The 13th Annual Cycle Across Illinois benefiting IL COPS took place this past weekend, 13 July through 16 July. The ride honored six Illinois officers killed in the line of duty, including Jason Gallero of the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department. The ride went from Alton, covering some 300 miles and was scheduled to end at the Maywood Courthouse.

There were surviving wives, mothers, and children left riding from Alton Illinois, and Preckwinkle told them they weren't welcome! This needs to get out there.
Here's some drone footage of the finish, and it looks like they were diverted to a nearby high school. So why didn't Prickwrinkle allow the ride honoring one of her own Sheriffs to end at a closed Courthouse?

Might wanna double check your source on this one SCC. The finish is Triton Junior College in River Grove. That's a good 2-3 miles from the county court house in Maywood. Proviso East, which is about 4 blocks north of the court house, would've been the closet high school had they been diverted.....just sayin. Oh yeah, one more thing.....FUCK Preckwinkle!

They reached out to Sheriff Dart too and he ignored them. It was his fallen officer and not only did he refuse to attend, he shut down the route to the Courthouse. So beyond infuriating words cant describe!

Preckwinkle first told the Sheriff's Office that they could not hold their Family Day to be held tomorrow for officers and their families because she said that no county resources or property can be utilized by the ILCOPS. ILCOPS is an organization that takes care of survivors of the officers killed in the line of duty. No cost was going to be incurred by the County but rather by the ILCOPS. Cook County's Homeland Security was providing the tents and showers for the volunteers that were finishing the ride in honor of our fallen and our very own Jason Gallero. So no longer will there be pipes and drums at the end, no presentation for Gallero's family and no comradery.
Prickwinkle is about to roll out plans for a county wide tax on toilet paper. She believes this tax will cause the citizens of cook county to recycle toilet paper.

This is accurate SCC, with the exception of the local HS. It was moved to Triton College. This is a example of the childish behavior by a corrupt politician(s) who got their hand slapped for reaching in the cookie jar 1 too many times. When you break down these departments in the Cook County system you will be (or not) to find a very top heavy department. These departments are often filled with EXEMPT managment officials. Most earning very large salaries for doing either very little, doing a job that can be handled more efficiently by a employee with a lesser salary and more experience, or doing nothing at all in a made up position. This problem has ballooned since the Shackman Order was lifted.
As a taxpayer these departments should be called before a independent committee to explain positions, salaries, and detail the need to keep these positions. I am not suggesting the fox in charge of the hen house Cook County Board, this is where the problem starts. I truly hope that this Judges ruling regarding another tax on the people of Cook County is a indication that Cook County residents are fed up with being taxed in order to fund a bloated and corrupt system. Living within our means is a way of living responsibly, not a optional way of living.
The untruths told to the taxpayers of Cook County regarding this "soda tax" are endless. The Cook County Board never passed a balanced budget, not if they were relying on a future tax that had no guaranteed monetary amount. This was not a tax to assist the unhealthy Cook County Taxpayer "get healthy", since only certain groups of Cook County Residents were going to pay this tax. The biggest lie that was told and continues to published and reported by our local media is that these cuts and layoffs are due to a Judge disallowing a "soda tax". The cuts and layoffs are due to a bloated and corrupt system, that has no checks/balances and is not held accountable to anyone. They make FOIA impossible, they release very little information that is counterproductive to their agenda, if you fight it, well they have attorneys on thier payroll that will systematically and fiscally break you, and the media refuses to dig or accurately report these problems, but will joke about it at the water cooler or off the air.
I hope that my assessment is correct when I said I think the way the Judge ruled is indicative of the way Cook County voters will cast their ballots in the future. Media we are asking you to do your jobs and report, accurately. Ask the questions we all have, where is the money going, why is it needed, can it be done more efficiently. Demand answers and documentation to support the answers.
To all tax payers, when is enough going to be enough of this irresponsible way of governing? I hope this is the sign that we have reached that point.

This post doesn't make sense. At worst, it's a security or insurance issue. I have parked my car there several times during the weekend to ride the Prairie Path. I was once told that I "park at my own risk" and risk being towed. I was also told it's not safe because the Sheriffs have a skeleton staff there on weekends. I called the towing company (there are multiple signs) and left a note with my phone number taped to the dirver's door.

I don't know the facts of the shooting nor the officers perception of a threat but do know if there was a race reversal there would be demonstrations and the officer involved would be thrown under the bus regardless of the facts to appease the protected community.

Why is it that we are not allowed to speak as a police officer on the news, and then when I watch liberals on TV I constantly hear what police officers want. I keep hearing I don't want to enforce immigration laws and want tougher gun laws. I know I don't want either same as the majority of officers I speak with. Honestly I would like the courts to enforce the laws, all of them without bias!

What would 4 months in the academy accomplish? They already completed the classes necessary to be sworn officers? They completed the metro recruit program. The academy has nothing more to offer them. If they do not have police powers, why use the academy again? This does not make any sense. They need a real chief with a law enforcement background, not another political hack.
Actually a pretty cool idea. Its not a crime to mail a receipt to smeone. It would be nice if a whole lot of people would do this. Now if only we inew her home address.

It's not about health, it's about $. People on welfare, ssi, etc don't have to pay the tax. Basically Toni doesn't care about the poor people
She says she loves then but wont charge them the sugary tax so she is promoting their early death. Also since the dummy crats won't keep violent people in jail more people are getting killed , hhmmm they hate those people too.

She was so pissed at the Police, who kept catching her kids with weed, that she basically made possession of weed legal!

OT - What's everyone's take on the developments in Minnesota? Black Police officer shoots to death a female white. Officer retains attorney and has not given a statement. The mayor there quoted he wished he could compel the officer to tell what happened, but can't.
No rioting, just measured demands for answers. Only pro police media stories about the Somali officer.
Can you see that happening here?

I sure hope the Judge doesn't cave. It was painful to have watch the County board meeting and hearing people thank the commissioners for voting for the soda tax and then inferring that the retailers and citzen should sit back and take this tax. I thought I was in the twilight zone. The brainwashing of America and these were attorneys (public defenders) saying this. Not all mind you but enough to put their jobs and paycheck before the constitution.
