Multiple Pensions

Question:
  • Does anyone know how many pensions (and how much they are) that Prickwrinkle collects?
  • How about Shortshanks? We know he collects multiples;
  • Do these thieves collect Social Security, too?
  • Other politicians who are double or triple-dipping?
If investigative reporting is dead, then citizens have to pick up some of the slack, and crowd-sourcing information is as good a method as any.

Shanks has three, state, county and city. Thats the most you could possibly have. If someone has those three plus a federal pension well may god bless them because you'll probably be dead before you can enjoy all that money.

Slightly OT:
Speaking of double-dipping, Tina Skahill is back collecting a hefty civilian salary while also receiving her generous exempt pension. It seems as though the media attention exposing the likes of Shear, O'Neill, Roussell, and Hickey didn't stop the practice. The scam continues, and clout wins out.

Two articles from Chicago Tribune explain pensions: 1." How Daley beefed up his pension payouts "(dated 2 May 12). 2. "Generous rules govern aldermen's pensions" (dated 1 May 12). Revealing articles.

Rahm Emanuel was senior advisor to Clinton 1993 to 1998, US congressman from Illinois 2003 to 2009 and chief of staff to Obama 2009 to 2010 where he was making $172,000.00. He put in 12 yrs 10 months. A congressman only needs to put in 5 years for a pension which he can start collecting at 62. If you want to see how much he will be making go to opm.gov it will explain it. And congressmen get full social security benefits as they paid into it. Could not find out from the city's "transparent" website how much he will get when he leaves. But as I remember aldermen did not have to put in 20 yrs like the rest of us. If I remember correctly they could do 10. Now Prepwrinkle was an alderwoman and wasn't she a school teacher before that? Could she still be paying into those funds as well as the county? Didnt Daley do that with the state, county and city?

If the population of Chicago is decreasing, why do we need as many Aldermen. When the population in a state declines they get fewer U.S. Representatives and a reduction in State Representatives and Senators. At what point do we bleed off enough population from the city to lose a couple of Aldermen. We already have about 25 more than we need. BGA, where are you?

The reason Daley and others can collect hefty multiple pensions is due to Emil Jones when he was an Illinois State Senator. He passed a Bill in the early '90s allowing buying back time from previous gov jobs if you weren't in those jobs long enough to receive a pension. Daley found out about it and then told the aldercreatures. Springfield passed that Bill will little fanfare in order to not alert the public and receive the public's ire. Daley and all the other Illinois POS pols bought back their time in the public offices they held had they been those jobs for 20 or 30 years or whatever the requirement was to be eligible to receive a pension. I believe that Bill was eventually repealed sometime before 2011, I could be wrong, but the damage was already done.

Another reason Illinois is fucking broke.

Daley receives $502 per day, every day in pensions from the state, county and city governments. This is on top of his 1/2 or so from his no show job at the law firm and another 1/2 mill or do from various corporate boards he was put on as (most likely) as payment for favors granted.

Not bad for a feeble, ill, old man who isn't well enough to give depositions

Daley gets at least 3 pensions City-County-State plus dividends from crooked assets he's amassed.
PorkWinkle is due for at least 2 pensions City-County so far.
Rahm is due at least 3 pensions City, State, Fed and maybe 1 more for his WH position.
Either way, these fuckers are going to see six-figures from each pension fund they hold.

If they deplete or bankrupt The City Pension Fund then Daley-Rahm-PorkWinkle still have something to fall back on, except that the State is more likely to fail first...but They won't allow that.

So far there's no rules governing how much and from whom one can collect a pension - except the government.
Which makes the argument of Double-Triple dipping.
You generally lose most of your Social Security payments for having a government job.
Your argument is having 2 or more Goverment Jobs, that one or more pensions the payment should be decreased or eliminated.

That's fair...especially for an Elected Official - Public Servant.
Greed precedes Reason.

For the record, President Trump (donates his Presidential salary) is looking to change the Federal Retirement System.

7/18/2017 12:17:00 PM

One of the biggest scams of governmental service in Illinois, as well as many other states, is the practice of double (or triple, etc) dipping when it comes to collecting pensions and/or paychecks.

And it doesn't have to apply just to collecting multiple pensions, it's any combination of collecting one government check while simultaneously being paid by some other government entity, whether it be collecting two pensions, two paychecks, or any combination thereof.

If they really want to tackle the pension mess, the first thing they need to do is outlaw double dipping. It's a disgrace.

iad should ask how many irs forms he signed during tax time. too sick for cpd. not too sick to work at his tax business. con-man.

He's too sick to come to work, although he's got a couple listings as a tax preparer:

Marvin Shear
1). SHEAR TAX SERVICE
1305 S Michigan
Chicago, IL 60605
Phone (312) 208-6200

2). Marvin J. Shear
Shear Tax Service
65 E Scott Street, Apt 12 A
Chicago, IL 60610
United States
312-225-3379

IAD - are you out there? Here's the information you need to get you started, right here on a public forum.

____________

1. For the Michigan location, 479 returns filed for 2016, average fee in the area is
$296....

2. For the Scott location, 0 returns filed for 2016 (no returns filed for previous years), could be a new location, average fee in the area is $296....

You are welcome.

Hey, asshole ... enough already with your personal vendetta with Shear. He probably did more police work when he was younger in a year than you'll ever do in your entire shitty career. He retired as a patrol officer and took the civilian job. He got promoted as a civilian so he didn't take "your spot." He never said no to a copper who asked him for help. He had a side business doing taxes. So what? Did you ever work a side job, dip-shit? Now he's old and he should retire, but only so he can enjoy the rest of his life instead of being in the cesspool with people like you. You'll be old someday and you'll probably be one of those guys working side jobs for $15. per hour after you retire, still bitching about Shear & the others. If you've got some "proof" that Shear was doing something wrong, then go to the IAD with it. If not, STFU.

____________

Listen fruitcake, Marvin Shear is not listed with the IRS as a tax preparer. That means that this is probably a straw operation. The returns are being transmitted under someone else's name. And you STFU. And about spots, someone is definitely filling your spot.

You are welcome.

Hi T.C. - thanks for putting your two cents in. I'd defend that old scammer too if he set me up with a good spot like yours after I retire. And you don't even have to get his lunch now that he is on the medical with his "heart problem." Let's face it - if a sworn member worked another job while on the medical that member would be separated, or maybe even indicted, but Shear can do it with impunity. You've both been gaming the system for years, and the truth hurts.

Tony is the only one defending Shear. Many times he has posted on SCC that, "He [Shear] never said no to a copper who asked him for help." I've even heard him say those exact words. Nonsense. The only coppers Shear ever helped were Marv Shear...and Tony, of course.

Love the video of Aldercreep Maldonado trying to spark something at 2am at a crime scene in HP. With his kids. What a loser.

Trust you? No thanks! You must be the girlfriend? Will you still defend him after finally realizing he has no plans for wedding bells?
