Trib Prints Truth
We've seen this far too many times in person. We're surprised it actually got published:
- Three gunshots cracked the air close to where police were investigating a West Englewood shooting early Friday.
“Run, b----, run!” a young shirtless man shouted as officers sprinted down an alley to check out the gunfire. Then, with mock concern, he added: “Hey, there’s somebody dead in the alley!”
There was no one dead in the alley. Police suspected the shots were a prank by a group of young men who had been heckling them for about an hour at the scene of a shooting that wounded a 22-year-old man in the 7100 block of South Paulina Street about 12:50 a.m.
Standing in a line not far from the crime tape, they had been alternately threatening and teasing the officers.
“You a traitor! You a traitor! You bogus as hell!” one of them said early on, focusing on the only black officer nearby.
So where's the DOJ? Where's the phony pfather? Where's the training for the "community" to (A) let the police do their job, (B) stop race baiting one of their own (who has actually made something of himself, and (C) start acting like certain lives matter instead of shooting each other at 12:50 in the morning?
Don't these healthy young adults have a job to go to in the morning? What could possibly possess them to stand around a shooting scene, running in and out of the crime scene tape, taunting the people trying to solve what ails their "community," and daring the police to Taser them so they can be YouTube famous and maybe score some Rahm-cash?
Oh yeah, the complete lack of anything resembling discipline, family structure, pride of self and community.
Again, we're surprised the Tribune even let this go to print as it paints an actually accurate picture of what we've been seeing for tens of years.
Don't these healthy young adults have a job to go to in the morning? What could possibly possess them to stand around a shooting scene, running in and out of the crime scene tape, taunting the people trying to solve what ails their "community," and daring the police to Taser them so they can be YouTube famous and maybe score some Rahm-cash?

A truly disgusting article to read. No way this is fake or a stunt. The parents should have been brought in, all benefits removed because evidently they are not doing their job. If over 18, well I have no idea what to do then. Tired of the roaches bitching about racism when first of all education is basically free through college for young black men who even try and learn, lets be honest about that. I am a black man born and raised and would not feel guilty about my kids attending college for free. Take advantage of every opportunity and get it done. But to fuck with the cops like that while they are processing a crime scene, disgusting and clearly off limits. I sent that picture to several of my friends. If that is not addressed immediately then whoever calls the next press conferrence crying about a cop shooting should get bitch slapped in the face.
So..Chicago has had some 478 shootings year to date on its mean streets but its everyone's fault except the shooter or the lack of a solid home life. So where are the Chicago values Rahm likes to talk about? Folks on the block or at the scene say this has got to stop...well, turn in the shooters and the majority of these shootings and bullying and victimizing will stop real fast. Year to date, only a small, minor per cent of shooters are identified and caught. No snitches there, even at the cost of dead bodies left on filthy streets. Each and every shooter has a family and friends who know who did it but they won't turn them in. Morality is lost to those folks it appears...right and wrong don't seem to be part of their lives, even at the expense of dead babies, mothers, young sisters, brothers and cousins. Oh mighty Reverends...how come you didn't teach morality from your pulpits?? Heck, the cousin of Dwayne Wade is dead...a mother of 4 children...pushing her baby in a stroller, just walking down the street...and NOBODY is talking...and her sister was killed too on the mean streets a while ago. No one talked then and no one will now. Killings continue and morality in the community is lacking. Apparently there is no fear of God either cause they surely don't fear the bullets. What a bunch of ugly.
Media. Know thy name. Do your job. You might save lives along the way. Or is the ethics of good Journalism dead? Have you succumbed to digital fakery?
Perhaps a slow news day or the editor was blowing some libtard in the bathroom?

It is a pity, but the best place for some of these people is prison. They will live longer, and the people in their neighborhood will live longer and better off too. If only the judges, prosecutors, and politicians realized this too.

Only in Englewood can a group of criminals taunting and threatening the police and then firing shots near an active crime scene from an earlier shooting be considered a prank. Stay vigilant at these crime scenes, officers. These fuckers taunting you are the same ones who will shoot at you from a crowd or a nearby building. We should just be able to abandon any crime scene that the locals don't seem to want us at. Fuck their dead friend or family member. Who really cares if that "crime" gets solved? They obviously don't. Why should we? Because it's our job? I guess that's it. Maybe it shouldn't be. Call us when you're done hootin' and hollerin' and we'll come see if there's any evidence left to be found.

Please stop telling people to violate general orders and then document their stupidity. Cops are getting stripped and fired for much less. You can't use your own recording devices at crime scenes and you can't post the videos online. Do it yourself and we'll laugh when you get fired. I know what you're going to say. You can film them without anyone knowing you're even filming, right? You'll just put your phone in your vest pocket and the lens will be exposed and pointing right at them. Then you can secretly upload the video and everyone will see how they act. You'll be just fine because you're so sneaky, right? Who cares about some stupid general order, right? You're a moron, just like the people telling officers to record roll call or record some boss telling them to get some numbers. How about we don't do things that we know can get us fired in a time when more of us are getting fired for less and less?
Don't you long for the days when heckling an Officer got you bitchslapped, handcuffed and thrown in the pokey? They may not have respected the badge, but they damn sure feared it and anyone could walk down the street after dark without fear of becoming a news blip.

This I have a problem with. This is the problem. The officer might be black but more than likely isn't "one of their own". This kind of thinking, in and out of the "black community" is the problem. Their is not real "white community". We recognize that socio-economic status has many different variables. We need to do this as a culture with black people. The black upper, middle, and working class more strongly identified with the poor, lower shit head class than the rest of society does their own shit heads. Professional and working class people, of whatever race, have more in common than they do with shithead dope dealers and welfare queens and the majority of black people and other people in this city need to recognize it so that we can start combating the real problems confronting the urban poor especially, but not entirely exclusive to, its black element. The whole of the "black community" is worried about racism and being unjustly identified with shitheads, specifically because we and they do not take the time change the rhetoric to fit the actual problem. That is why "actually made something of himself" is a problem. I have spent too many tours parnered with black officer to think that. Second and third generation officers are not actually making something of themselves the were taught to by the decent parents. How many officer who are black grew up poor but, like many other officers, were poor because their parents spent on education. How many grew up poor but were raised by a mother who refused to be a statistic, who worked and went to church and didn't teach her child to Bogarde the system so there could be new Jordan's and big screens in the house. Isn't it the same with shithead whites. These people might be from the same neighborhood but they live a life worlds apart and the whole nation black and everyone else needs to recognizing it by changing the way they speak and write. I don't identify with a shithead just because he's white, content to live in his own filth, he disgusts me because he is content. I don't think he is my brother. When I am with a black officer, I am not embarrassed for the white community and anxious about how my partner will now look at me. Some of the best officers I know no matter their race understand this completely. Other wise keep up the great work SCC!

What I don't understand is that they were clearly breaching the peace [I know, cop's peace can't be breached] but this display certainly extended to the neighborhood as well. Then there is also the element of obstructing justice by interfering with an official police investigation.
There would be absolutely no civil rights violations if the DC or ranking supervisor at the scene had called for a prisoner van and locked up every one of them.
Yeah it's a new day and age, but doing the right thing under lawful circumstances hasn't changed. Has it?

Fetal or not, this is an instance on where the line should have been drawn. Multiple threats against the officers can be heard, with the taunting and the fact that the group is distracting the officers from protecting a crime scene.
I blame the supervisor on scene..... to take control. More cars and a wagon be called and they should have been rounded up and locked up for assault.

Because their upbringing and their "community standards" have taught them that shootings and death are fun; an unending carnival of capering skeletons with hats on sideways, shooting off stolen guns and yelling "WHOO!" as they hurl themselves into the abyss, one after another.
...and yet a kind policeman is shown here taking a minute to feed a cat. At least some good was done on this call, huh?
Probably half of the young men pictured here will themselves be dead within a couple of years, and the other half endlessly in and out of jails and prisons.

why wasn't this shown on the news repeatedly? here is some reality- but nooooo they show the rude desk crew filmed by the rapper---which is also a common occurrence (rude desk crews who have multiple full duty sworn- who give grief to 99% of the walk-ins) and yes this white person has been ignored and treated rudely by the desk crews in 019, 020 and 017 over the last 35 years (which was the first time I walked in and needed some help)
Doesn't that kind of harassment fall under interfering with an investigation or some-such?
I realize that taking the scumbags in would be more trouble that it's worth, but still....
