Hey Ferguson

And media, too....if you're paying attention. This was posted on SCC twice - the most recent time about 4.5 years ago. You want to save money, try this:
  • .... Northside posted this comment comparing the number of aldercreatures to those of other cities. If Rahm was truly interested in saving some real money, instead of nickel and dime-ing everyone to death, this would deserve some serious consideration:
    ====================
WHY TWENTY-FIVE CHICAGO WARDS? TRY SEVENTEEN.
The U.S. Census Bureau is the source of the final 2010 decennial population data for the nation's eight most populous cities. The respective number of city council members is in parentheses.

    1. New York City...8,175,133 (51)
    2. Los Angeles......3,792,621 (15)
    3. CHICAGO...........[see below]
    4. Houston..........2,099,451 (11)
    5. Philadelphia.....1,526,006 (17)
    6. Phoenix..........1,445,632 (9)
    7. San Antonio......1,327,407 (10)
    8. San Diego........1,307,402 (8)
    ___________________________________
    TOTAL (7 CITIES)...19,673,652 (121)
    3. CHICAGO..........2,695,598 (50)

Excluding Chicago, the aggregate of the seven most populous cities in the nation have an average of less than 17 city council numbers per capita.

While New York City has a population over three times larger than Chicago, they have only 51 city council members, a mean of one per every 160,297 residents. Chicago has a mean of one alderman per only 53,912 residents.
We're coming up on the 2020 census, Chicago is bleeding residents, and it's long past time to cut aldercreature "representation" by two-thirds. Fiscal prudence demands it.

Rahm won't cut aldercreatures without a plebiscite on the ballot for fewer aldercreatures. The aldercreatures won't allow such a measure on the ballot that would put them, their family and friends out to pasture. The majority of people in Chicago drink the Kool-Aid, hence they won't by petition demand a ballot referendum to reduce the number of aldercreatures based on "X" percentage of the population. This would be tantamount to term limits for the mayor and aldercreatures and we all know that will never happen; so we will keep paying for 50 thieves, et al.

There should be more aldermen in Chicago! Isn't there a connected family in Chicago that has a kid in need of work. Y they could begin their place in Chicago Royalty right now.
Am I right connected families? You want another Capt spot either way? Boss within Chicago one way or another. Didn't Chicago make a Judge who simply graduated from law school? Chicago put a person on "the bench" right out of law school with ZERO practical legal experience. In other words, we handed a baseball bat to a "tee baller" and subsequently placed the kid in "The Show."
The United States doesn't have royalty, not even in a figurehead status. Chicago somehow acquired royalty and damn if Chicago didn't strengthen royalty.
Everybody who reads this Blog knows a family that falls into Chicago's royalty no matter Department or Agency.

Just Curious, Does anybody know the history of the aldermanic seats in the city in the past. Also how many wards were there in relation to the population. How the hell did we get to 50 alderpeople? At the same time looking at the ward map, any 8 year old could have done a better job of cutting up wards. No there was no gerrymandering involved! It's Chicago, all on the up and up, oops got confused that's the taxes. LOL

Excellent, SCC! Add term limits and a recall referendum initiative for all elected officials.

In the past, a few posters have proposed that each police district have a separate aldercreature. Since ward representation is based on equal populations, this is impossible. At one extreme, the 8th District has a population of almost 250,000 which would make it the second largest city in Illinois. Meanwhile, both Districts 007 and 011 each have a population of only about 65,000.

Ferguson is nothing more than a puppet for City Hall. When Northside obtained a C.R. No. against J-Fled for cowardice, the complaint was assigned to Ferguson's office. He ignored it in a cover-up.

To any that doubt the validity and credibility of the cowardice complaint, you can hear the lying coward contradict himself in two separate radio interviews nearly a year apart. On YouTube, check out the following link and you make the call:
www.youtu.be/0exfllVIGns

You can also raise this video on the YouTube search engine by entering "Weis" and "coward". It's the video with a still photo of J-Fled with a picture of a chicken on his left breast.

As far as the cheating on the most recent "LIE-tenants Exam", Ferguson will stall and eventually sweep it under the rug. Also remember that the local MSM is in City Hall's hip pocket.

I was born and raised in Chicago. So was my father and his father. I've always loved this city. It would always confuse me to hear my Grandpa and Dad talk about how much they hated Chicago. That confusion wore off once I was off on my own. Nickel and dimed to death is an understatement. We are being BLED dry. For what? I have no police service in my neighborhood, property taxes are at a record high, I pay for garbage pickup, the schools are horse crap, the streets are trash, the crime is RISING and on and on. Now it is I who curses this fucking shithole every chance I get. I thought this was once a great city and was proud to say it when I traveled. Now I hang my head in shame. Cutting the alderman down to levels similar to the other cities would be a nice refresher, but boy would that be far from a great start.

10 more unfortunate years here

Great post, SCC! Remember when the IL legislature had 3 representatives per district? I believe it was Pinocchio Quinn who pushed the reduction campaign into a referendum which ultimately passed. We need to do the same with the City Council, although Pinocchio would probably not support this measure since he is beholden to many of the black caucus who will freak out if this idea picks up steam. Maybe FOP should assign this to some of the retirees on the Executive Board since this will entail a lot of foot work. Ratify our Contract or We will Remove your Ass. This could also paint Rahmulus into a corner and put the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners into a tailspin when the petitions start flooding their office. And if successful, it will force Jason Ervin to move to Maywood where he will have to clean up his property.

There you go again, baffling everyone with numbers. You take this to most CPS high schools and ask seniors to review it and comment on what it seems to indicate. I surmise the results would be disheartening. I have a buddy in Phoenix originally from Hammond. He said it is amazing how streamlined the city of Phoenix is run compared to the ham bone. Nine alder creatures in Phoenix. Where is the clout? How can things be taken care of if you know what I mean$. How can an elected official hide among 50 others?

Chicago really only has 17 aldermen. The other 33 are there representing criminals and illegal aliens interests. The other cities just haven't caught on yet.
But it does seem like common sense to reduce the number of aldermen representing communities that are fleeing the city. The liberal democrat sanctuary city! (Just had to get that in there somehow.)

Reducing the number of wards and thereby reducing the number of aldermen is a great idea that really should be done, even without a loss of residents. However, does anyone really think that this will happen or if it is even possible. In this town, a town that defines everything based on race and ethnicity it would be a near impossible task to divide up the city so every racial and ethnic group is satisfied with their perceived representation. The fight would go on for years and probably end up in court and the boundary lines would be so convoluted and twist and curve and snake their way around the city in an attempt to stack the wards with the correct racial and ethnic numbers. I just do not see it happening. Recall that the discussion has been going on for years about redrawing police district boundaries which are still on original boundary lines based on the old telephone trunk lines which are not even used. It is all about power and influence. The ideal way would be to have 12 alderman, 4 white, 4 Hispanic and 4 Black. But, not going to happen

They can close and consolidate police districts at the cost of public safety, but God forbid they consolidate wards to reduce the ridiculous number of aldermen. Most aldermen are completely useless and unqualified. Most spend ridiculous amounts of money on whatever the hell they want with no accountability. They have assistants and God knows what else working in their offices, making ridiculous sums of money. It's all political favors and corruption, but it never changes. The only change we get in regards to aldermen is the raises they constantly decide to give themselves. What a great system.

Silly rabbits, the number of aldercreatures isn't based on people, it is based on money laundering avenues needed. This is why Chicago is so similar to NYC in terms of numbers of wards. A similar amount of money laundering vessels are required to handle the human trafficking and drug money oh and shhhhhhh lots of political kickbacks and bribes and, yeah, tax monies.

There are just to many factions in too small an area to accomplish all the laundry with only a sane number of alderman. How big the gangs, ooops, groups are isn't the measure.

Understand?

What is my point here? Ok let me practice what I am about to preach, oh wait I just did. If you're going to have the courage to pose the question by presenting such comparisons, also have the courage to admit the correct and honest answer as well. If waiting for another to answer it was going to work, it would have been answered by now.....as noted here also with 4.5 years ago.

Money. Laundering. Scheme. That's the answer, the honest answer. So then, lets fix it.

I checked the accuracy of the numbers in this post. The math, 2010 U.S. Census data and the number of respective city council members is correct. Based on the other 7 most populous cities, Chicago should be represented by only 16.58 aldercreatures. Let's be generous by rounding it off at SEVENTEEN.

Also note than unlike the seven other largest cities cited, Chicago is the only major city that is losing population since the 2010 census. By now, a fair count of only SIXTEEN aldercreatures would be appropriate.

Cut the AlderThieves Discretionary Fund for a $66 million saving.

Where was Fergie when the CPS spent $135 mil on classroom air conditioners, $530,000 was for a school that closes next week.
And then all this Sanctuary Money funding, where does that come from?

Why doesn't Fergie take away Rahm's credit card?
Who lends money or extends credit to someone who can't pay the bills and has a dismal credit rating.
No shortage of money for Rahm's Bankers that still collect those interest fees, no waiting for that payment when the rate just keeps rising.

It would be nice to see what % is leaving Chicago among these top populated cities as they did for this study on the top 25 cities across the country losing population. If Shitcago was to have the same amount of aldercreatures as these corresponding cities, we would have a grand total of 16.6 (if we get Gutierrez back we could have the .6) Right there is a 6 million dollar savings on salaries along for the part-time overpaid aldercreatures. Let's not get into staffing, office leasing, $1.25 mill play money the aldercreatures use which finds it's way back into their pockets in kickbacks.
