What Hath Trump Wrought?
Far be it from us to sing the praises of a guy who hasn't even taken office yet, but this weekend, per HeyJackass, there has been a precipitous dropoff in the amount of dead people in Chicago.
As of earlier Sunday night, only three people had been killed. And the only thing that has changed is there's a new President on the way in.
Looks like some more of that good sort of "hope and change."
UPDATE: Five homicides for the weekend. We suppose the shock wore off. Thankfully, the media will start blaming Obama any moment now...the way they blamed Bush for everything.

THE RETURN OF DALEY AND MASTERS TO THE CPD
Well not really, but their political proxies and their old failed policies have now returned. Did anyone have to work the violence mission this weekend? Didn't it stink of the "missions" we have to do back in the Weis/Masters era? Isn't that the proactive policing that the DOJ and Mayors Taskforce on Police Accountability has said is inherently racist and disproportionately targets communities of color? If you answered yes to these questions, then you might be confused.
The explanation is simple why we are reverting back to our old ways because we have the return of come old people. Anti-violence missions aren't an issue now because the idea of comes from operatives the Chicago Democratic Machine. See with the results of the recent presidential election, the CIty of Chicago and the Police Department in general has seen a return of many people who were popular in city/county government back during the Daley and Masters reign. Most were in Washington DC working for the soon-to-be former president and will not be offered any such positions in the new federal administration. With the imminent "draining of the swamp" the Chicago democratic machine operatives are returning to Chicago. One prime example is, Terry Gainer. Gainer was former illinois state police and the former congressional sergeant at arms and now has returned to the CPD as an advisor to the superintendent. Gainer is also closely related to Cook COunty Commissioner Brigid Gainer who is one of Tony Preckwinkle's most trusted partners on the county board and one of the reasons why the County now trying involve itself in these police department missions. It is apparent that the current CPD leadership is in way over their head and has no idea how to stem the out of control violence in the city but since the mayor won't have many friends in the new presidential administration he has to go back to his old democratic cronies like Terry Gainer. Don't forget these people now "advising" the Department leadership were all people who for years destroyed the City and Police Department by protecting the clouted and neglecting the working people on the department. Be careful on these new missions, at least you know they are trying to go back to days of CPD past, except now there is a DOJ investigation and ISRs and other fun stuff.
