Two? Seriously, TWO?
- A man and a 2-year-old boy were shot and killed and a pregnant woman was wounded Tuesday afternoon in North Lawndale.
The woman was on Facebook Live at the time of the shooting, which occurred in an alley in the 2300 block of South Kenneth Avenue.
They were in a car in the alley about 1:30 p.m. when another vehicle drove past and someone got out, pulled out a weapon and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.
So cue up the outrage....that'll last maybe two news cycles. There were two 11-year-old shot this weekend. One has already been removed from life support, the other is probably hours or days away from the same fate. One aldercreature is talking about a march for all the good it'll do.
Gun laws go unenforced - see our post directly below. Offenders are routinely released or sentenced to minimal time, so there's nothing to fear from the judicial side of things - no consequences. No one in the "community" is willing to step up. Shame doesn't work, appealing to a higher morality doesn't work, humiliation doesn't work. We guess it's time to blame the police again.

It is a shame children are murdered. No one wants to wish that or see that happen. However, children will continue to be murdered because adults allow shooters to plea-bargain down. Mandatory sentencing for gun crimes relating to shooting a firearm, wounding/murdering a person with a firearm, or using the firearm in a commission of another felony should start at 30 years and go up to life. Judges should not have discretion when it comes to sentencing.
Looking at this weekends forecast pretty much ensures that the self-cleaning ghetto ovens will be set to "High".

Did you notice yesterday Ald. Sawyer bitching again that AA's make up 71% of the street stops conducted by CPD officers. What he fails to mention is at least 75% of CPD resources are expended in those neighborhoods and that at least 80% of violent crimes occur there also.
Street stops are down 85% and violent crime, homicides, Agg. Batts etc are up if not that much, probably pretty close.
Police should start stopping crime by making more street stops in Jefferson Park and Mt. Greenwood. Hopefully shootings in Lawndale, Austin and Englewood will stop then. Everyone will feel better that stats will accurately reflect City demographics.

Also I have never even read or or heard of a white executive being busted for snorting coke, yet alone smoking weed. Is there some secret place they go to for that? Nope. Selective prosecution. Felony DUI? Nope, most whites get a pass on that, in spite of the commercials and psa announcements. So you run over someone, three times legal limit, stank drunk, prior offenses, but make a bullshit apology and get to go home? I sell weed, the charge alone costs me jobs. And that is a fucking fact. Most black people like me we just deal with the bullshit and keep out of trouble, accept lower wage gigs because private companies want Josh, Brent, Cooper and Brittany and Kristin. Interesting post. I disagree with some of your comments. If you call having to spend over 10 thousands of dollars to get off or plead down on a DUI as getting off you are sadly mistaken. White people have a harder time then black and brown people getting a public defender so they have to pay through the nose in the long run. Also I would like to see where these kids are that spend months incarcerated for weed. It sure isn't cook county. As a prior post noted Juvenile court is a revolving door. Black and brown kids who commit felonies against other black and brown people are let out on a regular basis with little to no punishment. And as for your comment about black people having a harder time getting jobs please spare me. People of color on average per person get more government and private assistance in paying for school and getting jobs then Caucasians. The Caucasians just have to pay higher taxes, more in tuition and work at a higher level to cover non-Caucasians. As for you having a hard time in a interview because of you skin color perhaps you should put the blame where it is, your fellow African Americans, who commit violent crimes, especially murder, at a rate many times higher then any other racial group in the United States.
