They ticketed (and Towed) mine in 2010 for parking in a NO Parking on Wednesdays (Street Cleaning) space close to IIT Kent College of Law. I was not parked long (not even 10 minutes- just to drop some papers off).

Thank you, SCC, for posting this photo. Are there any state legislators who would have the chutzpah to amend the law which gives federal & state legislators free official plates? The amendment would mandate the Secretary of State to impose revocation of the clout plates for repeated violations such as ignoring fire, disabled, and bus zones. With citizens carrying cameras in their smart phones, proof would be simple. Shaming a politico with revocation & media humiliation would be a stiffer penalty than paying a fine. Chuck Goudie could do a regular expose on the antics of these "plated powerhouses."
And the provision which gives retired legislators a free "retired senator/representative" plate should be rescinded. Let them pay for their plates with their very solvent and generous pension! Thank God the AlderCreatures don't get clout plates.

Even though it would be non-suited I hope someone planted a ticket. Maybe there should be a sign in the back window with an arrow pointing down to the plate which reads: Don't you know who I am? Where was this at? The ward superintendent should be fired, look at all the garbage on the street and parkway. You would think that the store keepers at that location would take care of the area in front of their stores. Oh the desolation!!!!! Maybe the driver of that car was "just slumming" cause that's what it looks like.

While I fully admit that Finance PEA' work weekends, they are not out everywhere
on Saturdays and Sundays.
Personally I would have written a ticket to that vehicle regardless of the plate type.

Nothing new there. In the 80's he used to park his Jeep on the hydrant in front of his house on Giles DAILY. Back then 10 unpaid parkers equaled a warrant. The 002 District officers used to write him all the time. Word is he was embarrassed and humiliated then, too. But he still did it, and he still got away with it. Get some time on the job and go be lazy in 016. Until then, I guess you're "stuck" in 014. How miserable does someone have to be to complain about working in 014?
He s at the Starbucks at 35/state on a daily basis when in town (which seems like an awful amount considering he's a congressman not a local alderman). BTW not making any speculations but haven't seen the young female officer in my ward since Rush put the complaint on her and it was picked up by the news; hope she wasn't put on leave
