- The four people charged in the Facebook Live attack that drew outrage across the city and country pleaded not guilty at their arraignment Friday before Cook County Judge William Hooks.
All the defendants’ assistant public defenders entered the pleas on behalf of their clients. Their next court date will be March 1.
Tanishia Covington, 24, Brittany Covington, 18, Jordan Hill, 18, and Tesfaye Cooper, 18, are accused of holding a schizophrenic white man captive in a West Side apartment last month, forcing him to drink toilet water and cutting his scalp with a knife while making him proclaim, “I love black people.”
While the man was being tortured during the several-hour ordeal, one of his tormentors allegedly said on video: “I don’t give a f— if he is schizophrenic.”
Someone in the apartment also said, “F— Trump” and “F— white people” and Hill, a classmate of the victim, called up the man’s mother and asked for $300 ransom for his safe return, prosecutors said.
Seems pretty open/shut, right Judge Hooks?

Think about it hooks is in hot water. The police don't like him. He gave that dude from park ridge who killed the bicyclest on north ave 10 days in county. In that he has the MADD and anti dunk driving people against him. As well as the ever growing bike crowd against him. It's almost like someone is giving books enough rope to bang himself with by 'randomly' assigning him this case.
They are Justified in what they did to the White Kid! Yep, the Intimidation, Oppression and Racism that is the way we live in America, drove these Black Youths to do what they did to this young White Devil! I guarantee the Defense will in some facet or form be that this is the result of Post Traumatic Stress from living under the Yoke of Chronic American Racism! The reason why violent crime is out of control is because these four savages are the norm in the south and west sides, not the exception. Hooks hates the police and literally does not believe anything they testify to. He is one of the worst judges on the bench. Hopefully he was given this slam dunk so he can put one in the guilty column to show that he actually finds someone guilty every once and awhile.
