Hey Look - Charges

  • Seeking the first official discipline in the 22 months since a Chicago police officer shot Laquan McDonald 16 times on video, police Superintendent Eddie Johnson on Tuesday moved to fire four patrol officers and a sergeant he accused of lying about the shooting.

Though the October 2014 shooting led to aftershocks that have shaken the Police Department from top to bottom, the city's first move for formal discipline focuses largely on street officers.
Nice to see the procedure has finally caught up with the findings.

Yes, that was sarcasm.

Don't expect dets and brass to be your friend when you get involved in a shooting. Everyone now will be looking to save their own skins when conducting a shooting investigation. The McDonald shooting will be in the back of their minds now that they know that their heads also can be on the chopping block. Lastly, don't expect to have other coppers see your shooting from your perspective, for they too will be thinking about their own heads on the chopping block.

Steve Sailer: On the Chicago Way.
It definitely is all over, We have reached the end point.

http://www.unz.com/isteve/the-new-chicago-way/

"Videophones, social media, the President, the press: all factors have come together to encourage these kind of dominance displays by street thugs.

If the cops whomp a mouthy teen, the video will go global. Hillary will retweet it.

If the cops don’t, the video will go local of the thugs showing off their street cred.

In this video, the cops behave as best they can, engaging in their own dominance display, slowly advancing ominously on the thugs.

But it’s a waste of time and emotional energy when the cops are there to investigate a shooting.

A more subtle effect of these dominance displays is to further terrify witnesses who might help the cops find the shooter. If the cops are barely in control of their own crime scenes, good luck to you when the cops go home and you are left behind with these guys."

That might be a happy by-product for Rahm, but his reason for ordering (yes, I said it, he's running the show through Eddie the Puppet) everyone's firing is political expediency, plain and simple.

The public was calling for his head on a stick a few short months ago, demanding a recall vote, and now all eyes have shifted to the bad, bad police and Rahm is out of the scalding pot of water. He will do WHATEVER it takes to salvage his pitiful political career. Expect more of this. He is toxic.

Lying on a police report???? Does that include cheating on promotional test and defrauding taxpayers out of additional money that you did not honestly earn. I is a sad day when police officers cheat, get promoted and nobody will investigate them. Then again nobody investigated Holder in the fast and furious gun scandal either. Must be a combination of race card and clout, but either way is sickening and rotten to the core. To all you cheaters out there every paycheck you collect just raises the amount of money you have stolen from the taxpayers of the city of chicago. You are a pathetic bunch but those who turn a blind eye and refuse to prosecute are even more pathetic. This would be a perfect starting point for the doj to affect complete and positive change to the chicago police department. Anyone left with a set of balls out there. "...Don't expect dets and brass to be your friend when you get involved in a shooting. Everyone now will be looking to save their own skins when conducting a shooting investigation..."

Not correct. Once the facts are summarily gathered and put on your case report, a thorough investigator nitpicks those statements and should scurtinize on your behalf. You had better get your facts straight, correct and truthful. Any Detective that takes your word without a proper interrogation would be a fool. Way too many hard chargers are bringing in bullshit felonies that are pushing the misdemeanor guidelines. Too many hard chargers jumping on paper and disappearing without an interview.
You can bet your ass it won't be me getting a rubber stamp approval.
You can now also be assured the DOJ gets to go over the facts will even a finer tooth comb.
So don't expect a pat on the back anymore, from anybody for bringing in those forcible felonies.
If you're really worried about your own skin, keep it holstered and don't get involved.
It's not worth it.

I recall when the commander of 007 would order sergeants and lieutenants to sign off on reports or do things that were in direct violation of general orders. He did this because he was doing favors for political friends or just because he felt like it. Some resisted him and asked him to order them in writing. Of course, this commander would not put anything in writing himself. He tried to retaliate against those who refused his unlawful order. But, he just went and found someone else who would do his bidding. And, that included released felons with no charges. Learn from this. If you think the order is unlawful refuse to go along with it unless you are ordered in writing or make such a note in the report that you were ordered to do so and it is wrong.

OT -- Update on The Death Of Western Civilization --

"The Jungle" refugee camp is located right next to a strategic, high-security area -- the port road to Calais, and the entrances to the Channel tunnels. Insanely, two more camps are to be built in the heart of Paris -- next to a main railroad station.

"Two Afghans were stabbed on Monday in a clash between rival migrant gangs in Calais trying to board lorries bound for the UK. The men were part of a larger group confronted by Sudanese migrants in The Jungle camp. The fight was over positions the gangs occupy at the roadside during nightly attempts to leap on to lorries heading to Britain. Hundreds, many armed with chainsaws and knives, blockade the main road into the French port each night with burning tyres and trees, forcing drivers to stop.

"Aid workers say The Jungle is a ‘pressure cooker waiting to blow’. Its population has soared from 4,500 in June to almost 10,000."

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3767350/Next-stop-Britain-Thousands-UK-bound-migrants-two-new-camps-near-Gare-du-Nord-Paris-prompting-fears-trains.html

...and many more are on the way.

"10,000 migrants are rescued from the Med in three days as refugees 'race against the clock' to reach Europe in calm weather before summer ends. Hundreds of bodies of migrants who drowned after being dumped in the water from unseaworthy vessels washed up on Libyan beaches. For fear of the spread of disease, civil society groups and local residents gave them anonymous burials...

"The total number of arrivals in Italy this year now stands at 112,500, according to the UN refugee agency and the coast guard, slightly below the 116,000 recorded by the same point in 2015...

I am a suburban cop and that statement is correct. I can't tell you how much the stay fetal rallying cry has infected all cops in cook county. Goes to show you the discipline disparity between the clouted and the grunts.

Dear sir....You're lucky you got out when U did. God Bless U. Things change here on a daily basis now, and no really knows what the agenda is. Those reports will never see the light of day. they are by now protected from viewing..they are calling this a conspiracy. People will disappear, and get promoted, someone will take the fall...But it wont be anybody that signed off on that report. BTW....its all done by computer now. No body signs...You log in and click approved. Then U print out 10 copies (in a paperless system)8-10 pages, on one side of a piece of paper leaving the other side blank. The printer jams halfway through, and you trash the job, and hit reprint. then everyone gets a copy of a document that they could draw up on a computer if they can find one that works, and print it themselves.

It's simple really......

well folks we did it. we had the arson over the weekend in 009 that killed 2. Those have yet to be re-classified as murders even though we all know that they will be quietly reclassified sometime in september but hey, lets call it what it is, two murders for august. That brought the number of murders for august up to 88. today we had a homicide in 008 bringing it up to 89 and with only two hours left in the month 002 comes in with number 90 at 40th and Lake Park. So its official, 90 murders for the month of august folks. But hey ACLU, decreasing stops have NOTHING to do with crime spiking right??? Stops are down 90 percent from this time last year folks but hey its the fault of the police that people were getting stopped too much and now its the fault of the police that murders are up. Hey, you cant have it both ways. You can choose which you want.. gang bangers getting inconvenienced and checked out for a few minutes and putting them in jail when they break the law or letting those same gang members go unchecked to create what we now have in the city which is chaos and in some cases absolutly innocent people getting shot or killed. Not to mention all the normal people getting robbed and apple picked at will downtown and on the northside. good luck chicago, youre gonna need it.

Doesn't the public naming of the officers stripped in the latest round violate Section 6.9 of the FOP contract?

"The identity of an Officer under investigation shall not be made available to the media unless there has been a criminal conviction or a decision has been rendered by the Police Board (or by the Superintendent),
except where required by law...."

Also as another posted about all these strippings being a tactic by the City to financially hamstring the FOP may have merit.

Baltimore FOP faced similar issues in the trial of the 6 officers. Their membership voted for a dues increase.

Think we would be that united??

Well, there's that whole thing where you're supposed to test it at the beginning and end of your tour. And then there's the opportunity to review any videos you may have made during your tour. It's really not that hard to figure out if it's all working. The body cameras are a little tougher, but you can reasonably assume it's working if the lights and sounds are all working as they should. As a retired officer, I can just sit back and shake my head in wonder and disgust as to the status of the department. I have seen officers color their reports now and then ( I won't say lying as it is hard to say with confidence exactly what another person sees). Many times it did seem like people just did this without thinking. I wish these officers in this shooting case would be given a pass and the entire department given a reset and put on notice that it won't be tolerated anymore. Afterall, they are working for a department in a city in a county and in a state that is known for its political lying and corruption. These things and the atmosphere flow down hill. The two tiered discipline systems that has been around for decades sure does not help in this.

He resigned without a pension, That's what he got, his time and no longer has his career. Nobody did him any favors. If he was to get stripped, he loses his hours.

It's 3,000 hours, you get about 130 in holidays every year and a Sgt. gets .75 every day he works. In fifteen years it is quite easy to accumulate that amount. Also if you hit the time box also when you work OT.

Listen idiot...any of those officers could resign if they wished to...It had nothing to do with clout...The last thing that Sgt. wanted to do is resign...But if your stripped you lose your hours on the books. Shut your mouth, obviously you don't know what your talking about.

Listen Idiot, not every one has 3000 hrs on the books and not everyone involved has the time, and not everyone has the age to just up and leave. So, stop drinking the kool-aide. You know that there is two different types of discipline on this job and always has been. Wonder why the 1 guy was spared from being fired, I wonder who his juice is ?

Idiot. Idiot??
Two calling each other idiot??
What's next-Sticks and stones??

(but 3,000 hours? c'mon now??)
