all to get two guns from his safe and having an ET recover them all from a BS beef from the offender that shot at the police... Know your rights people, tell IPRA to pound sand and get a warrant!
Makes about as much sense as rolling into Iraq and Afghanistan. Honestly, what's the f'n point? A hundred some odd criminals executed so far this year. They appear to be policing themselves just fine.

I've seen that done twice. Both times, the devoted wife decided she liked being single and both marriages were toast. It bankrupted one guy, just short of retiring, and he ended up moving back in with his parents and having to work another eight years.
You don't need to 'divorce'. You just need to spend more than 50% of your overnights in the basement apartment you rent in the city.
And don't be stupid, because walking in the city-apartment front door and out the back door, then taking the car in the garage out to the suburban house doesn't count. You will be caught. Be smarter.

***Dont feel bad guys. My dad was a cop and then I married one. He's retired and we're out in the burbs with the kids now going to fantastic schools. I'm glad for everything I learned growing up with a cop & being married to one. All that matters is you stay safe until you can get out.
