- Speaking of ninnies . . .. while we are getting our collective asses handed to us by the media and Rahmbo has his bus parked on our heads. Nothing to see here. . . FOP State Lodge has agreed to pay Shields $100,000 to get out from under his lawsuit. The battle with Lodge 7 continues. So that's 100K of our money paid by the State (wasn't it the State Lodge President that removed him?) and now how much more from L7??? I think the members should at least be informed about what is going on with this and who admitted to what!

Thanks for the heads up on this. It's true it's been unspoken of for quite some time now. See the guy at the leaning tower ymca occasionally. I figure let sleeping dogs lie(no-pun). The truth of the matter is that FOP fucked up and removed him without due process. Those are our leaders which we elected whom stuck it right back in our assess. Those are the stupid fucks that should be removed from our union.
Shields should have been launched when he failed to send the contract negotiation letter in on time. It cost every officer money and eliminated retroactive wages negotiated in the first year of the contract. Mike Shields made sure that those who allowed him to pick a jury of his longtime personal friends were protected by destroying the recording of the meeting and altering the minutes of the meeting so you could not dis cipher what really transpired at that meeting. All of that after he promised to preserve the recording of the meeting and send a copy to the IL state lodge. This was how Shields operated, all backroom deals. There were 13 board members who allowed Shields to pull off this illegal activity that should have found him guilty and removed him as president. If they would have done their job and represented the members instead of pledging their blind allegiance to Shields he would have been removed from the lodge long before this incident that would have never occurred. It now will cost the State FOP and Chicago 7 Big dollars paid by the membership dues. As I recall these members were exposed on the blog the day of that infamous special board meeting, 4 of which were re-elected by our membership.
Shields continues to be the only one that hasn't sold us out. Too bad Dean's "friends" with Rahm. A lot of good this has brought us. Nolan/Donahue/Dineen/Podgorney all got something for themselves or their families
Did anyone not expect Shields to sue? He was done wrong and these are the consequences for the fop. Not a lawyer, but they didnt follow any procedure, they just removed who the membership elected. The FOP boards are too big and too dumb. In this case, these dummies cost us money.
Maybe before may, one of these readers could come up with a bylaw change for the structure of the board. And it's not the retirees on the board that are the problem. We just elect some real dummy trustees that are a joke.

Apparently Dean was on Chicago tonight. However, in this environment, i have not heard from the man at all. At least Shields flooded the newspapers and stood in front of the camera and took swings at people. Dean is scared of the camera-dont worry dean, no one is gonna know that you're 4'07. Hiring Van Dyke was not the move. Speaking out on how the mayor and the brass threw him under the bus-months after the incident- would've been in order. Dean just cannot say a bad word about Rahm.

Shields failed to protect your wages and cost every police officer money. His buddies above agreed with him that costing you money was no big deal. Funny thing is they were elected to protect your wages, working conditions and terms of employment and could not complete this simple task then lied and covered it up and spent your money on appeals that were filed late. Hate to say it, but lately i can't tell the difference between our crooked politicians and our ineffective FOP board members/officers. Both groups lie, swindle, and screw us every time they get a chance. Let's see if they have the courage to fight against the new legislation which would remove the affidavit requirement for citizens filing a complaint against peace officers? Deano keeps saying that he fought against the ISRs but only after the fact - not during the actual debate. He's about as honest as his disability status. Why haven't we heard anything from our "FOP Legislative Director" -Mark Donahue?
Hell, they can't even update the website!
Rich Aguilar is rumored to have taken a deal on the whole Shields lawsuit and is talking to the CCASA Office and naming names for the criminal indictments coming to save his own worthless ass. Question: has this gained federal attention since it involved the use of computers/emails from FOPs interface to facilitate the conspiracy? That's what smart money is saying.

The current FOP Lodge 7 has quite the file of incriminating files to do in certain member of City Wide Team.
Mark Donahue left a nice email trail that Dean Sr. has that has conspiracy written all over it.
Kevin Graham did as well.
Bill Dougherty who lied under oath at a National hearing defending his Sgt. friend who was an elected board member.
Ted Street(already admitted during a deposition that he intentionally set Mike Shields up without any regard of the consequences.
Frankie DiMaria lied to a certain detective Sgt. Wodnicki (now a Lt.) stating that the FOP did not want to move forward on a criminal complaint when in fact the FOP Board voted to do so and Frank then lied to the past FOP board stating he had not been contacted by Sgt.Det. Wodnicki when in fact his case notes were turned over to Dean Sr.
Paul Geiger in deep trouble when the ARDC beef that was stemming from this comes down.
A few more names to follow but this I know as factual at this point. This will get real interesting folks.
I would much rather have a vocal Shields running the show over silent Angelo. We have nobody speaking up for us, what a failure our President has been up to this point.

When you last went to court, were you paid for it? Thank the union. Are all your ot hours on the books, instead of zeroed out every year? Thank the union. Has your day off group changed every police period? No? Thank the union. Work a split shift lately for no extra compensation? Thank the union. The guys (and a lot of them are still around) who worked before there was a union dealt with that and a lot more.
MIke may not have been ready for prime time but the hold overs form the city-wide team back stabbed and was willing to screw over the entire membership. All that experience was never used for positive actions. Yes Dougherty, Aguila, Graham were the main actors but Davis and DiMaria were just as complicit. Davis destroyed all the audio tapes of board meetings. He should be expelled right now.
It looks like Jim Moriarty, who was expelled from the FOP , is post ing on the 13 board members who voted to follow the rules when disciplining Shields. Get over in Jim, you're finished and so is the rest of the shitty wide crew. Is it true that the FOP has no insurance coverage for the Shields lawsuit because stuttering Bill Daugherty forgot to renew the policy, and didn't pay the bill ? Oh, the irony !

If the Shields suckholes did their job and got rid of Shields for not sending the letter in on time and costing every officer money he would not be getting a penny. He would not have been around for his next fuckup that caused him to be removed from office. All those board members who blindly supported shields instead of the members who elected them should be strung up for allowing him to continue his back room deals, lies and the gross negligence that bled members money from the FOP account. He fired his personal secretary because she nagged the fuck out of him every day to sign the contract negotiation letter. Dean has done a great job thus far about bringing transparency regarding union matters. However, I do think it is paramount if an alleged settlement with Shields has occurred, then it must be promulgated. Also, if any of the former hierarchy of the FOP attempted to cover up alleged miss conduct then they should be disciplined, including the potential of being dismissed from the FOP.
Transparency is of he utmost importance is this situation given the public out cry regarding the police. Everyone must be held accountable, if the allegations have merit.

Those contractual items were negotiated eons ago. Today's FOP Union simply gets paid exempt salaries and therefore an exempt or sin, to fuck over officers. They have given away almost everything the olden days FOP negotiated. We are going BACKWARDS not forwards. We have no representation when we are bashed and decimated daily. It's basically just a Cush spot for FOP leadership. I have lost hope for anything here. This Union is corrupt. Destroying minutes, records, wasting membership money, laziness. It's all disgusting.
Well the cats out of the bag now. The Shields settlement with the state lodge is public now on the Scum-Times home page. Judge rule Angelo's tenure is legit but so is Shields lawsuit. If I was an active member of the shitty-wide team's hostile take over of the union, I'd be very worried now.
Just a side bar Sid Davis former Recording Secretary, who destroyed all of the audio tapes of the board meetings, has started going to union meetings again to get his five meetings in before the next election. No meetings for a year in a half before that. Sid is a military man who lost his honor and code with vets. He choose the shitty-wide team over his brothers in arms. Ok so the president is in charge and it is his responsibility outlined in the constitution and by-laws, yet anyone can do it? It has been done by the president in all previous administrations, yet you state anyone can do it. If anyone had taken it upon themselves to overstep their authority you can rest assured they would have been brought up on charges. Mike Shields ensured everyone in the FOP office and the members at the general meeting 6 days before the letter was due that it would be sent by the weekend. Everyone in the office as well as at the general meeting took shields at his word that the letter would be sent because they trusted him and that is why no one else sent the letter. Someone else did however send the letter in after it was learned that he missed the deadline for the 1st year of the contract. The guy who sent the letter in after the deadline at least preserved retrro for the remaining years of our contract. Keep believing the bullshit spewed by shields and his co-conspirators. Oh btw shields filed an appeal to not getting the letter in on time with the Illinois Labor Board but guess what, that appeal was filed late, past the 90 day appeal deadline. He then filed suit in circuit court appealing the labor boards decision and it was laughed out of court, or dismissed first time up stating yes you did in fact miss all the deadlines. Case closed you cost your members money not only in retro wages but these lawsuits as well. Talk is cheap facts speak for themselves STUPID.

Try to read and comprehend. EVERYONE TRUSTED SHIELDS, the President of the Union whose responsibility is was to send in the letter AT HIS WORD THAT HE WOULD SEND THE LETTER IN JUST LIKE HE STATED AT THE GENERAL MEETING. Nobody had any reason to distrust him prior to this so why the hell would anyone doubt his word????? Nobody knew that he did not send the letter in until the city notified the union that they did not receive it by the deadline. That was when a letter was sent to the city preserving retro for the remaining years of the contract. You are only hearing what they have conditioned you to hear stupid. But here is the bigger question. If everyone knew shields failed to send the letter in and he was brought up on charges for not sending it in. How was he allowed to pick a committee that must be impartial,of his lifelong friends to find him innocent and the bigger question is how could 13 board members concur with their recommendation that essentially allowed and abetted shields to continue fucking the FOP membership.
