- Every day seems to bring new tragedy on Chicago’s streets. Three people, including two 15-year-old boys, were murdered over the weekend, according to police, as 19 others were wounded in shootings.
The bloodshed is only reviving questions of whether leaders can find a solution to the city’s violent crime – and whether the politics of policing is costing lives.
"Politics is a cancer to good policing and we're seeing the results right now,” said Chicago’s former police superintendent, Garry McCarthy. “I think the political landscape in this country for the last couple of years has taken us down this path and it’s time to recognize that what we are doing is not working.”
According to a comprehensive new study by the University of Chicago Crime Lab, the city’s exclusive contract with the American Civil Liberties Union could be having a significant impact on Chicago’s crime.

- “This is one of the few dramatic changes where the timing does fit the increase in homicides and so it seems it would be rash to reflectively rule this out as a possibility,” said Dr. Jens Ludwig, the director of the University of Chicago’s Crime Lab.
Golly, exactly as we pointed out when we dissected the 70+ page report that killed the street stop. But what do we know? We've only been doing this for decades now.

People do not understand that the police are not there to protect innocent victims. They are there to protect the criminals from their victims. Chicago is civilized, and still has remnants of the rule of law. If the vigilante groups get rolling, they won't be filling the jails. Because they can't. They can kill, maim, and exile those people that transgress against the Vigilance Committee and its rules.

Side note on this article. So I was at northwestern hospital visiting a friend while I tried to read this article. Each time I tried to read it it said this site is blocked by the server. Well I was in NW hospital wifi at the time. I realized it was posted by Fox News and curiousity made me try every other news outlet. They would continue to gang bang in the evening while stealing from Macy's during the day, so much so, they would cause the Macy's location to close. Then they will go on unemployment, which will supplement their public aid, LINK, WIC and free MEDICAID. There is no incentive to work or go to school, even though the college courses are free for them. The Dumbocrats have turned this country into the land of plenty for those with no skin in the game.

In 1986 when I joined the Chicago Police Department, it was a crime fighting machine. It was so efficient that the Cook County Jail was in a constant state of overcrowding, the inmates slept on mattresses lining the hallways of the jail and the jail was assessed a daily penalty by the courts for the overcrowding issue.
Fast forward to 2017. The Cook County Jail System has closed down 3 Divisions, releases violent offenders back to the streets via electronic monitoring, with the promise that they will stay in their homes and not engage in any further criminal activity. A promise from a criminal is good enough for our Cook County Board president Preckwinkle and our Sheriff Tom Dart who believe too many men of color are being jailed despite the direct correlation of races who are committing criminal acts to those who are being jailed. I guess in their perverted world the jail population should directly reflect the population of the city even though 1 race dominates all others in committing crimes and being victims of crimes.
Additionally Preckwinkle, Dart and Emmanuel, being BIG Sanctuary City Proponents, will not hold anyone wanted for criminal Federal Law violations for Immigration and Customs Enforcement once they are scheduled for release from the Cook County Jail even though ICE has requested they be held. These Federal Criminals, many of them Illegal Immigrants, are then released back to the streets of Chicago bolstering the numbers of the criminals to prey on the citizens of Chicago. 1
You couple the above facts with the fact that the testing and promotional process for the Chicago Police Department is as corrupt as the left wing media and you have a perfect storm for the Murder Capitol of the World. You should know that there is a very large percentage of police officers here in Chicago that long to restore the crime fighting reputation Chicago once enjoyed but are no longer willing to put their family and financial well-being on the line. It should be noted that an additional contributing factor was Mayor Rahm Emmanuel's program of doing more with less where he reduced the ranks of the Chicago Police Department by at least 2000 officers and now cannot hire officers fast enough just to keep up with the officers retiring, plunging the manpower shortage even further.
Here is another reason we are the murder capital of the world. Democrats have controlled this city for over 40 years and have used entitlement programs as a replacement for their old school patronage army to be re-elected. The biggest pay to play conspiracy ever committed against the people of Chicago, our tax dollars used by government officials to provide for a cradle to grave existence for generations of welfare recipients. Well if you noticed the welfare recipients are never happy and in fact violence seems to dominate their life. In case you are wondering why? I have the answer. Welfare recipients were stripped of their dignity and self-worth by the democrats. They used entitlement programs to keep themselves in office. They oppressed the opportunities for personal growth, self-esteem and dignity by dictating their lives through entitlement living and in doing so they were insuring at least three outcomes. That there voting base would always be there to re-elect them. That this class that they created would create an additional division of the classes ensuring that there would be crisis and conflicts to distract from the corruption they were committing daily. And finally programs upon programs that were disguised to help this class but the only real purpose was to enrich their friends and campaign contributors and throw a bone to the perineal race card players who would not exist if this class was never created. So, now since the ACLU knows best... and we all know liberals know everything about everything, so now we are having our department be the police the way the ACLU knows how to be and wants us to be. Every day I see at least a dozen stops I would have made one or two years ago. Most if not all of the time these stops were people who I knew to be gang members. Sometimes they would have something on them that would cause them to go to jail, sometimes they would even have a gun if not more and sometimes they would have nothing. These stops were very important. not just because sometimes they would have things on them but even if they had nothing on them these stops kept them on their toes. The stops made them feel like they couldn't get away with much because they were getting stopped throughout the day. Now the stops don't exist. Now the people who were getting stopped who were known members of gangs feel free.... which is the way the ACLU wants it.... so they get it. And now the gang members walk through the streets without any fear of getting stopped. Now they know there is absolutely no problem with them walking around in a group carrying a gun. Now they have no problem carrying a gun and going and taking a walk or ride in a car through rival gang territory. In fact, after talking with numerous gang members now they tell me this and they tell me that walking through rival gang territory has now become a game. its a game now because they can walk through in a group of 5 or 6 guys and have two of the guys holding guns in case they see a rival in the territory or can goad the rivals into a fight then they can get a couple good shots in on them. The violence has become a game to them. The thugs freely admit that violence is out of control now because they police are not stopping anyone anymore. They tell us they see "the opps" and rival gangs coming through their neighborhood multiple times a day. They also say that more and more kids aren't hiding the guns anymore in abando's, under porches, in back yards, under garbage cans etc so they police don't stop them with them now they are free and comfortable enough to take the chances of carrying the guns on them giving them a greater chance of shooting at a rival. the kids fled and luckily the womans car just got an extra hole in the back window. If police were still stopping people they wouldn't be walking freely with guns. They wouldnt stray far from their territory because they normally would not have the guns on them but put up somewhere close under a porch etc so it kept the rivals all separated. not anymore, now they are all in eachothers areas and armed. I bet the ACLU already knows all of this right??? Nah, I'm sure they would never, ever accept anything like this because it would maybe make them think twice about their expert police tactics. Also, if the members of the ACLU were to believe this information would any of the members there start to loose sleep? Would they start to think that they are the real reason why other human beings are being killed?? The same people who they "fight for" are dying in impoverished ghetto neighborhoods while they go home to their northside safe space or nice suburb to feel good about themselves and how they are "changing society" and "protecting" the less fortunate real life in the ghetto is hitting families hard. They sit in their nice houses and people are dying and suffering and they get to tell all their friends how great they are and how culturally diverse they are for fighting for the rights of all including the gang members. Well, the blood is on the hands of the ACLU. They don't want to hear it or believe it but take it from people who know the real truth, they are responsible for people dying in this city. I take that very personally considering I joined this job to stop it. The ACLU says I cant... well, its not on me, its on them.
Kudos to President TRUMP at least we can count on him and Sessions. Executive order that will really help officers now. Thank you sir. Cant wait to see you in D.C.
TV reporters interviewed some Mt. Prospect residents after a robbery there. One person said that they were considering moving as the suburb didn't seem safe anymore. Well welcome to our world suburban guy!

Sadly this is the biggest municipal swamp in the country and far too many citizens of Chicago are becoming victims of these politicians failed policy’s and corruption. We desperately need the fair, impartial and law & order DOJ that you will assemble, to come to Chicago and drain this swamp so we can stand up again instead of treading sewage that is up to our neck and rising.

great comments. Don't forget that the past alderman of 3rd and 4th ward actually said they want the project high rises to stay because is their voter base. These black alderman wanted the mass of blacks to be housed in these conditions because so many votes wer at stake. No nothing will change. The progressives are in charge of this county. Preckwinkle does not like the police, I don't think Ramn does either for that matter. Preckwinkle said that Cook County will become a " sanctuary county" Buckle up things will be much worse this year.
There will be five Chicago-based television programs on NBC this season.
Chicago PD, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, Chicago Justice and Chicago Capped.
Chicago Capped is predicted to be very successful with plenty of stories taken from the streets.

ACLU had also previously stated that they didn't care about the shootings and killings rising. They were only happy that the police were not stopping and interacting with criminals. This was from ISR training at Hq. The media should be focus and placing all the blame on them. The ACLU is directly responsible for the violence. They brought the violence level to this level under their "protecting criminals rights" to roam freely without interference from law enforcement. Give credit where credit is due. Someone needs to start a campaign against the ACLU and start making the sheep understand the Police are not the problem.

I have spent some time researching just who the ACLU fights for, and my unscientific research
shows that law enforcement officers appear to be the only group they do not defend.
To prove my hypothesis, I have sent the nation headquarters of the ACLU a request for any and all instances where they have defended a law enforcement officer who had their Civil Rights violated.
Of the 141 Line of Duty Deaths in 2016, 95 of theses deaths were felonious murders.
Thats 95 law enforcement officers who had their very basic civil rights violated.
I'm betting my pension that the ACLU turned a blind eye and a deaf ear to this carnage.

The ACLU thinks what they did was a victory for the people in those nieghborhoods. The ACLU attorneys feels good when they go home to their suburbs. The absolutely wonderful church going God fearing financially disadvantaged people who just want to live in peace in their communities suffer the consequences when that can't leave their homes. Those people love the police and we the police love and respect them. We aren't in those communities and we aren't on this job to get rich. Not too many of those people are subjects of the stop and frisk. its those great and wonderful people that silently cry and scream out for the return of the police.

It is a game of semantics.
Unfounded is the correct finding for the allegation(s) of improper police conduct that never occurred.
In this case, exoneration would not have been the proper finding because it is not allowable to exonerate improper police conduct.

If the accusation made is done by the officer and found to be lawful and in step with the GO's it would be EXONERATED.

I came on in 1987, we were still being the police, but now with the pandering and the anti-police bias not just from the elected and the 24/7 "dishonest media" and from our very own so called exempt ranks who Eddie kept the same players shuffled the deck expected a different outcome, but the same and worse developed! Change was/is needed as the fish stinks from the top down not long ago the rank was respected but now we are like the boy/girl scouts except those leaders actually taught you how to protect yourself in the jungles, while ours have no idea what to do in Chicago jungles where the savage attacks are everywhere and animals are traveling all over!

Wrong.
Exonerated would mean they WERE racist and profiling, but they were justified.
Unfounded means there was no basis for the complaint Rush made. It says they were NEVER racist or unprofessional.
The other thing that was timed to the increase in murders, of course, was the Rialmo investigation. It's good to see that closed down by Fox/Sussman.

That wasn't an IPRA investigation. That was the finding of a CPD Sgt. IPRA wouldve sustained the allegation like the higher ups wanted. HUGE respect for the Sgt who stood his ground on that false allegation. REMEMBER not everyone is out to screw hard working officers.
