We remember forty-six years ago tonight at Cabrini-Green:
July 17, 1970
Sgt. Jim SEVERIN and Off. Tony RIZZATO murdered by sniper fire as they walked across the ball field outside 1150 N. Sedgwick.
Rest In Peace, Our Brothers.
Weezie...that one hasn't gotten old, and I hope it doesn't for a long time.
Cook Co. leadership would not tolerate the High Sheriff. He has common sense, leadership ability and is not corrupt enough.
I bet little Rahm pees in his pants a little when he hears Sherriff Clarke talk.
There won't be enough sits. Sheriff Clarke is the real deal who not only talks the talk but walks the walk. The man has 'grit'.
Maybe the Wizard of Milwaukee can give Special Ed a brain, and a pair of balls too?
Hair gels need not apply.
I like Sheriff Clarke, but is he spreading himself too thin by being on the talking head circuit? I hope he has a good staff back home watching things for him.
Wow, all the way from the state of Milwaukee?
Clark is a good man but you certainly don't need to worry about himself spreading himself too thin. The only policing the Milwaukee Sheriff does is have a few highway patrol units do traffic on the short stretch of interstate highway that passes through Milwaukee. MCSD appears to be far from a full scale/service law enforcement agency.
That would be worth the trip from the 'Ville.

Are you his mommy? His wife? If not, how is it ANY of your concern how he schedules his time?

RIP.
And three, thus far, dead in Baton Rouge this morning. The war on police continues.
I got 2 spots, when i called was told they were not expecting the overwhelming response top the "real police" sheriff Clarke! maybe the bosses who now will definitely come will learn some lessons and shudder under the uniform after a real man talks! Our gold star hacks could not even shine his shoes! respect is earned not grated and this sheriff has my and many other coppers respect he speaks the truth and does not cower like a "real man" does what do you think ed & john?
Definitely going, nice to see a real police supporter who values our service speak his mind!

Sorry Francis, but it IS a concern of many. How does one actually manage their agency when they're constantly on the road, being a paid speaker for various causes? How many heads of law enforcement agencies could get away with this? Answer? Zero. Know why? The voters (who elect sheriffs) would be outraged, and understandably so. Personally, I think it's great that Clarke has so much time on his hands to go speak to other jurisdictions about various stands he takes. I would also love to hear from the undersheriffs who work in his agency and see what they think of their fearless leader.
I can't wait to hear Deano explain how the override of the goveror's veto of SB777, is good for the pension fund. Deano let Rahm kick the can down the road once again.

How do you know Sheriff Clarke isn't doing interviews on his own time? Many of his interviews seem to be skype or computer. I don't think he's traveling cross country for a five minute interview. I think he could do these on lunch. Are you a jealous boss?
Retired
I'll be there

The voters seem to be just fine with Clarke. These are the numbers from wikipedia:
Milwaukee County Sheriff Elections (2002-2014)
2002 Democratic Primary
David Clarke - 59%
Pete Misko - 26%
Mark Hayes - 15%
2002 General Election
David Clarke (D) - 74%
Ken Bohn (R) - 25%
2006 Democratic Primary
David Clarke - 54%
Vincent Bobot - 46%
2006 General Election
David Clarke (D) - 78%
Don Holt (R) - 21%
2010 Democratic Primary
David Clarke - 53%
Chris Moews - 47%
2010 General Election
David Clarke (D) - 74%
Steven Duckhorn (R) - 25%
2014 Democratic Primary
David Clarke - 52%
Chris Moews - 48%
2014 General Election
David Clarke (D) - 79%
Angela Walker (I) - 21%
Just looking at the stats provided, it would seem that Clarke's closest competitor, Chris Moews, seems to maintaining a good amount of support in the 2010 and 2014 primaries in Wisconsin. I wouldn't be surprised to see Moews pull it off in the next election. Interesting to note that Clarke runs as a Democrat.
Sure, and if Clark changes his party to Republican, he will loose. Its Milwaukee, just like Chicago, Democrats only.
