Federal Charges on the Horizon
- After calling out rising crime in Chicago six times since taking office, President Donald Trump moved to make assaulting a police officer a federal crime.
In a series of executive orders signed by the president just after former Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions was sworn in as attorney general, Trump ordered his new top law enforcement officer to figure out how to use federal laws to "prosecute individuals who commit or attempt to commit crimes of violence against ... law enforcement officers."
In Chicago, a similar proposal — known as the "Blue Lives Matter ordinance" — has languished in the City Council since being proposed in July by Ald. Edward Burke (14th), a former police officer who is considered the dean of the City Council, serving as alderman since 1969.
Charge it simliar to a Civil Rights statute and they can serve 85% of their sentence in a Louisiana shithole like Bill Cozzi did.

When Obama's could had been son is president years down the road... he will pardon or commute every asshole who committed a crime against a LEO. Dey was jus funnin office.... oh boy I am glad in 01 May my day is done--- adios bullshit job. I am not a cop, just where the uniform of one.
BLM and quite a few ignorant alderthieves will be screaming about this.
Fuck BLM and all the ignorant politicians who are against this.
O'Bama is gone so STFU!
JAH!
Dat's der ticket!
Blau Lebt Materie!
This should hit the LEFT between their eyes, causing their brains to spin, like water hitting molten lead.
The animals won't know what to do when they find out they don't have the Right to batter a police officer.
See how fast special Ed come out with a new general order!
But when the NAACP flexed about silly contact card everyone at the mayor office was on it with training .
If you get a felon just document it all over the report and notify the proper agency.
The white shirt can't do a thing if you following REAL laws.
How about Federal charges for blocking the streets in any protest?
Disruption of Interstate Traffic and Interstate Commerce?
Get all these whiny protestors off the street.
YES - you can assemble and have Free Speech BUT, if you are blocking traffic - you are stepping on MY rights, so at that point, you are a domestic terrorist.
Clean up the U.S.! Now.
In my short time on this job I've already endured some decent shoulder, back and knee injuries from jag offs attacking the police (me). It's disheartening when your body is never the same and the ASA wants a plea to felony resisting (of which I always say NO) or they get 3 years and only do about 10-14 months. Hope Sessions passes this.
Off topic, the Superintendent now has an officer from the 1st District detailed to his office as a personal trainer for him and other exempts. That's in excess of 90k a year. Can't he join a gym like the rest of us.
It will not have the approval of George Soros, #BLM, or democrats in general.
Why do retired aldermen have better pensions and hospitalization then retired coppers?
Languished in the Chicago City Council. I guess you should expect that since that is what those 50 assholes are doing. Collectively likely among the most ignorant legislative bodies anywhere. They are simply languishing in the City Council. And stop referring to Burke as a former policeman. There is a reason he is a former policeman and that is NOT to his credit. He reminds me of Larry Bloom and Fast Eddie and the 33 other goofs that were locked up during or after their tenure on that fools council.
Awesome , it's about time. But for years it was difficult to get states attorneys to upgrade an assault on police. Only after vigorously questioning the officers. It was never automatic.
Ed Burke's ordinance languished because it was meant to languish. It was a grandstand play by this clown who loves to say he was the police at one time. He wasn't. That was a ploy to have the taxpayers pay for his law degree which he has used to continue to fleece the taxpayers. Ed Burke is a con man of the worst order. He is the most dishonorable person on the Counsel. Don't EVER buy what he is selling.
Asa Kimesha Foxxx will never let that happen and will quash it at the State level...
Oh good luck getting those charges approved with Kim Fuck in office.
It's no longer a state crime enforced at the Cook County level, I guess someone has to prosecute it.
Long over due. Now lets see a few examples prosecuted and sent away. After all the next DEM president will need more pieces of shit to pardon.
Runour: General "Central Casting" Flynn to be the next CPD Superintendent to appease POTUS.
President The Donald likes the police.
anything that President Trump does, absent send millions to the Chicago political class, to cut crime will be rejected by the Chicago Progressives as racist and not wanted. The progressives think that by giving every criminal a job at Macy's all will be well.
GOOD!!! It's about damn time.
There's one thing I could never figure out -- and made my blood fucking boil -- was why some gang-banger, dope dealer, or career criminal who shot at police, or worse wounded a cop in pursuit like while in a foot chase, was charged with the same offense -- like assault / assault with a deadly weapon -- as if what happened was a 1:00am Bar Fight between two drunks with Pool Cues at Joe's Tavern. And here in good old 'Crook County' it would be plead down to Misdemeanor Simple Assault (or whatever the proper name is).
Those maggots should be charged to the goddamn maximum with every statute that's remotely pertinent -- if they tossed evidence or a weapon during the chase, charge them with f--king littering! Hell, start with a charge of Attempted Murder. The maggots aren't firing at you police for fun, their intent is to kill you.
Everyone knows and agrees -- except for Leftists and criminal friendly Democrats -- that in a civilized society the Police are the last line of defense from society falling into complete and utter anarchy.
It's time that our Justice System reflected that fact with new laws and tougher sentencing for those who prefer anarchy by attacking the police.
addendum #1: (Can't ignore this gem)
------------------------------------
>>>> ... Ald. Edward Burke (14th), a former police officer .... <<<
LOL. Burke was a Chicago Cop for about 5 minutes, okay three years actually, 1966-1969 but he's been an Alder-Creature for 51 Years! For whatever reason every Chicago News-Rag and News-Blog like DNA info, includes those three years from ancient history of him being a cop. WHY???
Nothing is even remotely the same in policing from the mid-late 1960s to today. Well, the the Squad Cars are still Blue & White but that's about it. The fact is that referencing his time on the CPD force is irrelevant.
It would make as much sense if the Media always said he was a former Alter Boy or a former Seminarian and considered becoming a Priest -- Burke was a 'seminarian' longer than he was a cop. But they don't do that now do they.
So come on Fake News Media, drop the cop reference. Just because a news topic is the police, Ed Burke's past association from Fifty-One Years Ago is meaningless today.
wow law and order, imagine that
Only if it's battery on 30 police officers and the offender has had 10 or more previous convictions of battery.

Isn't there ALREADY a massive gym at 3510 S. Michigan?
What an abuse of his position and gross misuse of City funds!

THIS!
"It really didn't hurt THAT badly, did it, Officer?
I mean after all, you're back to work and you
don't seem to be suffering any long-term effects.
Right?"
Had that conversation more than a couple of times
with the legal brain trust at the Cook County State's
Attorney office as they tried to not pursue "Battery
To A P.O." charges...
Their thinking is that we're "trained" to sustain injury
at the hands of he feral m/fers we tried to Police, and
that getting injured is part of our job, hence we're
"getting paid for it" and therefore "incur no loss."
Stinkin' Thinkin' leads to rotten rationalization...
Once upon a time when we were young and in
the academy, we and our "control tactics" partner
were yelled at by one of the gym instructors and
summoned to the office for a tongue lashing...
In summary?
"Cut that shit out, it ain't in the curriculum. If you
end up maiming somebody with any technique
not approved by the Corporation Counsel and
taught by us, you will be on your own criminally
and civilly. Your past training and experience
in hand-to-hand combatives will mean nothing"
Our thoughts:
"Ain't that a bitch? A muthafuckin' LAWYER
who has never had to fight some monster
in a pissy stairwell, has final say in how
hard Policemen can defend themselves."
It ties in with the public as a whole, not wanting
Policemen to be big, strong, mean and ornery
ass-kickers anymore because the narrative of
"Policemen should be friendly and approachable"
(at the risk of being viewed as soft, easy targets)
And those silly calls to the district desk...
"The Officers who were here looked
really mean and intimidating and I didn't
like that..."
>Pfft!<
Snowflakery before the term was even coined.
Police Like You Have No Friends.
Dont think that it won't still happen. Keep your head on a swivel.
Could be a blanket Federal offense without any blessing from assRahm and his home rule bullshit.
Wonder what Real The Atty General had to say to him.
The Blue Lives Matter ordinance didn't go anywhere when introduced by Ed Burke last July.
AlderRoaches Pawar D-47 and Reboytas D-30 are firmly against it as are probably 40 more of them.
Funny how 47 AlderRoaches and the pansey Mayor all got together quickly and without hesitation to yank down an Honorary Street Sign.
Nice way to Support the Police and The President of the United States of America.
So, Who's the nazi:
RähmFuehrer and the 50 Gauleiters.
OT Does Rahm Emanuel get a pension with insurance after 2 terms? Its a fucking shame that they're taking retirees insurance away but not the politicians.
Undoing the damage that Obama did to law enforcement in this country. He will go down as the worst president ever. The unfortunate thing is that people will be hesitant to vote for another black president because of fears that he/she will pursue the black agenda like Obama did.
Thank you very much Mr. President Trump. Obama would never push for something like that
I'll believe it when I see it in Cook County
Resist scumbag politicians.
Make attacking a LEO a civil rights violation & make looting and rioting a RICO charge. It's ok to protest anything & I'll stand by to protect you while you peacefully protect, but - BLM conspires to commit crimes (looting, rioting, battery, assault) during their supposed protests. Father Faker would be a good start with a RICO charge since he encourages his "flock" to break the law.
Finally. A president that does what he says. Thank you Mr president.

The city council is comprised of anti-police liberals who are only good for 1 thing and that is pandering to the criminal elements! Not 1 leader in that bunch, absolutely none! They all carry gold badges are "deputized" can carry a weapon why not have an "alderman on patrol night" new program like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYO8ff_L5b8
Violence done in malice toward anyone has to be the same crime, police officer or otherwise. If it is not, if it is somehow "different" then it is institutional inequality defined, it is title of nobility, providing special rights to some but not others.
Cops lives matter, and does everyone;s life just the same. Battery is an ugly crime, one not to be taken lightly, and we ought punish it harshly ( as proven by how deadly it can be when someone exercises their right to self defense vie the bearing of arms). We can, should and indeed must do it equally as well.
Justice for ALL means justice for all, not some justice for some and all justice for others. Cops make a big mistake trying to claim elevated worth for their lives above all others. Please, I urge you, do not be baited into that crap by politicians. Reject their offers of special rights, stand with the people, the innocent people, as the equals that you are.
Ed Burke former officer, yeah right. He was assigned to the states attorneys office where he studied for the bar. Hope it passes.

Ed has a trainer? He must not be very good at his job.

Ed doesn't need a personal trainer, just get all those guys in IAD back together to show him how to work out on company time. They did all right. Honestly, at least one of those guys lost about 40 pounds.

He'll get a pension, but I figure it's in the area of $19,000/yr
Here's the article with the pension formula in it.
http://www.politifact.com/ohio/statements/2013/jan/11/chain-email/can-members-congress-retire-full-pay-after-just-on/
Wisconsin has been tightening up its laws.
Battery to a law enforcement officer or firefighter has been a felony for over 40 years. As it stands now:
Whoever intentionally causes bodily harm or threatens to cause bodily harm to the person or family member of any judge, prosecutor, or law enforcement officer under all of the following circumstances is guilty of a Class H felony:
(a) At the time of the act or threat, the actor knows or should have known that the victim is a judge, prosecutor, or law enforcement officer or a member of the judge's, prosecutor's, or law enforcement officer's family.
(b) The act or threat is in response to any action taken by a judge, prosecutor, or law enforcement officer in an official capacity.
(c) There is no consent by the person harmed or threatened.
And now while it’s a misdemeanor to knowing resist an officer acting in an official capacity and with lawful authority there’s now a felony resisting charge: causing substantial bodily harm or a soft tissue injury to an officer is guilty of a Class H felony but it’s a class G felony if the officer suffers great bodily harm.
You heard it wrong. He is not a trainer. He's a brainer! None of the exempts have one, so they use this guy's brain when they need one. From what I have see at HQ, the poor guy is stretched quite thin!

The BLM "activists" were on the House floor in Kentucky reference the "First Responder Protection Bill." Some think the law is racist. "It's because you're racist!" one protester shouted."Black Lives Matter! Black Lives Matter!" the protesters yelled on their way out of the House chambers, forcing legislators to pause discussions. The bill passed and moved on to the state senate. Same crap different state. http://www.wdrb.com/story/34495649/black-lives-matter-protesters-silence-lawmakers-after-first-responder-protection-bill-passes-in-house
Good for Trump. Now if the cops will only arrest these fools who think assaulting cops is fun. As a citizen, I have been trying to convince the cops it si time to start prosecuting these nuts who think cops are their servants and can boos them and force them to do whatever, including becoming heir "boyfriend" so they can rob and have the help of the police with them.
In Illinois Battery to a Police Officer is a felony. In Cook County it is a petty offense. If you can even get it charged.
Would love to see a case where a Chicago Police Officer is battered, the Cook County State's Attorney doesn't prosecute because :No Probable Cause" and the Feds try, convict and sentence him.
See how the CCSA would explain that.
