DOJ on the Prowl?
Is this for real?
- I sure hope that the DOJ have their hands into the Detective's promotional exam, once the city gets the scores back from the private company. My brother told me that the DOJ removed the refrigerator from the 001st District's CAPs office. They said that the officers were stealing electricity from the city. No refrigerators allowed without a CPD inventory number on it.
Which supernintendo was it who figured that Officers would eat better if they brought lunch from home? We seem to remember that the boss they'd be able to store their healthy veggie snacks and such in the refrigerator located at the desk.
That's out now? We guess that officers shouldn't expect to use the station washrooms as that would be stealing water from the city. The new stations equipped with weight rooms? Better exercise in the dark lest the DOJ say that electricity is stolen also. And don't even think of using the showers afterward.
That television in the Tact Office? Or the one in the Watch Lieutenant's office? Or the commander's office? The one with the "satellite hookup? Yeah, not any more.
Guess we won't be siphoning gas out of the pool cars for our lawnmower this year either.

I don't believe this for a second
Thank goodness the DOJ isn't smart enough to check the level of the windshield washer fluid. I haven't bought any for years.

If they don't pony up for that cup of coffee, report them to their professional standards people.
They will be disciplined. Hillary soliciting bribes and emailing top secret information, not so much.
They cannot take a refrigerator, that's theft isn't it.
took the refrigerator out of the Caps office? Gimme a break Boy Im glad to be retired
Thanks SCC for making sure I'm unable to mow my lawn from now on!
Would love to see the tv out of bosses offices and for the internet to block their ability to stream shows/sporting events/movies.Let them go back to reading girlie magazines, sleeping and drinking. Why should the lockups have all the fun?
In the mid 1980s an inspector wrote up some detectives in the old Area 6 at Belmont & Western. Their crime was using their own portable electric typewriters and using the city's electricity. At that time the city only furnished manuals which were in short supply and half the time did not work. The guy who came in to repair them remarked that we were the only clients that had manuals. They were an American brand but were made in one of the South American countries which meant waiting for parts. The detective area at that time did not have desks just tables. The inspector never noted the leaking roof with the waste paper baskets catching the water. Have not been there since 2008 but remember mold growing in some parts of the basement. Has that been fixed?
Pay toilets and bring your own toilet paper, just like on AF-1.
This is bullshit. The DOJ has no authority to tell any police department that they can or cannot have a refrigerator anywhere. C'mon now.
The Department of Justice took away a refrigerator? That's a stretch.
Next the doj will tell us to bring our own TP like sheriff(lol) Tommie NO TIE dart tells his officers to do.
I am so glad I only have a few years to go and then can write a tell all book on how the doj came and sank the ship.
I'm not buying this story. I call bs
The owner should have a theft case report generated. Just because it's not inventoried doesn't mean someone can take your property. That being said, I doubt this story is true.
Are you kidding me? Are they looking into the cheaters who scored no 1 (wife of former 1st deputy) and the firlfriend of our now- Superintendant? They are focusing on refriderators? Unfuckinbelievable.
Sounds like BS to me. DOJ is messed up, but if someone beefed about the refrigerator I would suspect some boss is upset about who knows what.
Ok.
Then stop using your personal phones to call the DSS, or make all of these stupid notifications.
Zone: "2622, call the DSS."
Bt 2622: "OK, hold me down going to St. Fillintheblank hospital to use the phone".
This system worked fine in 1985.
How about when I charge up my I phone? I need it to call the DSS 30 seconds after some mutt get shot because God forbid I don't give the info in the middle of all the choas, because the Deputy will shit if a shooting summary (whether the info is right or wrong) isn't sent out.
Nothing better for them to do! Guess they know acting like this will just help Trump remove them from their positions going after police is definitely anti-police and Trump is definitely pro-police. Bet when Trump gets in he makes sure police are not be disparaged by the federal government like this ridiculous move! who is their boss?
Why are they not on the prowl for example over at night clubs in Florida where another mass shooting occurred again, But no it was not islamic terrorist looks like the typical black lies matter crew that ruin everything watch the video you decide:
http://video.foxnews.com/v/5048674462001/mass-shooting-at-teen-party-at-a-florida-nightclub/?#sp=show-clips
Maybe this crew mom could be at the democratic national convention headline along with these great mothers of thugs that attempted to maim or kill a police officer:
The convention’s schedule lists the group “Mothers of the Movement” as featured speakers on Tuesday, July 25, alongside former President Bill Clinton.
The group is made up of the mothers of black men, women and children whose deaths turned them into martyrs and inspired the Black Lives Matter movement. Of the seven victims, four were killed in encounters with law enforcement.
The women in the group include:
› Gwen Carr, the mother of Eric Garner, who died in a chokehold administered by an NYPD officer.
› Sybrina Fulton, the mother of Trayvon Martin, a teenager killed by Florida neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman.
› Maria Hamilton, mother of Dontré Hamilton, who was killed by a Milwaukee police officer.
› Lezley McSpadden, mother of Michael Brown, who was killed by a Ferguson, Mo., police officer.
› Geneva Reed-Veal, mother of Sandra Bland, who died in a Texas jail after being imprisoned for a traffic violation.
Now that is great anti-police line up any copper his family or friends or pro-police citizen that votes for clinton should be thrown out of this country!
Notice also the mothers last names are not the same of any of the "children" hmm wonder why! God bless the police everywhere and the "spirits of the air" SCC for all your hard work!
That's the best they have. a refrigerator. Really. What a joke How petty, and how sad, shame on the DOJ pimps. Yeah now go home and tell every one you cleaned up the city (you couldn't carry a real Police Officer's jock strap on your best day) It would be funny , if it was not so sad.
This has got to be a joke!!!!
They also came in asking what time 3rd watch rapid response cars left the other day. They were spotted parked in lot at checkoff time.
...and charge your cell phone at home.
Regarding the fridge, the global warming brainwashing runs extremely deep in this country's school systems. A mini fridge is on par with murder to these brainwashed sheep. I've seen police officers go bonkers over mini fridges in the tact office.

Since when is it the DOJ's job to tell the City who has rights to electricity or let's say, theft of services?
Wasn't that the function of the Inspector General?
Does DOJ have free range to roam through City Hall, in particular the Dept of Finance ?
I really hope Rahms pandering idea to invite the DOJ here will come back and they uncover all the theft on the part of the Daley-Emmanuel Machine.

Heard a story about some Captain or Commander set to retire. About a year out he sold his home and bought a RV. Parked it in the station lot, ran electricity to it. Took showers in the station and slept in the RV. Chicago is probably in his rear view mirror, heard this a few years back. Always thought it was a great idea, anyone know if there is truth to this?
u best be bringing all your bath-room stuff from home, now that you are no longer allowed to "Steal" Chicongo PD's baff-room supplies including water, hand towels & everything in between.
POLICE OFFICERS WITH ALLIGATOR HANDS.....stay away from the hotels-food: theft of services, official misconduct, rules and regulations violations are coming......DOJ...district 001 and 018....KEEP OUT.......
Hey doj over here another mass shooting in Fort Myers Florida then again it is just that "black problem" and black on black violence like the black lies matter group you don't care!

There was a clout heavy captain ( 6th Ward and friend of Beavers) on the 3rd watch in 005. When the district commander when home, this captain changed into his 3 piece suit along with his fedora hat and pranced around the desk. He had a bottle of Martell in his drawer that he managed to finish before he went home. A pompous, arrogant, political incompetent ass. I was surprised that he never made gold star with those qualifications. However, I did hear he was the police chief in some south suburb for a few years.

And yet here you are. You see that little blue word at the bottom of the post - the one that says "rumors"? That should be clue number one.
And guess how much the post cost you, the reader? Zip. Zilch. Nada. So what are you bitching about?
And third, guess how much it cost us to write? About one minute of time. News worth writing about has been kind of thin, so we had a throwaway post. Who cares?
Beside you we mean.

Love it!
It's these funny little side-stories that makes
this raggedy shit-show of a job tolerable.

There go the feebs running to try and track down
who the RV Commander was...
Captain of his own ship.
Hopefully he's equipped to repel all boarders.

Better yet, demand a department issued cell phone for all those 'call the desk', 'notify headquarters' and 'call downtown' directives.
They are doing anything they can to catch police low hanging fruit easy to pick. They are even pulling video from airports watching coppers there, again easy picking low hanging fruit, could that be why the commander is in a rush to retire? The bosses never get caught in scandals look at SOS the bosses were heavily involved and untouched they are tipped off when to jump ship!
Wow, what's going to happen when they figure out that all of you aren't paying for the air you breathe while you're at work ?
Speaking if mother's movement. I just had a good movement. BLM Blocked lines matter.
Maybe they could have the department stop watching us urinate at a random drug test,it is a violation of our civil rights and there is a huge lawsuit brewing.

Station at Grace and Damen closed in 1975
BS. that's not why the DOJ is here. They have nothing to say or do with operations, they are examining the Department's policies.
Really??
These are the things DOJ are concerned with?
I thought they were busy looking for patterns of racial injustice etc?
Apparently DOJ feels that the "community" can't trust the police if CAPS is using their own refrigerator..... who would've thunk it?
Now Retired...

The OLD Area 6 was at Damen Avenue and Grace St. It looked like the set of BARNEY MILLER. There was a creaky, worn out dark wood atmosphere there that anyone who worked there no matter how short of a time will ever forget.
But by the mid 1980s that building was torn down, along with Riverview Amusement Park. A new firehouse went up at Damen and Grace and the new Area Six/19th District was build at Belmont and Western. But the new stations will never hold the charm and memories of those old station.

"Notify the Watch Commander!"
If you have a boss with some guts.
I'd be hesitant to use my own phone as the records might be discoverable by a defense attorney. Almost every suburban department I have seen has a phone in their squad cars.
No worry, when I retired I took my Call Box Key with me.
Word is 002nd District is next, and then 003, and etc....1 fridge in the in every District is the focus. Just to make a statement. Start hiding your fridges.
The Captain you mentioned was a Captain Gannon
Thank God I'm out of this fucking department and city.
Oh my! Refrigerators? What happens to special ed's girl friend cheating on the lt's exam?

This happened in 025 last week
check out headquarters in the winter
small electric heaters in many cubicles
f stealing electricity , it's a fire hazard
check all the hidden coppers in 003 , none work a full tour , no street activity
Now Retired...

The building at Belmont and Western opened in 1975. I worked there for 20+ years. There is a plaque on the east wall at the desk. Not sure when A6 became A3, but in the early 90's, the carved stone sign out front still said "Area 6".
In the early 80's, Elgia Cook, was the Commander of 011. His wife threw him out of their house and he moved into his office in 011. He would come out in the morning, in his robe, and tell one of the ladies to make his coffee. One of them finally told him "I ain't your woman, go make your own damn coffee".
Fred Rice made this idiot the Chief of Organized Crime. His wife let him move back in and he rented the garage to dope dealers. Narcotics was called in to get them out. LeRoy made him retire.
Are they going to start charging the bums that sleep in the lobby room and board?

He was made to retire because he refused to show up for the random drug screen when the program was rolled out. When he left, the city found boxes of tape recordings of telephone calls in his office. He had the entire 9th floor of the HQ and all of the telephones there secretly recorded. The technician , also a police officer, who managed the technology suddenly retired and moved to Arizona. Funny how some things just get covered up, especially if you are connected.
Where was the OLD Area 5?
Was that above the old 014th District Station at 2118 N California?
If this is true, which I doubt, then they are the Dept. Of Jagoffs.

Many employers at one time had rules against employees using their own typewriters, calculators, etc. It would not surprise me if the CPD did as well.
Some places even had rules requiring the use of specific pens and/or pencils.

Not a cop...was charging my i-phone on jury duty, lady comes over says i cant do that,i laugh at her she calls security had to unplug charger...stealing from the county i was told,SMH!
Capt. Gannon lived in the 20th dist, member of St.Jeromes parish back in the day, we knew his son, Rip singed Sherwin park guys.
P
Back in the old 001st district/11th and state, The DC Mickglauflin, related to
old Daley thru marriage, Published a Hit list of officer's using the city phone's
to make personal phone calls, all number's and names were put on a blackboard so everyone could c them, OFB. Desk Sgt would chase u out of station, if u didn't have
and arrest. Fuckin Drunks(SGT's)that is.
Back in the mid 90's guy who was the Secretary in the School Patrol Unit in Area 2 used to have a refrigerator in the office. Thing was though he was running a little concession stand of his own. Everybody in the building from the D/C down were customers. Went on for about a year with sales in the vending machines dropping to close to nothing.
Outfit, and I mean "outfit" who had the city contract for vending machines in city buildings made a beef. Was almost a big deal until some one with common sense made him shut down. Out the door went the refrigerator.
Elgia Cook lived in a shithole of a house in the 5100 block of Michigan. One of the first things I had to do when I went to Tac in 002 was find his wife's plants that some mutt took off the front porch. For being the head of OCD, one of the biggest dope houses in 002 was a couple doors down from his.
Area 6 (Belmont & Western) became Area 3 in about 1993/1994 after the Burge framing and A/3 at 39th & Cal was closed. When they did this, there was a hot second that the 008th Dist. was in A/2. Talk about waiting a long time for the Dics to come out.
Elgia Cook was made to retire because he taped himself making arrangements to take his "squeeze" to a fancy hotel downtown utilizing 1505 funds to pay the bill. He did not fail a drug screen.
Regarding the improper use of 1505 funds the SAO declined to prosecute both the taping and the embezzlement. Daley did not want to upset the Black community.
How about the Auto Theft concession store on the 2nd floor of 11th & State, had everything except microwave meals all run by the Det's assigned there with a coffee can cash register on the honesty system, you could see them restocking it off hand trucks on the back door elevator. Heard they used the money to throw themselves a party every year and for years after they were disbanded and forced to carry off their refrigerators and microwaves.
